- This 4k octopus video shows you how an octopus mate and fall in love. The pairing could be go wrong for the octopus and can end in death but after this octopus mating everything was fine. I spotted this camouflaged octopus while snorkeling in Egypt. This 4k octopus video was filmed with the GoPro 7 in 4k 60fps. Octopuses are just awesome, even more when their in love and showing up their mating behavior. I hope you will or did enjoy my very special underwater encounter in Egypt.
One of the octopus arms (male) is a special sex-arm which is used for mating with an other octopus (female). A male octopus will insert his hectocotylus into the female's octopus mantle cavity and deposit spermatophores (sperm packets). This process may take up to several hours, depending on the species. The male octopus dies soon after mating, but the female octopus has to live on to lay the eggs, which aren't ready immediately. Death comes because the octopus has used up all of his body's energy in growing, then in mating. The number of eggs an octopus can produce & lay, varies by species. Octopus can lay up to as many as 200.000 eggs.

Hi Ramy and thank you 🙂 For this 4k octopus video I didn't use a filter. I do a color correction and other settings in post processing. For editing my GoPro underwater footage I use a semi-professional software : Magix VDL 2019.

@@DiveDiscover Ive really only started to learn about octopuses about 6 months ago! But...since then, I have become a virtual sponge about EVERYTHING octopus!! You probably wont believe this...but, its a true story! Many, many years ago, I proposed the theory that octopuses could NOT be native to Earth! I said this because, when life evolves on a planet, it would ALL evolve in the best way to suit THAT environment. And, if you believe that, then you MUST ultimately conclude that, given the octopuses freakish evolution, it MUST have evolved to a certain degree elsewhere! This is because, if such is the case, there WOULD be other life forms here that would have evolved in the same way as the octopus! And there is NO life form here (apart from the octipodae genus) that has evolved to have such morphing capabilities!! Not even ONE other life form on Earth has color-changing and texture-changing capabilities! (no...not even the chameleon! lol, because it only changes color to match its moods. Not environment!) Several years after my theory, scientists did indeed test their DNA and discovered that they are not from Earth! They came from somewhere else in space! The octopus is Earth's first CONFIRMED alien! of course, those scientists propose that they are most likely here because they rode in on some comet. I disagree! I believe that they were brought here by other alien species! (But THAT is a discussion for a different channel!) LOL!
