The Ramones to us nowadays don't seem particularly impressive or talented to a lot of us, but that comes from not understanding how different they were and how influential they were, they pioneered punk rock and even thrash metal
All you said is true. But they weren't great live. At least not in the larger venues they were playing at this point in their careers. I could listen to their studio work all day for weeks. But them live is another story.
I thought the "rumour" was that Johnny wouldn't do this live 'cos he liked Reagan so much?!?! There are a lot of videos that show that wasn't the case! Joey sounds....like he's heading towards the end. CJ does a good job...
@@kendrickconnelly3292 This is also why the song was often credited as "My Brain Is Hanging Upside Down" because he didn't want Reagan to be connected to Bonzo the monkey.
It was a hit over seas and was a hit on us college radio, John wasn’t an idiot and played what the fans liked, especially in the 90’s he was planning his retirement already.
I thought that was a pretty f'ing awesome peformance for late ramones era. And yes, Dee Dee was better than CJ, BUT.... CJ helped bring new energy back to the band when Dee Dee was burnt out and wanting to start a rap career.
Anyone notice at the end of vid CJ isn't singing but you can still hear his backing vocals? Was it a failed attempt at a Lip sync or just an overdub for the DVD?
No way whatsoever an overdub because of Joey's vocals. Listen to Loco Live, that was definitely overdubbed on studio. Both audio and video are out of sync.
You've got to pick up the pieces C'mon, sort your trash You better pull yourself back together Maybe you've got too much cash Better call, call the law When you gonna turn yourself in? Yeah You're a politician Don't become one of Hitler's children Bonzo goes to Bitburg then goes out for a cup of tea As I watched it on TV somehow it really bothered me Drank in all the bars in town for an extended foreign policy Pick up the pieces My brain is hanging upside down I need something to slow me down Shouldn't wish you happiness, wish her the very best Fifty thousand dollar dress Shaking hands with your highness See through you like cellophane You watch the world complain, but you do it anyway Who am I, am I to say Bonzo goes…
Joey voice is totally shot ,i think this would have been the time he started to get ill,and his drinking did`nt help.Seeing Joey in a bad way CJ told him that he should `say something ` when Johnny heard about this he threatened to have CJ sacked.
Johnny got mad cuz they used to give Joey off and he would go throw parties and do projects, he wouldn’t use the time to rest. So Joey brought it on himself. He didn’t threaten to sack CJ he just told him to learn to keep his mouth shut and to not get involved.
What´s hap? with the backing vocals on the final part?? watch eem!! Cj is not singing!!, but still hear the chorus. watch!! Sorry for muy so fucking bad english.
joey ramone has one of the most iconic voices in the history of music
Obras Sanitarias 1993.
this song kicks a million asses
How about butts? Or like we say in Norwegian - dette sparket virkelig rompe!
Respect from Argentina to the best punk band ever!!
The Ramones to us nowadays don't seem particularly impressive or talented to a lot of us, but that comes from not understanding how different they were and how influential they were, they pioneered punk rock and even thrash metal
100%
They have a place in musical history
All you said is true. But they weren't great live. At least not in the larger venues they were playing at this point in their careers. I could listen to their studio work all day for weeks. But them live is another story.
Even Lemmy Kilmister wrote R.A.M.O.N.E.S. God bless his soul... Ramones was, and still they are one of the best rock bands ever, period.
Were you on psilocybin when you Said that?
the best drunk voice ever
Shane mc Gowan
If I could ever go back in time to see one band it would be these guys. I really wish I could.

Once again, thanks Dee Dee for this masterpiece

He played it live a lot but still wasn't a fan of the song. But it was a popular song
@@kendrickconnelly3292 This is also why the song was often credited as "My Brain Is Hanging Upside Down" because he didn't want Reagan to be connected to Bonzo the monkey.
I think he enjoyed playing it despite all that. He looks like hes having fun lol
It was a hit over seas and was a hit on us college radio, John wasn’t an idiot and played what the fans liked, especially in the 90’s he was planning his retirement already.
This is so fuckin amazing. Joey's voice sounds so badass in this version and that's the reason why its impossible to make a good cover of this song.
he sounds like a badass

Cj's vocal part had a backing vocal?
@spitfirewarrior
Johnny's on the guitar, Joey is vocals.
Both audio and video are out of sync.
who's doing the ahh na na na on the last chorus??
+bandit217 CJ is doing it. The bad video edition cuts this part and put another part of the video, keeping the music
@@miojo414 I was wondering the same thing
😍
You've got to pick up the pieces
C'mon, sort your trash
You better pull yourself back together
Maybe you've got too much cash
Better call, call the law
When you gonna turn yourself in? Yeah
You're a politician
Don't become one of Hitler's children
Bonzo goes to Bitburg then goes out for a cup of tea
As I watched it on TV somehow it really bothered me
Drank in all the bars in town for an extended foreign policy
Pick up the pieces
My brain is hanging upside down
I need something to slow me down
Shouldn't wish you happiness, wish her the very best
Fifty thousand dollar dress
Shaking hands with your highness
See through you like cellophane
You watch the world complain, but you do it anyway
Who am I, am I to say
Bonzo goes…
They still looked young in the 90s but the main singer voice changed ass he got older..
Vollypink I know this is 92 but after the Cancer Joey's voice changed a lot, kinda sad.
He was dying of lymphoma at the time it must be said...
his voice sounds better than ever here
@andrebonadio hahaha was joey really drunk?
Who's singing backing vocals on last chorus??
Pensei a mesma coisa!
É o CJ mesmo.
Na edição do vídeo pegaram uma imagem dele fora do mic, daí ficou estranho.
O vídeo ta editado errado, ficou bizarro.
isso foi um elogio mané
Who hates this song is a dork how I’m the only person who likes it
😐
incrivel ! voz de bebado perfeita !!!
Joey voice is totally shot ,i think this would have been the time he started to get ill,and his drinking did`nt help.Seeing Joey in a bad way CJ told him that he should `say something ` when Johnny heard about this he threatened to have CJ sacked.
he was ill for 9 years??
Johnny got mad cuz they used to give Joey off and he would go throw parties and do projects, he wouldn’t use the time to rest. So Joey brought it on himself. He didn’t threaten to sack CJ he just told him to learn to keep his mouth shut and to not get involved.
@letsgoskate691 maybe yes, maybe no... but his vocals are something like drunk voice, and that´s nice.
but he was drinking a lot for a time
0 dislikes!!!!!
School of rock... 2006
Todos somos Joey Ramone
Is this the earliest ever example of auto-tune?
xD
My favorite frontman sorry James but Joey boy is pissed here and he used it as fuel. What a great and terrible thing
In Performance about
CJ >>>>>> Dee Dee
What´s hap? with the backing vocals on the final part?? watch eem!! Cj is not singing!!, but still hear the chorus. watch!!
Sorry for muy so fucking bad english.
LO MISMO ACABO DE VER RECIÉN, SIGUE EL CORO DE CJ PERO EN EL VÍDEO SOLAMENTE TOCA EL BAJO, SEGURAMENTE UN ERROR DE EDICION
Cristian Avila he's not playing the right chords either on that part of you notice jus a slip in editing
Is CJ in the bass??
yep
It's hard to think CJ's a skinhead now :P
the Ramones and Malvinas (Falklands) are Argentine
Maybe you've got too much cash
damn this song sucks live gotta be real man :C
Well, joey was dying of cancer at this time, is sad and you need to understand that he didnt had the same vocal habilities like in the 70s
@@kelpocoverzzzthey also played 40 songs in an hour so I guess Joey would be tyred
