Hey everyone, this is my first time reviewing a game so do let me know if there is anything I need to work on for future reviews! I had to cut a lot of content out because this video would have ended up being half an hour long otherwise. In case you're wondering, I won't be exclusively covering horse titles. It's just I recently picked Horse Tales up and saw so many people asking if it was worth it. Thanks for watching and have an awesome day!
It's great to see you around again, I'm looking forward to more of your game reviews! I like how you covered pretty much every important aspect of the game, detailing pros and cons in an honest but also really nice way. Side note, I find your videos relaxing to listen to, so I hope you'll post more soon! Much love from Brazil, and thanks for helping us make informed decisions!
You know, what Horse Games really need is a Red Dead Redemption 2 that is G rated and full of exploration for legendary horses, loads more care for the horses, breeding, stable upgrades, and lots more detail into the uses of equipment upgrades and customisation... just all about the horses. I'd play that!
I bought it as soon as it was available to purchase and I don't regret it even though I agree with everything you said. I honestly didn't even realize the main questline was only ten quests long because I did a LOT of exploring before finishing it. I really like exploring in games and this game scratched that itch for me. I got about 13-14 hours of playtime out of it and I think that is my money's worth. I wanted to get into breeding but it just gets too expensive. The resource collection is waaay too tedious, especially without having fast travel.
I have had this one my Steam wishlist for a while but have had bad experiences with these types of games before so was kinda waiting and Im glad I did. But, I was just looking that the latest announcement from the devs and apparently fast travel is coming. Ill cut and paste from the update: "Upcoming Improvements Apart from Bugfixes (and after greenlight from Microids), we’re also planning to take some commonly requested improvements to heart and will be hopefully tackling these soon: Misc. Performance Improvements to reduce resolution scaling (blurriness) on Switch Extended Camera settings based on commonly reported issues with the current camera Balancing adjustments, specifically for easier access to peppermints* Fast-Travel between home bases (Emerald Estate and Homesteads), once each base has been reached once * Note: If the peppermint balancing is currently keeping you from breeding horses, remember that the treats needed for breeding depend on what the parent horses prefer. Horses that prefer apples, carrots or sunflowers tend to make for easier keepers!" For now I am still going to hold off, but if they build it out more and fix some of the flaws as they promise, I might pick it up.
I was really let down when I spent $40 on this game for the switch to realize it’s a blurry, pixelated mess. Didn’t feel worth the money. I still enjoy playing it, I just wish it looks better
This was a WONDERFUL review! Loved it! Hard to believe this is your first time reviewing a game! Honestly thought you'd been doing this for a while! lol. Incredible job!
You can build houses on the other buildable areas to sleep, though. Especially the one at the top left (beach area) is useful when you want to get the really good wild horses. Sometimes you’re lucky and have the bug where you can rebuild the sand castle there infinitely, and most resources can be found literally near your estate. If people only just took the time to really look, they’d know that sugar cubes, sun flowers and apples are super close by (in front of the Felix estate, go to the left for sunflowers. Near the cars is a small shed thing with sugar cubes. The fisher with a breeding stable has multiple sugar cubes at the houses. Then go up to the first race you unlocked, and if you look at the map, on the left side are a bunch of sun flowers behind the wild horses. Then teleport back to the estate, go to Kikkis place, get the carrots, go to Matteo, ask for spare wood, collect the wood which has one maple stack near the entrance to the forrest, get the sugar cubes at the rock in the little forest area, collect his carrots as well, go back home, build carrot and sunflower fields, maybe an apple orchard as well thanks to the apple tree that’s literally on your own farm) Maybe I’m just a big collector, but I hardly ever have any shortages when I get into the breeding mood. The game makes it very easy to get everything food related without having to go far. That said, the developers are still working on fixing glitches on every platform, and improving performance and graphics on the switch. Which, by the way, runs it pretty smoothly if you consider that you need frigging 16gb of RAM and graphics cards from the future to play this on PC, and even the play stations are lagging. It’s perfectly playable and in the tight areas like the 'tubes' when you go into Felix estate, where the camera is very close, the graphics are absolutely perfect. I really really don’t understand all the complaints from people. I grew up with super pixelated horse games for the first ever gameboys, that had zero tutorials. Compared to that, this game is a treat. And the developers listen to feedback, so maybe you will all get your so cherished fast travel buttons. Sheesh. Sarcasm incoming: Funnily enough, it’s often people who play some sort of racing games who complain about not having fast travelling. But will sit there for 5 minutes racing the same track 3 times to beat a high score. But woe me having to ride for 3 minutes to a specific place in a relatively open world that’s beautifully created, where I get to collect more resources that I might need in an hour when I randomly decide to build xyz. Okay rant over XD
Hey, twin lol. Haha, you and me both, we're both ranty. Anyways i got this coming tommorow, i got it physically and that was supposed to come out on the 3rd already but it was delayed. Anyways maybe they took this time to make a fix or something..
