Wohoo! Another privacy episode! Great job Sun! Thank you so so much for all of these videos! Also, just curious but what do you think of Ubuntu’s security? It’s my main OS now :)
Hey Chuck, thanks for the push! I haven't explored mainstream Linux distro security. My gut feeling is macOS would likely be much more secure, but less private. A friend of mine recommended Parrot OS a while ago which looks like a good usable privacy and security distro. So far, I use macOS as my daily driver and Tails for sensitive use cases... that said, I am hoping to switch daily driver to Linux sometime this year.
@@sunknudsen Why would macOS be more secure than a Linux distro like debian/rhel? macOS is closed sourced and Apple is known for poor security. Remember the bug in High Sierra that allowed anyone to log in to macOS without a password in a few attempts?
Hello Sun, I love your videos. I want to ask you 2 things. 1.- Do you recommend an antivirus systems for mac? if so, which one. and 2.- What do you think about Brave browser. Thanks a lot.
Hey, so if I create the 24 word seed wallet for my trezor model t on electrum using the hardware wallet method, is are the private keys still offline? Is it essentially the same as using trezorctl?
Hi Sun, would you recommend to buy bitcoin and ether from trezor exchange or binance, kraken? Because shakepay and bull bitcoin are all canadian residents only. And on custodial exchanges there are transaction + withdrawal fees. Do you have any recommendations?
What is your current recommendation for the most secure manner in storing ERC20. For BTC, I really like the SeedSigner airgapped approach leveraging Rasberry Pi. But haven't found similar for ERC20. Have Trezor. Have Laptop that I'm prepared to run Tails or some other Linux variant on. Happy to encrypt my drives using Veracrypt. But I'm curious what your thoughts are now given it's been a couple years since this Tails/Trezor video.
Great video! I have successfully installed Trezorctl 3.9 on my Mac. I am trying to migrate my ledger seed (Legacy HD path) to a Trezor model T but have found the derivation path of Legacy is not standard on Trezor. I believe there is a way to allow this path on Trezor but am not sure how to to do so with command line. Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks!
Unfortunately no. You can use my ether wallet to see your coins but you can’t change the derivation path on Trezor. I ended up using a new seed for Trezor and migrated coins to it.
Hey Sun, or anyone. I really need this guide, but for some reason executing "trezorctl firmware-update" returns a connection error for me. A bunch of lines referring to .py packages and same error everywhere "[Errno 111] Connection refused" I'm running latest tails and trezorctl sees the device as connected, so it's fine. but it looks like tails can't connect to servers to update firmware. I'm using regular "non root" command line on tails anyone has any clues? thanks

Hey, please reach out on github.com/sunknudsen/privacy-guides/discussions.
Hey Sun just wondering what is the difference between MAC and HWID?
Write the index of each word when you the words.
Good suggestion!
