When my family came to this country I was 12 years old. We came here legally waited over 5 years to get our papers and came in the right way. After I finished school I wanted to give a little back of what this great country has done for me and my family, so i enlisted in the Marines. This was in 2003, after completing training and school I was deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan, and after my experiences I can tell you all of us that live in this country are fortunate to be Americans. I am proud to have been able to serve my country and to have given back a little. America isnt perfect but is sure is better then some of the place I was sent too.

@@damoab1909then where do you think black people would be today if not for the Emancipation Proclamation (the Federal document Lincoln signed that freed the slaves)? That’s the whole thing, we don’t even have to even wonder about that, bc Lincoln signed it. He made it happen. Despite death threats in the process and ultimately his own assassination. They were free in the eyes of God, of course. Not in the eyes of the state (Government) though, and there’s a big difference. Lincoln “became” the state and ended that crap. The Emancipation Proclamation *formally* ended slavery in the U.S. and i think anything short of giving Lincoln the full credit he’s due for that, is an attempt to literally re-write history. Sure North Koreans are free right now, but are they, “really”?? What I’m saying is, the formal declaration of freedom was most definitely crucial in this case. Crazy to pretend like it somehow wasn’t, just for the sake of a new-age narrative. I’ll take real history over the revisionist history (which is almost like some sort of weird fad now all of a sudden) any day, for the sake of accuracy. Here’s a good example of what i mean; 200 years from now if there ends up being some random new”er”-age hipster who writes/proclaims that you were a racist, horrible person, i would hope there wouldn’t be some group of fellow lunies like him/herself tryna lead a charge to make sure you’re remembered that way for the sake of some weird modernized ideology, vs being remembered how you truly were (or rather are), else it wouldn’t be a true reflection of the past and much more like modern day propaganda.

Think for yourself. If Lincoln could free the slaves by writing a proclamation why didn't he just do it on day one ?
I'm not picking on your personally. But your quote doesn't sound like something Lincoln would say. Since my eyes have been opened I see that he unnecessarily started a terrible war and forced the Southern States back into the Union at gun point. Our ancestors voted in their States to leave the Union of which they voluntarily joined. Then we're forced back into it. Just the opposite of "government by the people for the people shall not perish from the earth " sound familiar? That's what Southerners wanted, to be left alone!

The NY Times won a Pulitzer for reporting...THE WRONG INFORMAITON!!!! I hope this young lady is reading from information she found and not something she assumed. I think when she said "American Revolution" she really meant "American Civil War" with regards to reporting that it was to preserve slavery. Other than that little moment...everything else was spot on. But she is right. I can't understand why a citizen in its own country cannot be proud of the freedoms they benefit from. I don't hear anyone else in the room. I think this is a rehearsal in the place where she will be giving the speech,

"The demoralization process in [the] United States is basically completed already. For the last 25 years... actually, it's over-fulfilled because demoralization now reaches such areas where previously not even Comrade Andropov and all his experts would even dream of such a tremendous success. Most of it is done by Americans to Americans, thanks to [a] lack of moral standards."
"As I mentioned before, exposure to true information does not matter anymore. A person who was demoralized is unable to assess true information. The facts tell nothing to him, even if I shower him with information, with authentic proof, with documents and pictures. ...he will refuse to believe it.... That's the tragedy of the situation of demoralization."
"Most of the American politicians, media, and educational system train another generation of people who think they are living at the peacetime. False. United States is in a state of war; undeclared, total war against the basic principles and foundations of this system. And the initiator of this war is not Comrade Andropov of course - it's the system. However, ridiculous it may sound, [it is] the world Communist system, or the world Communist conspiracy. Whether I scare some people or not, I don't give a hoot. If you're not scared by now, nothing can scare you."
"So basically America is stuck with demoralization ... even if you start right now,[1980's] here, this minute, you start educating [a] new generation of American[s], it will still take you fifteen to twenty years to turn the tide of ideological perception of reality back to normalcy and patriotism."
"The next stage is destabilization. This time [the] subverter does not care about your ideas and the patterns of your consumption; whether you eat junk food and get fat and flabby doesn’t matter any more. This time-and it takes only from two to five years to destabilize a nation-what matters [are] essentials: economy, foreign relations, [and] defense systems. And you can see it quite clearly that in some areas, in such sensitive areas as defense and [the] economy, the influence of Marxist-Leninist ideas in [the] United States is absolutely fantastic. I could never believe it fourteen years ago when I landed in this part of the world that the process [would have gone] that fast."
"The next stage, of course, is crisis. It may take only up to six weeks to bring a country to the verge of crisis. You can see it in Central America now."
"And, after crisis, with a violent change of power, structure, and economy, you have [the so-called] period of normalization. It may last indefinitely. Normalization is a cynical expression borrowed from Soviet propaganda. When the Soviet tanks moved into Czechoslovakia in '68, Comrade Brezhnev said, 'Now the situation in brotherly Czechoslovakia is normalized.'"
"This is what will happen in [the] United States if you allow all these schmucks to bring the country to crisis, to promise people all kind[s] of goodies and the paradise on earth, to destabilize your economy, to eliminate the principle of free market competition, and to put [a] Big Brother government in Washington, D.C."

