I love your take,we should consider the commoditization of the materials required for production!! More cars are sold than Audiophile Systems. In the whole scheme what we buy as HiFi is just crumbs that drop off the table . As a teenager I loved car audio today personally could care less. The true downside more expectation for Plug & Play Audio Macintosh is the last in the group that has not made a plug it in an turn it on device. Wait:RS150 Wireless Loudspeaker 75th Anniversary Edition I stand corrected!!! Now I remember my Toyota Supra being recalled because BMW actually made it with a defect.
Well, if a company can improve it's bottom line by increasing its offerings, it only stands to reason to do so. Right now, our whole industry is suffering miserably and I will talk about that in another video with well known brands in deep financial trouble not because of their product per se but that the investment groups paid way too much for them while the demand is now declining. Well, I know a few audiophiles who got their undies in a pinch over it and they just don't see or understand the whole picture. It is impossible to tell what the long term effects will be to the brand in terms of prestige. That's a hard one to call as those brands may get a wider recognition amongst those unfamiliar with the brand on one side vs the brand name being diluted. In any event, that's likely to be a long term question and certainly not likely in the near term. Thank you for your comment and please tell others about our channel and maybe they too will subscribe and enjoy the other 210 plus videos.
There are two things I hope to see out of this. One the mighty Bose marketing arm behind these two products. Albeit McIntosh already has a lot of brand recognition to non-members of the hobby. I would like to see Sonus Faber also become a household name. Second, would be the Bose genius for lifestyle systems filtering into the McIntosh and Sonus Faber fold. Sadly, young people do not listen to music the same way Boomers do. I would like to see products from McIntosh and Sonus Faber provide a high-quality gear that caters to the way young folks listen to music.
Well, we shall see what occurs over the next year or so. The first thing that will need to happen is a full review of both operations to understand how they operate. I did corporate takeovers, two of the worlds' largest at that time, and the first step is to fully understand what you have purchased and what assets are immediately available. As for marketing those brands with cheaper products, which is what you are talking about, risks the dilution of reputation. So, for example, if Rolex (or any other really high end watch company) started to make digital watches like Apple, do you think that would help the aura of Rolex? I think not. But, we shall see.

That’s a great perspective. I love my McIntosh MA352 and Sonus Faber Sonetto 3’s.
