Joe, your background knowledge on these cars is unmatched. Because of you now I know what the "ZR" in 'ZR1" stands for. 1064 HP!?!?! I feel like Doc Brown from Back To The Future when his younger self realized he needed 1.21 gigawatts of power to power the flux capacitor. The fact we get all this insane engineering and hypercar performance which will most likely be at a supercar price is mind blowing!
This represents the absolute pinnacle of Corvette engineering.1064 HP on pump gas with no electric motors or batteries to weigh it down while passing emissions and all with a warranty. Easily over 200+ MPH and the 1/4 mile in well under 10 seconds. That is INSANE! Now I know we are living in the future. Again, WOW!
I do have to add with the Hennessey F5, the Ford Mustang GTD and now this Corvette ZR1, America is serious about taking on the world. These "daily drivers" are putting up performance numbers that used to be considered science fiction and they all sound amazing doing it! I feel like we are seeing the pinnacle of internal combustion engine technology on display for all to see. What a time to be a car enthusiasts! Thank you again Joe and Lori for the great coverage! This is a moment in history!

I'm not a Corvette person but this is bad ass. I thought this car was going to be at least 800hp or 900hp, but 1064hp my reaction was wtf. If I ever win the lottery I would definitely get one of these. That's just unreal.

Spoiler alert: The Demon will lose in spectacular fashion. The reason GM developed the mid-engined C8 in the first place. Only so much traction a high hp rwd front engined car can generate, especially on an unprepped surface.

The best new Super car purchase to buy was my pre ordered 23' C8 1LT with the seventieth anniversary badging at MSRP, 64K . The car's a beast....For the money, it's the best bang for the buck.
Well, the Corvette team did not disappoint me. I was hoping to see about 950 to 980 hp Joe! Even bigger question is is Joe going to get one? I was born in 78 Joe I remember when the LT5 came out, that was pretty memorable for me that Corvette and the Supra.
We will have to see how it pans out! The original LT5 was freaking amazing for the time.

Joe thank you for this introduction to the C8 ZR-1. Wow I wasn’t expecting over 1000 horsepower…. 1064 & 828 lb.-ft of torque. I like that you can still get it in the convertible model!!!! I might have to trade my Porsche 911 Turbo S in on this mighty Corvette. I am still leery of the 5.5 L Flat-Plane crank for durability. Ferrari is still shaking their heads at Chevy going with such a large liter size engine. Ferrari always kept the size down around 4.0L. Great video‼️
It may be difficult to get this model! Please tell Lori that she is awesome!!! You guys make an awesome team together!!!! Would you prefer the Ford GTD over this ZR1. With a 1064 horsepower it may be quicker than the GTD. This ZR1 may be a bargain in comparison to the Ford GTD.

The LT7 is interesting. The turbos are on the exhaust manifold, so it's the same principle as the hot v mounted turbos but the mid engine gave them more room to mount on the side. Time will tell if this thing has good oil circulation or if it starts eating main/rod bearings.

Joe I'm a loyal subscriber.. mid 60-s...I've had many muscle cars..now still have my 19 Z06 Manuel coup...loven it!!!my car is basically stock other than exhaust mods..no way can I come ever close 2 ussen all the horse poweers this car has!!!unless urr a proff. race car driver...many people will get theirselves-destroyyed with this much power...great review.

What a day it was when I walked into Dimmit in Countryside and bought the first Z06 for 2007, an all black 7 litre naturally aspirated gem. I rushed thru the paperwork and even declined them wanting to fill it up with a free tank of gas because I couldn't wait to get it out on the roads. The 427 also didn't require a break in procedure so it was "on throttle" on US 19....
My dad had a 1990 ZR1. He would pick me up at elementary school in it. Later I drove it once before he sold it. Whoever he sold it to got a steal of a deal. I wish he never sold it. I want one of These..nay, I need one! LOL

I kinda still rather have a 911 Turbo S even with less hp, high hp and awd makes a huge difference. My brother and I built a 1400 hp c6 z06 (manual transmission) and it just was out of control even doing 190+ in 1/2 mile race. It was a passion project for sure, to bad new owner wrecked it few months ago.
For lesser $$ BMW M240i Xdrive AWD inline 6 would be nice. Not good lookibg car, but for performance and aftermarket support are nice.
I’m a Ford guy at heart but man I love the corvette in general. C7 and C8 are awesome. Imo I don’t like how the C8 stingray looks because I see them everywhere lmao but I love how the C8 Z06, Eray, and now the ZR1 looks. That’s my new dream car right there 1000+hp without electric motors Lets freaking go!!!

I dont think ill ever stop being a GM man. We have a camaro that runs 198mph, a cadillac that runs 200mph and a corvette that run 215mph.

Makes sense they twin turboed a flat plane crank V8 that is 37-40% bigger in displacement than Ferrari and McLaren so makes sense why this Vette is pulling almost the same percentage in HP increase Chevy really took it to the next level with this powertrain

Corvette has currently left its bases and has entered the Supercar range, and this is something that Corvette has been working on for quite some time and as all Corvette enthusiasts already know. Corvettes have been credited for their speed and their performance and the light weight of the vehicle with the fiberglass body and they have had some moments where the horsepower went down and they've had some moments where the horsepower has raised back up and that's where we're at now but they are breaking barriers down completely with this new ZR1 over a thousand horsepower that is amazing. A lot of people would not even know how to handle such horsepower like this because not any just average driver could just jump in this car and push the pedal straight to the floor in this extremely powerful car because this thing could get away from you. I know there's a lot of people out there that think they can drive about anything and there are some people out there with those kind of capabilities but some of the ones that think they can do it would end up wrapped around a tree somewhere. I haven't heard myself with the official pricing of this car is going to be but I would take a guess and would say probably will be in the upper 100 range or lower $200,000 range but I probably would lean more towards the $200,000 range because you are purchasing a lot of car here and GM knows that.
