- Legendary OJ Da Juiceman brought his fire energy to talk to Adam about his rise, success, legacy, relationships with Gucci, Waka, Nicki Minaj, and much more!
-----
00:00 Intro
1:26 Adam was at the show where OJ was booed off stage in NY
3:03 OJ was also hurt that day says he was prolly at the wrong show, maybe too lyrical
4:25 OJ has no issue with lyrical rap he was just doing his own different thing
5:31 Being "on the corner" at 15 y/o, never left Georgia until he was booked for his first show
10:53 OJ was having fun with his music which was kinda the opposite expected for someone who stands in the corner all day
16:08 Discovering he has type 2 diabetes in 2008, used to p*ke profusely, couldn't stop p*ssing, then had bones issues
18:01 Got better, went from type 2 to type 1, but gotta take 3 shots a day
19:24 Baffled by catching diabetes but he was also not eating healthy so it was prolly bound to happen
20:28 OJ tried the yellow lean one day, was taken to the hospital two hours later
23:18 Adam wants kids to understand how bad lean is, they should learn from past rappers experiences
23:49 Metro Boomin was a youngin when he started working with OJ, who was one of the first to give him a chance
26:37 Metro used to come to his studio, stay a few days to work, says his beats were going crazy
28:15 OJ and Waka last year got into a back and forth after OJ called out his manager for bad business, his manager was Waka's mom, back when he OJ signed he was off the streets, no help na lawyer, so yes, he signed
29:57 Deb said in a interview that she indeed could have done better for OJ and regretted it
31:51 OJ was actually the only artist at the time so it wasn't really time management, just bad management
32:19 Nikki was always super cool, she still follows and support OJ to this day
33:24 OJ would be down to sign a female rapper, lot of them are poppin right now
34:59 OJ was bangin out a lot of features at some point, Adam wonders how much money he made
39:45 Having the "No Hook" placement on the tv show Atlanta was incredible
44:34 OJ left the streets alone after getting sh*t 8 times, got hit on the leg, jumped back in the car, stopped to drop the stuff, then drove to the hospital
46:01 OJ got robbed a few times, got into some scuffle, got put in a chokehold...
48:07 Caught a case in Tennessee, got the g*ns confiscated by the state to avoid the felony, walked away with a misdemeanor
52:55 Had to take w**d classes: "Google gave me the wrong answers"
55:15 The "short bus shawty" animation video was kinda iconic and viral at the time
57:03 Adam explains to OJ what a "blumpkin" is... OJ is baffled
58:12 OJ explains "rockin like cut off stockings" : "Means you're dawg! I rock with you, anything you need I got you!"
1:00:18 OJ and Soulja Boy little beef over adlibs, then they became friends
1:03:48 OJ got followed to the store and shot at while he was trying to get away, OJ says he didn't have his g*n on him coz he can't carry in a True Religion
1:07:39 OJ ran away in his underwear
1:09:33 Another situation happened, OJ got face to face with the dude, g*ns out, his g*n didn't work
1:15:40 OJ wants to get back to the status he had before, an undeniable artist to be reckoned with, a legend who does good business, just need a push and a little marketing

If u member rite oj was dope boy n didn’t really wanna be rapper he was to deep in them streets
@@vinnietalks2u-TikTok how was he overrated? Lol he really wasn’t even known like that fr unless you were in the south but oj is def. a southern rap legend.
The fact that all the comments is basically positive and giving oj his flowers just speaks volumes dude really left a stain the rap trap era
Oj always 💯 💶
Istg! Juice a legend!
Yeah, a shit stain!
I respect OJ for telling the ups and downs of street life and not overly glamorizing it.
Adam was really a fan. You can tell he not faking. Great interview.
😭 dats funny cause when he said “one of my fav rappers” I said “that is not one of yo fav rappers” 😂 literally came to da comments to see who else commented bout it , and da first comment was yours 😂 I was like “well maybe I’m wrong”
Oml bro
On God. Like you can tell when Adam doesn't give a damn about the artist in a interview. He was legit interested the entire interview, kept the conversation flowing perfectly and it really felt like a genuine interview. I was (kinda still am) a huge OJ fan and I would have been the same way.
and what's really dope is that OJ DA JUICEMAN was equally excited and a fan of Adam 22 & No Jumper
Definitely
OJ was ICONIC when I was in high school in Atlanta. EVERYBODY was bumping his shit in their cars, at parties, at clubs etc. I have countless memories to his music.
i just turned 24. OJ was popping when i was 8-12 in Alabama. same as ATL, you heard him in the clubs & in everyone’s cars
@@v0lium he had the whole south on lock

@@christinawatts593 I wouldn't say all that
I’m in Charlotte and this is facts!
OJ and Gucci Era was greatest of all time. They brought real trap music, wish it was still the same. Salute to Adam interviewing a real legend in the game.

CRAZY THAT OJ DON’T REALIZE HOW MUCH HE MEAN TO THE GAME AND HOW MUCH OF A LEGEND HE REALLY IS
Love this for Adam, the genuine enthusiasm and chemistry between them made for a great interview. Juice is southern royalty fa sho fa sho. I would love to see Adam and juice put out some more content.
Stunning!
Adam this is in the top 20 most important interviews you’ve done. Great job.
OJ and Gucci ran my Playlist from 08-09. Nothin but classics.
First interview I’ve ever seen that had me smiling ear to ear the whole time. No messy drama just two men showing love and respect to each other. Adam definitely gave Juice his flowers 💐💯
The interview you wanted but didn’t know you wanted😂
Oh no I been waiting for this! We know Adam love Gucci. Should be the same for the Legend O.J. He hasn't done Gucci or Flocka. This up the 1017 family branch. He's one of the prime rappers that made ad libs a major part of the rap game. To say the least.
@@jlzcreamgeta facts. Been waiting on this. OJ a legend.
Naw I knew I wanted this
Igh
Big Facts!
The amount of this man's music I listened to in high school....
So glad you guys did this interview!
So many of those all nite high school parties bumping cop a chicken dawg for the 18

Oj the juice 🍊 was sooo head of his time back in 2008 bruh! If he came out in this ERA we living in today. He would be no doubt one of the top artist in the game. 💯💯
OJ is a warrior with all these war stories. I'm glad he's here to talk about these situations. He could of almost died plenty of times.
This man influenced the game today so much. Really made adlibs more popular in hip hop. Name 1 rapper that sounds like Juicemane. So many classic tapes I still bump Juice frequently.
Hell yea his style of ad libs turned shit up. Jeezy kinda did it and gucci but he turned guccis style up crazy
Dipset helped start adlibs heavy, early to mid 2000s atl took it to the next level for sure
CULINARY ART SCHOOLLLLL
Great interview. The end was hilarious when Adam was about to close out then OJ starts his own outro and Adam smiles looking at him 😂
I like how Adam reassured OJ at the end that he’s still a big influence and he shouldn’t ever underrate himself

This man was so influential to my teenage years growing up learning how to hustle and take my own risk. I remember one time my gun got stolen when I was into chicago. I rode the train 4-5 hours straight back to Detroit listening to this one OJ song on repeat. Cant think of the name but I remember I’m sell my dope and try to duck these feds.
