CURRENT SCHEDULE
Expect a new video every Sunday and Wednesday at 11AM Central!
How Farms Work by Ryan Kuster is a UA-cam channel based in rural Potosi, Wisconsin. Our mission is to teach those who didn't grow up on a farm what the farming life is like. These videos show the Kuster family working together raising cattle and crops. We believe everyone who wants to know more about farming should be able to share the farming experience with us and we look to educate the world on many essential agriculture topics.
How Farms Work takes place on ~1,100 acres with around 75-200 cattle at any given time. Four John Deere tractors are currently used on the farm, which are a 4020, 4640, 7600, and 8235R.

Great work Everyone, Andrew is a smart Fella, that swinging gate is awesome Ryan💯👌👍🙏🙂
Hauling grain with a tractor a wagon (especially with our 6M...not the 6R :) ) is a lot of fun for me and never gets boring...it is my favourit job on the farm.:)
If you do run out of bales I hear that guy from the rest of the story sells some. Lol
Loved the directly overhead timelapse drone shots of the combine!!
That skid steer gate is pretty handy
I really liked that skid steer gate contraption you displayed.👍 commented and a very long time and Happy subscriber 😊!
That automatic gate is a must have in your operation.
don't cows like a Challenge though??
Everything is a challenge to cattle. We triple chain gates on feedlots, and I still will find one chain off from time to time. And they will lick the hardest wire until it untwists. Nothing but time on thier hooves when they have plenty to eat!
G’job Ryan, you have some the best music during the drone footage. Y’all stay safe and take care🇺🇸💪🏻🇺🇸
Ryan, your drone work never fails to amaze us! 😊
Great video Ryan keep them coming please
Great Video Ryan, Interesting on the hay use graph! The cows look in very good order, thanks for sharing
Love the video Ryan and love That gate .
Beautiful sun set.
Man Ryan,,,, you got a good one with Andrew. May be time to invest in a dryer! You pulled the calves off, let them graze stalks or out in the pasture till snow flies. You can still keep a bale out for them and keep them close to the house.
That gate would make a good video.
Hey Ryan! Harvest videos are great, can't wait for the tillage ones. Have a nice day-
awsome video ryan thumbs up and shared
Whatching from Brasil 😊
That gate is amazing. It really saves time when you are feeding only. How does it work in the winter with snow and ice.
Love to see the harvest going on.
I don't believe it has gone through a winter yet.
Good question! I'll be using it this winter and will report back on whether or not it is still a good purchase!
Nice video Ryan, hope you can get done with harvest soon and then get caught up.
Great video Ryan. No way I could do that puzzle 😂
It's nice to see that 9770 in the field😄👍 thank you for another video of harvest '23👍😃
Another great video! To make your bales last longer, I would chop a bag of cornsilage for more roughage We feed our cows, silage, cornstocks, hay, and molasses in a TMR so we can manage what they eat during and fall and winter months.
Love the gate!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING RYAN AND THE FAMILY. HAVE NICE WEEK
Same to you! Thanks!
Thanks Ryan!
Silage bales go faster than dry bales, even if they are the same size. It's the dry matter content that feeds cattle, so you have to adjust for the moisture %. It's a good thing farming is so simple to do, ain't it? 😂😂👍🚜🤠
Plant grass seed, grow grass, make hay, simples lol and happy cows.
Hey Ryan farmers in my area already have their crops in.
Always too much to do on the farm, but we both know it's hard to keep a good Ryan down!
Had an employee at grain elevator, gave truck drivers a question sometimes. Couple times, pondered all day, sure keep long day interesting with question stuck on your mind till answer.
Good Video
Good content. 👍
Another grate video, the app really cool especially cuz will make ya be more efficient with bales

Lindo video! Que lindos atardeceres! La cosecha a full.....🙋🏻♂️🙋🏻♂️🙋🏻♂️👍🏼👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🚜🚜🚜🚜
Hey Ryan, hope the corn moisture goes down. Mr. Andrew is a good man. The gate is slice I know it helps out a lot. Take care, Take it Easy and TRUST JESUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Ryan!!
Hey Darrin!
Great Video😳🥺😩😫😫
Yessir 👍
How much would you say you have to go yet?
..,.that's quite a nifty gate! Really saves time!...are there any more on prem?
Prem?
Do you have any more gates like that on your property?....or premises...sorry for sounding a bit erudite....lol...!!!

Hi
Couldn't you use the harvester silo for storing your grain ?
Only if we converted it, but I wouldn't trust them to be sealed from moisture well enough.
Good luck finding a smoking deal on another semi with automatic hopper doors. The next step is direct sales, fatten those steers, open cows and talk to Cole. You will make more in promoting beef and pork sales and be a great ambassador. The demand is there good luck. At the rate processing facilities are burning and after the flu, your fans want to support you let us!
I love the drone shots. But it looks like the sprayer guy needs to pay attention to where he's going, or stay off the phone.
Those tracks happened during the y drop application. We had a wheel cylinder malfunctioning on the new 2023 Hagie and were able to finally get that resolved. The tracks are definitely an issue but when things like this happen we try to make it right with our customers!
Are you cracking your corn for the calves
Not until they get put on the feeder. Saves me time running it through the roller mill for just a short time.
Too young for Rubik's Cube "fun"? Lol