This young lady is very intelligent. America has always been the BEST. Go to other countries if you think they treat women better.. or other races better.. haters talk about America's racist past like it was still happening.. like slavery is still going on in America, it isn't.. HOWEVER Slavery itself is still around... in OTHER Countries... but these people want to only focus on negatives, never positives.. like any other country could ever be better.
The main issue affecting us currently is the Psy-Ops Corrupt Career Politicians (from both parties, but democrats are almost all corrupt, where as there are a handful of good republicans now). They want to keep us divided, never united, so they can manipulate and control us easier. Pelosi, Biden, and other corrupt career politicians on the Dems side are secretly working with the RINOs.. any time they argue, it's theater, they run in the same Circle of Friends, go to the same parties, their kids go to the same schools... McConnell, Graham and others on the Rep side are corrupt too.. note they also have been in politics for most of their lives, just like Biden and the corrupt Dems.
Also note that mainstream media likes to push lies/disinformation but gaslight us like it's somehow Truth, like we are too stupid to look around in the Real World and see that what they are saying is not the really happening.
Whether you hate him or love him, the simple Truth is that Trump wasn't corrupt like those LIFE-LONG people in politics! They hated him because he knowingly or unknowingly messed up their elitist plans, because those plans just did not make sense to anyone that is not corrupt and in on those deals, and understands economy and has any intelligence.. so Trump stopped them, and that's why they hated him and tried to get him out ASAP and why Biden quickly undid everything Trump did, with an idiotic gleam in his eyes (Biden).

If you examine the history of our country, you have to realize we've done some pretty bad stuff. That's not to say that we haven't done a lot of great stuff as well, but you can sweep the bad stuff under the rug and pretend it didn't happen. So there are a lot of vested interests in this country who want to make sure that we don't forget or downplay the bad stuff. Some for altruistic reasons, and some for purely selfish reasons. Sometimes they bring up these issues with grace and tact, and sometimes they bring up these issues in the most ham-handed ways possible.
But you can't just ignore them or ignore the issues they are trying to raise. Critical examination of the flaws of the past is a vital step in making sure we don't repeat those mistakes in the future.
And mentioning those issues doesn't make you "un-American" or mean that our culture is on the skids. So I agree with some of the points she's making, but I think she's also trying to pander to her audience of ultra conservative folks who probably have "America: Love it or LEAVE IT" bumper stickers on their cars. If we truly want to be the type of country she says we aspire to be, we need to constantly self-critique and try to improve, and I think the Founding Fathers knew this. That's why the right of a free press is so important, and why we have such a vigorous political commentary sphere in this country. But don't confuse self criticism with Anti-Americanism, it's not.

It will be a welcome contribution to the public discourse when she can actually understand why many people feel left out of the freedoms the US has to offer, and those individuals learn to listen and hear her admonition to acknowledge the good that goes on in this country, and both sides can have a respectful conversation and come up with some solutions.
