    I just ordered one... won't see it until the end of May. My first 3D printer. I was going to go with the Bambu Labs A1 Mini, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to be printing ABS/ASA, so I'll need the enclosure and the heated chamber should come in handy.

    • @TwoMooseDesign

      A1 mini looks great but yeah if that’s what you want to print you’ll for sure need an enclosure. The heated chamber is definitely a benefit for that as well. I printed Asa in it and comes out great.

    I really want to get this printer but i won't be able to come up with enough money before the early bird sale ends 😢 I'm disabled and can't work so it will take me a long time to save up for it , i have 200 dollars saved up now but maybe in about 6 months I might have enough. I think that this will be the perfect 3d printer for me as i want to build it into a cabinet in my 1967 city transit bus that I live in

    Does it use metal pulley balls on the belts? How easy is it to switch nozzles ? How easy is it to access for maintenance or parts replacement?

    Compared to other reviews you seem to be the only person who is impressed by this printer.

      🤷🏼‍♂️ prints fine for me, I don’t have a ton of time into it but it prints clean.

      what other reviews are you comparing it to, I just watched 2 reviews back to back praising the printer.
      edit: I bought it, multiple good reviews more than just 2 or 3.

      I saw one review that wasn’t the best but wasn’t the worse. After this comment above I watched a few because I just got the printer and I simply can’t know everything about it. I believe the complaint is with the heater as it could potentially shock you but you can also stick a screw driver in and outlet, I don’t understand the concern, why would you be sticking things in the heater while the machines running. Overall I watched several reviews and for the price it seems to be a good printer. Again I just started using it and it’s hard to say long term.

      I am a Qidi customer for life... they absolutely have the BEST customer service in the 3d printer game. I own Qidi gen 2 printers, X max 2 ans x plus 2. I also have 2 of the x max 3's. Every Qidi printer comes with after sales barcode stickers on them, with a person's name that ONLY specializes in the model printer. They answer EVERY email within the day, and they have never dodged me or blew me off. They also have a live chat on their website. Once you reach that person, that is the only person you will have to deal with! Olivia is my person for the X max 3's, and Linda is my person for the gen 2 printers. Even years later, Qidi overnights me out EVERY AND ANY parts that need to be replaced. Even if it was fault and broken something, Linda overnights me parts Via DHL and reach my doorstep from China in 3 days. Many years later, they still send me all the parts I need to keep the printers running perfectly! Same goes with my X max 3's as well! Matter of fact, I was having some majornissues withcmy 1st x max 3 I received ( it was the 2nd newer version, not the bad 1st batch ) but Olivia had me try some things, overnighted me all need toolhead parts ( the ENTIRE hotend) and a bunch of their newest upgraded parts, upgraded be plates, extra proximity probes, extra extruder assembly... and worked through the steps again. Unfortunately I must have recieved a problem child and Olivia INSTANTLY gave me a full refund without asking for it at all... and said to keep the printer for my troubles. Do with it as I wish, fix it, part it, etc etc. She said I can look into another brand of printers, or try a new X max 3... my choices, no hard feelings. They can't be beat, I'm telling you, their customer service is beyond phenomenal! They take the all the worry out of spending alot of money on a printer, and have them run you through the ringer like Bambu does, like creality's non existing customer service. Bambu wants every piece back in original packaging ( likebyou keep that BS trash around your crib lol ) and creality just blowsnyou off and says, "sucks to be you," type of attitude. You either have a massive following as a content creator, or by the 1 trillion to 1 chance... to get a hold of someone at creality. My friend tried for months to get a hold of some at creality about a complete lemon. But anyways, qidi might not look as streamline as some of the other printers, but they are workhorse engineering grade printers that can handle everything you throw at them. I primarily print in all carbon fiber filaments, fiberglass filaments, and kevlar infused filaments. The qidi x max 3 handles those serious engineering grade filaments WAYYY better than pla and abs. X max hotend doesn't 350°c, the bed temp reach 120° c and have a chamber heater. They do work man. So like I said, I am A Qidi customer for life, simply for the insanely great customer service that I only recieve from them. No brainer for me.

    Thanks for the review buddy, have got my eye on this printer but would love to know if the z offset is automatic here or manual like their X-max 3 which you have to set up using a shim/paper? I saw you were adjusting it on screen during the first layer tests. I would prefer auto with the option for manual adjustment as opposed to the Bambulab printers that are fully automated and do not allow user adjustment without changing the start Gcode. Also any chance you could do a bed flatness test by printing a large object across the entire build plate? I recently designed and printed a dust shoe for my Genmitsu 4030 cnc on my Bambulab P1P but the parts would not sit flat against each other as the bed is super warped in the middle, which makes printing anything that needs to fit together pretty much a no go. Had to reprint the parts on my old mk3s+ in the end. Thanks and hope to see another video in the future with long term usage updates! On a side note, thanks for all the cnc content too, you managed to cover both my hobbies in a single channel 😄

      I just cheated the z a little closer, I didn’t have to do the paper. I saw someone else’s review and they did the paper so I’m not sure. It’s hard to tell with these pre launch models they send out. They tweak stuff so some things may vary. I did two first layer test in the video. Thanks for watching!

      They use automatic leveling, but keep two knobs under the heat bed that can be adjusted manually. So I think this machine would be your favorite auto with the option for manual adjustment machine!

    Looks like a nice printer. My only concern is after looking at their website, replacement parts appear to be unavailable. I have a Bambu and had a failed print rip out a thermistor wire. A quick order on the website and I had another hot assembly on it's way to me. Looking at Qidi's website, a replacement wouldn't be easily available. That is a pretty big deal.

    • @Kimberlie1
      @Kimberlie1 2 місяці тому +1

      It could be that they haven't updated it yet, as long as you contact QIDI after-sales support, they can always get you the parts you need. If it's a problem with the machine, you can even get the parts for free under warranty!

    Basically, if you want the printer really good price sign up for their email and they’ll give you 5% discount may not sound like a lot but that lowers it from 470 to 445 and all you would need to go along with that is a roll of poly maker PLA Which with the printer would normally buy it, which is crazy

      @@TwoMooseDesignThanks for your reply, that's good news 👍 All that's left for Qidi to do is add an active carbon filter and an Ethernet port to climb to the top of the podium. I can't wait for it to be released in France, it could well be the replacement for my CR-10.

    About how loud would you say it is? Could you work with it in your home office, or is this a "Put it in the spare room closet with the door shut" loud printer?

    • @TwoMooseDesign
      @TwoMooseDesign  2 місяці тому

      It’s not that loud but it’s easy to tune out. I’m sensitive to sound when I’m trying to work so I would not want it next to me while I’m working or trying to focus. When the fans kick on is when it’s “noisey” its not as loud as a vacuum or anything but it definitely makes noise lol if it was in the next room I doubt you’d hear it

      I'm not the kind of person that's going to go in and mess with a bunch of settings, they are referring to the klipper/fuid. I only send files through it, check bed mesh, the camera, and delete files. I just want it to crank out nice looking prints. Its not something i'm concerned about personally, if you are an advanced user and like to mess with a bunch of settings then yes it would be a concern as its not as easy to change the codes and such.
