Zhou Shen used to be a medical school student in Ukraine. However, he found that his passion was in music, not medicine. His parents even discouraged him from being a signer due to his looks and height. I'll say Zhou Shen is an angel to this world. I certainly love his amazing voice.

For quite some time now, Zhou Shen has been the only signer I follow. I used to listen to classical music only. I am totally addicted to Zhou Shen's singing. His angelic voice has cured one of my close friend's depression.
Zhou Shen obviously trying to follow Sarah Brightman's foot step by singing so many songs by her, why don't you follow Sarah Brightman too?
Believe it or not, this is his natural actual voice, falsetto self-taught. His classical training in tenor helped him sing songs easily. Natural talents with hard work made him what he is now. Really love his voice !
He is an angel who came to this noisy world for us.
I recently discovered Zhou Shen myself, and absolutely love to hear him sing. I’ve been surprised to discover that he can actually sing lots of other things too, so perhaps he won’t get pigeon toed after all. I do adore his high natural voice though. It’s absolutely magical.

That's prepuberty voice retained in a full grown male body. An extremely rare gift indeed.
He has been trying hard and very serious in what he has involved himself in. He can also sing in his male voice. A very gifted person. He works for it. He majored in his medical course for a year before switching to music and singing.
His voice is unique, gifted, and beyond gender. I am so happy that his work is appreciated around the world. He is well loved by Chinese and he is definitely worth going to a bigger stage.

I discover his voice once my mom was watching youtube, I just asked my mom who is that, then is started to explore his music, then started that most of the time I listen his music. Some info about Zhou Shen if you’re interested: His voice didn’t change much around puberty so he still sounds like a boy (and his pitch has always been this high since childhood). He was professionally trained as a tenor in Ukraine Lviv National Conservatory and took up a career of a pop singer after he attended The Voice (Chinese ver). He’s a self taught contenor coz he finds it more comfortable to sing in that way than tenor. As a kid he sang a lot for fun but didn’t intend to choose music as his career and went to study dentistry in college in Ukraine, but a year later he dropped out and followed his heart and applied for Lviv National Conservatory. Initially his teacher taught him to sing baritone but it turned out to be a wrong choice and gave him vocal nodules. After months of painful medical treatment he found his mentor who was willing to train him to sing tenor after three months of pleading (coz when he found the teacher he was barely recovering from vocal nodules). Now he mainly sings as a pop singer and he tries to combine classical music/opera with pop music.
This song (time to say goodbye) is his audition song at a show called Super Vocals, a show that dedicates to promote bel canto and musicals. In the show 36 professionally trained singers (musical theater singers, opera singers, and pop singers who have been trained as opera singers in college) compete for 6 seats of concert masters (I don’t know if that’s the correct expression) but no one will be dropped out if he looses. Only the masters get to sing in the next episode. They’ll have to sing solo, and in duets, trios, quartets and etc. and try to bring their team to the master seats. It’s an amazing show and Zhou Shen is a precious singer among them.

Y H I agree he has a very special voice but surely you would have mistaken his voice for a woman when you heard his the very first time. At least that was my experience. The first few time watching him sing, my brain could not reconcile the audio with the video because it was tricked into thinking I’m hearing a woman singing. But now I’m familiar with him, I can tell it’s him with my eyes closed.