Thanks for this i love the game, and especially the riding! I love horses in games as i cannot ride in real life anymore, and i have spent sooooo many hours riding my horses in red dead redemption, still do btw and yes i know its not a horse game lol, but its nice to have a new game on the side. I am a collecter of horse games on any system haha btw i am 59 years old and live in the Netherlands
So Xenay, should I just grab the switch edition, or PC? 😂 I’m only assuming my PC will manage it, it was built to play VR, but with games using Unreal Engine 5 it can get a little laggy or sputtery.
Honestly, just found this game today totally by accident and It looks absolutely stunning. It seems like my kind of game, I wish there were a few more aspects in it, maybe some additional crafting or farming/fishing, But I think this is one of the first games I have found that seems to have a very in depth breeding system, and I LOVE breeding and genetics. I am definitely going to pick up this game, was going to grab it for the switch, but I'm thinking after seeing that comparison I miiiight just have to get if for PC instead haha. thank you so much for making this review, it was definitely very helpful and I think you hit all the important topics in the review, Not to mention you were short, sweet, and to the point and didn't ramble on about unnecessary things like many reviewers tend to, So if your going to continue making reviews, I will definitely come back here and check them out!
Thank you for reviewing! I’m trying to decide between switch vs pc, and it’s good to know from comment section that the devs are working on the graphics/performance issues. Ohhh tough decision.
Thank you for your Review, it actually helped me decide if I should get the game or not. You can do this more often, was a really good one. Keep it up! :)
Thank you!! I’ve been waiting to get this before I knew more about it, the graphics are just not it for me. I’m into longer type quests and taking my time on the game. I do wish they had a mini-map, that would be quite helpful in ask massive world. Again, thank you for reviewing this, it helped out a lot:)
A minimap would have made it so much easier navigating some of the really narrow trails for sure. Though I'd love it if they could fix the main map too cause it's not 100% accurate either 😅
I bought the game on the switch and beside the major lagging in certain areas and structures like my stable and home in my estate not uploading. I come across the game crashing when I open the map and the auto save not working at all. I tried playing and lost so much good stats horses because the game crashed.
I downloaded this game recently and started it yesterday and it doesn't matter to me if it's not the best looking game graphically or that it has a few glitches I really enjoy it I think it's a beautiful game and it's really fun
I liked a lot of the horse aspects of this game but want so much more! I want Harvest Moon aspects to this too; fishing, farming, and romance! I'd also like to interact with buildings and foliage and have much more character development. Is there anything out there like that?
Thank you for this, I’ve been holding off on snagging it and will probably give it a pass. And I agree, the Switch port looking as bad as it does is unacceptable, why even release it there if they had to cut the graphics so heavily?
Thank you for uploading this! I was excited for this game to come out on the Switch as most of the horse games on the platform are made for prepubescent children. Unfortunately, however, it seems like it has serious performance issues per your review and what others have said. I’m seriously holding out for a decent horse game on the Switch that isn’t made for little girls. 😅
Thank god i pirtated it. This game is INSANELY glitchy. Understandable but its so so annoying. Cannot run around without my horse INSTANTLY getting multiple bad traits & when you FINNALLY get them away they're back in a minute. I cannot finishes races cause the horse gets stressed.
