Man there’s be riots in the streets if this happened in an easy mode nowadays! Did they also remove the hit counter and Penetrate counter? That’s insane lol Also, Philia eating lasers to the face and getting BG from it is hilarious!
Simple mode in this game is supposed to be VERY EASY mode in Difficulty but Barbatos and his Hi Ougi even on EASY mode when he STARTS the battle with it tends to always hit for OVER 10,000 damage and that Hi Ougi of his is full screen based so not even 4x 9999 HP party members WOULD survive it at the very START of the battle. If you DO survive the Hi Ougi he will just use it OVER and OVER if you try to use ANY items during the fight.
It is actually harder. They buffed Barbatos to be able to instant kill you with any attack, get full screen lasers and is immune to every ailment. They wanted that fight to be impossible and to punish you for playing on easy mode instead of normal.
About that Simple mode however under the difficulty settings is listed IRC below EASY mode and NOT between HARD and Mania (hardcore mode) but yes on easy mode his Hi Ougi at the start IS supposed to DO over 9999 damage at the start of the fight and on Simple mode its also meant to kill you instantly. But at the same time the POST game bonus dungeon Destiny 1 PS2 version has its basically a LONGER version of Eternia's POST game dungeon so its just so happens that the NORMAL battles on the way to this boss himself are also SOLO party member fights and I believe that floor to fight him is full of like LV 160+ enemies in it. So I believe it goes Simple > Easy > Normal > Hard > Mania > Chaos mode in that order via the difficulty setting menu's though the game still isn't in English.
About that while SIMPLE mode is SUPPOSED to be this games version of VERY EASY mode Barbatos and his Hi Ougi even on EASY mode in Destiny 1's PS2 remake can do over 10,000 damage to the ENTIRE party at once and even on Easy mode this boss kind of STARTS the battle with it.
Please Namco Bandai, can you put bosses like barbatos in recent games? Or put Barbatos. I love when the game allows you some battle when you MUST NOT fail your combo
Want playable Barba. On point mastery of the game mechanics by you to deal with this easy-mode-fuck-you from Namco. They might need to make him a little more OP.

Super fun watch! I know this is "simple mode", but it looked harder due to these changes then in higher difficulties. : o
