I would love to sit in a coffee shop with you, talking about being an hsp and navigating how to work. It has been a huge struggle for me, ever since I was 19 (I'm now 48). I seem to have recently found the perfect balance, but it has been such an uphill battle and has caused me to have a lot of anxiety, burnout, panic attacks, etc. I am not self-employed, but I have 4 casual jobs. This sounds like a lot, and people often make strange comments to me about this, but it is not nearly as much as it sounds and I can pick and choose where I want to work (depending on how I am feeling) and give myself a break when I am heading towards anxiety or worse, burnout. I am also able to work part-time, which has really helped my mental health. My heart goes out to sensitive people, who work full-time at energy-draining jobs with no other options--I was there for many years.
I'm so sorry to hear about your struggle, but glad you've found a way to manage. I've had a similar experience, but for years I thought I just needed to find the right job, now I realise I just can't cope with that kind of life. At 43 I'm also lucky to have finally found a better balance, but my poor son is already struggling with similar issues just from school. Its such a struggle and similarly my heart goes out to all those who are forced into unsustainable work. I actually think it affects more people than we realise. Its completely exhausting ❤
@@allyw6604 my heart goes out to your son. My youngest son has struggled with the same issues since kindergarten. He is now in grade 11. We pulled him out of traditional school and he does his school online, with a very flexible schedule. He's also on medication for anxiety and he has ADHD. What you said is so true, I've found that it's not about finding the right job!! It's helped me to be content with my current situation and recognize I do not fit into the typical mold that society wants to put us in.
@@allyw6604 I can relate so well, I’ve had a social phobia since being firstly bullied through school for the way I looked physically and right up to my 40s until I could afford private surgery. I did however in the end manage to get a job with the civil service and was okay as I took a bus to work each day and used to keep my head down reading a book and got used to the same people at work. After surgery unfortunately the anxiety and fear of others judgement was too rooted in my brain and even though the bullying stopped, I still expect it all the time and fear going anywhere alone. I did luckily manage to retire at 53 and following years of evening classes, was able to become self employed as a potter. I’m 70 now and still work from home with art and pottery, I really wish that I had been able to do this at a much earlier age though. Blessings to all of the sensitive souls like yourself that are in the world, I hope they all find their own perfect place and balance in life.xx
That was lovely; a bit of this and a bit of that. Perfect vlog. I have two pairs of those Vivaia boots (discounted. Merci beaucoup 👍) and they are like wearing clouds. I can see me never returning to proper shoes ever again.
Molly, I’ve only recently discovered you and am working my way through all your videos like an online stalker! 😂 I live in Ayrshire but we take all our holidays in Scotland so it’s lovely to see so many familiar places, it’s just a shame I don’t live closer as I’d love to join you on your walks (without all the rubbish small talk and awkward conversation - fellow hsp here 😉) Your channel is lovely, you have such a calm energy, and I love the cookery, walks, eco living and book recommendations very much. Right, am off to cram another video or two in before I go and roast some tofu for the first time! I’m so glad I’ve found you. Have a lovely week!
I’m loving the autumn colours and the general cosiness of the season sitting here in bed with a cup of tea and my Knitting before I get started on my day as a treat because it’s my day off. I’ve mentioned before I’m still trying to eat more plant-based but I don’t think I’ve got tofu right yet but definitely gonna try the curry that looks great and will check out the minimalist baker .
I'm a big fan of minimalist baker for recipe inspo. Lazy cat kitchen is another favourite along with domestic gothess. Love your book hauls and recommendations - I usually get at least one to read
The Scottish sprouts from Aldi are absolutely beautiful at the minute. I’m West coast Scotland 🏴 ❤ Lots of soup recipes pleassssse, love homemade soup ❤ ps if your tofu is too soft, I like mine very firm. Freeze it then defrost it honestly it makes such a difference 🍎
