Last week we linked with Calboy for an exclusive “Off The Porch” interview! During our conversation he talked about the recent passing of DMX, his journey to get to this point ins life, recently celebrating his birthday, some of the sacrifices he had to make for his music career, what growing up in Chicago has taught him, explains why rappers have to move out of Chicago after they make it, witnessing his close friend getting killed he was 15, dealing with anxiety, having panic attacks, using his music as therapy, getting back into drawing & painting, writing a book, starting his own entertainment company, opening his first restaurant later this year, entrepreneurship, explains why rappers should have security, hot expecting his breakthrough single “Envy Me” to blow up like it did, his new single “Miseducation” featuring Lil Wayne, the concept behind the music video, his upcoming debut album, and much more!

If you listen to calboy's lyrics often, you peep how conscious he really is he definitely was honest when he said he can rap so much cause of what's in his head. Missing Raia, handling his anxiety, pain, the homies he's thankful for it be life stories/lessons in his music no cap. I like that we have artists who conscious and open about this, not just the violence or fame that can come w this shit but the issues it causes in these young men too and he done turned it into something amazing.

I've been there myself with Anxiety and Panic Attacks too. That shit was no joke. I was sweating in cold rooms, dizzy and the room spinning, all kinds of shit. Young black men gotta take care of our mental health too bc we deal with a lot of trauma

Anxiety is real man that shit controlled my life from a young age and I’m 32 now. Missed out on so much shit and watched life pass me by because my anxiety so bad. This is what caused my drug use to get bad too, opiates is the perfect solution until you run out lol. I don’t do xans or other anxiety meds though, I’ve seen it ruin too many lives. I know opiates ain’t good either but if you know what you’re doing you can use it without it effecting you’re health. You just gotta be ready for that detox when it comes and don’t use it for too long. You gotta take breaks with opiates, your tolerance goes up fast and it becomes to expensive and useless. I just want to be drug free though and learn how to deal with anxiety.

Had my first real attack 2 days ago just now going back to normal changed my diet immediate you right about the opiates they help but I didn't know they were making my shit worse
Till I called down sober up and tried again with a lil weed and green tea now I'm good
But I know it won't go away unless I face it head on they say it's not good to run from it
But dang that sucks you had to go thru that so early my life was pretty FUCKED tho so many it was a good thing for me to experience this later

Yeah panic disorder is no joke it start as having one maybe a couple times a year then something else happens and you start having panic attacks monthly or weekly and if anything else traumatic happens to you it’s gonna get worse. That’s when I knew it was time to seek help frfr.