That's kinda disappointing amd sad. Taming is so basic to a point that it made RDR2's horse taming system as the most advance system ever made. The cleaning shouldve also been interactive too. I mean imagine using the analog stick/mouse to control the arm that holds the brush and moving the stick/mouse to simulate brushing and take some liberties with Power Wash Simulator when washing our horses instead of hosing the places the game wants you to wash. People love PWS for a reason.
Oh shoot it does look like them does it 😱 No, I didn't mean to do this! The horse in the thumbnail was my favourite mare which you'll see a few time in the review. The character was just how I made her. Sorry for the confusion 🙏
I dont understand about people and bugs and stuff..i mean when they complain about it lol, yeah i get annoyed at game breaking bugs, like there is still this one bug in Skyrim for switch and apparently it was never fixed even when it originally came out on pc, its been there for 10 or more years , all the sudden my horse and me will hover in the air & i cant do anything except restart my game, or either dismount, but non of the other buttons work, it locks. I couldnt care less about glitches or bugs unless it prevents me from playing further or really actually hinders my enjoyment of it, like REALLY hinders it🤔 like crashing.., i really don't think half the bugs in games these days don't do crap like that🤔 its just that people are so whiny these days & want a game to be perfect from the get go lol. Back in my day when we had games you couldnt even patch them like you can now, so i'd keep my yap shut and just be thankful. , we arent entitled to it, & its not a rite, its a privilege. All you need to do is have patience, as far as ive heard, these devs are good, & listen to feedback and are probably working on a patch right now. And also, its funny when everyone gets in an uproar about price range, i bet most have spend millions on the latest computer to run their 4k crap lol, cuz i assume most are of the PV crowd right? whats another 60 dollars to them.
I also want to bet that at least half of the players don’t even know that the horses have lead changes. The devs really put so much work into the animations and details that it pains me when people have nothing better to do than complain about superficial things. Not directed at you, just from the comments I see everywhere. Like. No one told them to buy the game. I was too much into my rant earlier, I completely forgot to thank you for this video, with actual criticism and suggestions, so for real, thank you for this 🙏🏻 I’m hoping the developers will continue to make updates on this game, with maybe a few more side quests like winning 2 races, to unlock more tack or clothes maybe. It really has too much potential for it to end there (of course I’m talking about after the bug fixes etc). I would also be very open for a sequel of this game in the future, simply because of how much feedback they do get from a few players and are willing to listen. And who knows, maybe in five years they’ll bring out the new best horse game that everyone simply HAS to play. They definitely got the potential.
Totally understand your points. And yes, a lot of people tend to fall for the marketing when it comes to games nowadays. Bro fr they seriously false advertised it on switch
Most horse games look awful on switch
@Two Whippys yea but the trailer was so misleading 😭 I thought the $40 price tag made it legit. Big mistake
How was it today?
On the glitch lite it would be horrible. I downloaded Palia and i can't see. I need to upgrade to get a new switch
This was a WONDERFUL review! Loved it! Hard to believe this is your first time reviewing a game! Honestly thought you'd been doing this for a while! lol. Incredible job!

The devs are still working on a patch to fix the issues with performance, bugs and graphics on the switch.
@@xenay911 They should’ve held off on the Switch port then, it’s giving Cyberpunk 2077 launch vibes. 😅

Comment avez-vous réussi à avoir Spirit s'il vous plaît ? Je n'arrive pas à avoir sa couleur en faisant un poulain
Hello
Please how did you get the horse that looked like the horse from spirit
I just need to find out where the second dark area is to pet my horse to get it over its fear of the dark. 😩
I hit up the forest already. I tried in a cave near that kids house. Some tim kid. But I cant think of any other dark area that might work??
I do love just riding around... but I don't feel like the price point on this game is worth just doing that
I have watched all of your rdr horses video, plz do the gypsy cob review.
I have the saving bug so couldn’t play anymore 2 days after purchasing…🙁😳
Where can i get the Bukskin?
Omg it’s a full priced game that’s shocking, ten quests. What is it, a call of duty
3:30 the gray horse’s tail was abnormal…. 😭
Mayby it comes more uptates 🙇🏼♀️
