The tags you’re cutting off allow you to take the panels off if you ever need to later without ripping paint off your drywall. They’re not indicating in the instructions that you yank them off, they’re telling you that’s how you take them off the wall. They’re assuming you’ve used command strips before.
The pieces of paper you said were for protection are stencils

    • @rarityd

Lol don't try to use those thing wax paper as “stencils” or it would caused you to punching holes to that wall out of frustration ROFL

Also a quick note to add. The paper is also used to create designs to see how your design will look before putting the actual lights on the wall.

I found your vid just looking through videos about setup and creating scenes... You do a great job of explaining how to set them up. When I first got mine, the lights would lose connection to the internet every once in a while and I'd have to unplug the power and plug it back in... Luckily the recent update has corrected that issue. I named mine LIGHTS so when I wake up in the morning I just say "OK Google, lights on" or "lights off" when it's bedtime. I wish there was a way to change scenes thru Google devices, but I guess going through my phone is fine. Keep up the good work and I just liked and subscribed to see more of your videos. Have a good one!

The tabs are when you want to remove them from the wall, so you pull the tag and it will detach from the wall without ripping off your paint
