As someone who just obsessively watches sourdough videos but has yet to start my journey 🫠, I have no idea what my favourite tool would be, but a good dutch oven is at the top of my wishlist!
My favorite tools are UA-cam videos like this that help me learn. I would love to get the cutting tools to do the designs in the bread. I love that part of the creative process!
I don't have my favorite tool yet, but I want a ceramic bowl! I use glass which is ok, but it's not that cozy, vintage feel of a ceramic bowl. 🥰🥰 I love your videos, please keep them coming!
My fav tool is my scale. It helps me accurately measure all my ingredients so that I can have a better chance at a successful bake! Thanks for the great video of knowledge 😊
I love using my hands to work with the dough and feeling it at different stages throughout the process. Shaping the dough before the final proof is such a therapeutic feeling for me that absolutely nothing can replace ❣️
My favorite tool so far has actually been my glass salad spinner bowl. That’s what I make all my bread in. Trying to learn the basics before investing more into it.
I am fairly new to sourdough baking but my bench scraper is incredibly useful as I work with the dough-making the process easier for dividing the dough and just gives me joy getting the dough bits off my counter-it is the little things. 🍞🥖🥰
I am brand new to sourdough and I am learning all the things! I am going to be on the hunt for a bowl I love to use for mixing. Currently I out of everything I have I would say my Staub Dutch oven is my favorite tool!
I love that you shared both the beautiful nice tools and ones that you have already in your kitchen! ❤My favorite sourdough tool is your bread mats (they are awesome!) and my Staub Dutch oven!
I’ve been making sourdough for several years now….I’ve had the fancy tools but in general I don’t use anything other than a good bowl and my hands. I love my weck jars for feeding my starter and banneton baskets to proof and shape the dough.
I love those silicon mats… and the pans and the crocks… I use the glass Weck jars for starter and leven and discard. I have crock bowls and the baniton baskets… I have top lid Dutch ovens I can’t flip. I have double ovens so part of me would LOVE the pan to be different- I need to update my ovens though because they are so different as they are small. Also I took your class 2 years ago. My daughter has celiacs and since I have been trying to do this GF… ugh… I keep trying. But Love it ALL!!!
My favourite tool are the ones I have 🤭 Still trying to invest in all the things sourdough! I do have a dough whisk that I love! Would love your master class to help give me the encouragement and motivation I need!
I have to say that a nice bowl is actually my favorite tool for sourdough. I have gotten away without having all the other "fancy" tools - especially when I was first starting out with bread making - but a good bowl has always been a must. I use a clear glass bowl because I like to see how my dough is fermenting. ❤️
My favorite is a thrifted pottery bowl to mix/ferment my dough, as well as banneton baskets. Can’t imagine unmasking loaves without these things. Currently use mason jars for my starter, but the crocs are on my bucket list!
Thanks for sharing the tools you love! New to sourdough, but am loving my enamel Dutch, would love to try the pottery crocks, they’re beautiful! And a better lame to use ❤
I have banneton baskets and do love those! But I love the look of those crocks! I love the small bread lame too! I have a long one I got from Amazon, but the small one seems like it would be easier to control. I got some silicone bread mats too and those are a game changer! Such fun things!
I make Kamut Bread a lot. I have your cookbook and am now ready to get started learning sourdough. This video was very helpful. The lame & case you shared look amazing. I’m sure a tool like that would be my favorite. For now, I need to get my own starter going. Thanks for all your great videos.
I have a dutch oven but I feel that it's too deep. I have added the one you have to my Amazon wish list. Your bread lame looks excellent as well. My favourite tool is my starter jar. It's nothing fancy but it works great!
I ordered your bread mats and crock last week!! ❤ I’m sure those will become favorites, but for now I cannot image making my boules without the lodge cast iron Dutch oven!
I got so into nice pottery lately, maybe it is aging😂😂😂😂 but beautiful big thrifted pottery bowl is a must! I also would love to find those pottery crocks to have for starter❤❤❤❤
Wow.... that lady from the Shinning hasn't aged at all! LOL just kidding. Thanks for the tips, love watching and getting ideas. I've been baking sour dough for a few years now, but still have an occasional flop. Can't seem to get an open crumb?
I am subscribed to all your channels and my favourite tool is your book I just downloaded. I am in the process of getting my sourdough starter started. Can you use a strong bread flour to make sourdough.
I need a detailed video on how you can tell that the bulk fermentation is complete. Is it by temperature? Amount of growth? Amount of time? bubbles? Stretchy? So many conflicting videos with zero examples for beginners to see.

My favourite tool is the bannetons! When I first started, I didn’t own them so I used a bowl and a tea towels. Bannetons made it SO much easier!
My fav tool is my scale. It helps me accurately measure all my ingredients so that I can have a better chance at a successful bake!
Thanks for the great video of knowledge 😊
I’m so glad you found it helpful!
I love using my hands to work with the dough and feeling it at different stages throughout the process. Shaping the dough before the final proof is such a therapeutic feeling for me that absolutely nothing can replace ❣️
I like my silicone bread mat. The fact that I can use it over and over is so nice!
Looks like I'm going to need those bread mats! I love my Danish dough whisk for when I don't want to get too much dough under my nails 😂
I am pretty new to sourdough but when i finally got and used a banneton basket instead of just a bowl, it made my loaves so much prettier!
They really are a game changer.
My favorite tool is my hands. I love to get my hands in the dough when making bread. But I also love a beautiful stoneware bowl!😍
Love the lame because one can get creative with design 🌟
I love using it for that exact reason!
My favorite tool so far has actually been my glass salad spinner bowl. That’s what I make all my bread in. Trying to learn the basics before investing more into it.
Lol this is exactly what I use tooo!!!😂only big bowl I have! Asked for a huge bowl fir Christmas 😅
I am fairly new to sourdough baking but my bench scraper is incredibly useful as I work with the dough-making the process easier for dividing the dough and just gives me joy getting the dough bits off my counter-it is the little things. 🍞🥖🥰
My favorite tool is my silicone bread mat. I would love to try the crocks to keep my starter in!
My bench scraper is definitely my favorite next to a good sharp razor blade to make a pretty design

That’s awesome! It’s really about what you love to use.
I love my dough hook, I use it all the time!
The bread mat. It makes handling the bread easier and safer. Keeps my bread bottom from burning.

Bread mats! But saving for a crock and weck jars
For me it's a tie between my bowl sets or my bakeware is my favorite. But I'd LOVE to have better bowl wraps and crocks or starter jars.
