500 degrees Celsius? Is that true? What would you cook at 900 degrees Fahrenheit? I've read about pizza being cooked at temperatures that high, but I can't imagine an average consumer using temperatures above a 290 C broil.

the 500 degress is for the self clean function, imagine it as a crematorium. whats in there that needs to be cleaned ends up as ash after 2hrs at 500 degrees.