I am currently reading The Pumpkin Spice Cafe and it is a nice, seasonal, relaxing read. I hope you enjoy it as well. Yes, I agree, sometimes cliche is exactly what I need exclamation point! I live in North Carolina, USA and it is a beautiful Autumn here. This is my favorite season as well
What a beautiful vlog... the parts with the autumn walk were sublime. And just before you said that that's your favourite time of year, I had the same thought. Cannot get over how beautiful that walk/hike was. I too, love going for a run in the rain; or hike, etc. I'm also an introvert & very sensitive... anyway, always enjoy your vlogs. Your outfit was gorgeous. 😊❤ xx
Another awesome vlog Molly and yummy 😋 vegan recipes and yes it is now soup season. I do like Brussel sprouts but rarely eat them compared to other vegetables. Have a good week ahead Molly and love 🥰 the vlog. Love 💓 Molly & ❤ Skye.
Haha Molly’ I can totally relate with the wrapping presents thing….I’m 59 & I still make a bad job of present wrapping! Lol And I also say to myself that I must learn to do it properly & I never do 🤣🤣
Wonderful vlog. Autumn is also my favorite season. Thanks for the recommendation for Perks, I'll check it out next spring. Also, wondering if you can do a video about waterproof wear for the Scottish Highlands? I'm planning to go on a hiking tour in the Cairngorms around mid to end of April next year.
Hi Molly beautiful video always enjoy watching you an beautiful Skye what your doing this time round that food you made looks so delicious have a great week 😊❤❤❤❤❤
I finished Pumpkin Spice Cafe book this past week. It was a cozy read. It was similar to Sarah Hope's Sunshine at the Cornish Bakery series. That kale salad looks delicious. Thanks for sharing.
oh when you were reading the blurb of the Mary book it made me realise what's the plot - Isabella Baxter is a nod to the Character Bella Baxter, from the book Poor Things by Alasdair Gray (which is a Scottish writer as you may know!). Poor Things IS a retelling of Frankenstein, with Bella being brought to life through the ingenuity of a doctor in the Victorian times. So it's basically merging the Poor Things universe with Mary Shelley's - it will probably be a good read! :)
I loved Poor Things, both the book and the film. So much so in fact I’ve started reading other Alisdair Gray books and went to see his mural in Oran Mor!
Those recipes look delicious, thanks for sharing, will have to try them! Autumn is definitely the best, your walk looked wonderful! Hope you enjoy your new books. Have you read The Dictionary of Lost Words by Pip Williams? You might enjoy that. I'm reading the Last Wilderness by Neil Ansell, its set in Scotland so you might like that too (if you haven't already read it!). Hope you have a lovely week xx
Lovely vlog, I think I might have to read Mary, it sounds really good. I did unfortunately hear on another UA-cam channel that the Pumpkin Spice Cafe wasn’t that good, I haven’t read it, so would be interested to hear your opinion on it. Thankyou for sharing, take care ❤❤
That turtle neck looks great on you. I recently got a blender just like yours, but find I worry a bit about using it with potentially smelly - eg garlic, onion, strong spice type - things, in case the seal gets tainted, which rather limits its usefulness as I'm not a great consumer of smoothies! Do you find that's a problem?
The Pumpkin Spice Cafe makes me giggle - it looks all innocent and cinnamon-like, but it has several very racy sex scenes with full descriptions. The amount of people who've bought it for the cosiness and found themselves with that but also something quite different as well is a bit amusing. All that said, it's a good read - just be prepared!
I'm interested in the wooden plate you used as well as the wooden measuring spoons. I'm guessing you probably got them locally or at least in the UK but I thought I'd ask where they came from Just in case in case I can get them online. Thanks!

I love the idea of having just a roll of brown paper for wrapping presents. And using different ribbons to tie around it depending on the recipient 😊
It cannot be denied that your country is very beautiful. I really enjoy it from Indonesia❤❤❤

WOW Molly, the cups !!!!! 13:22 abd then 13:31 where are they from??? 🫶
That turtle neck looks great on you.

I've not noticed that myself and I have used it for multiple curry/soup variations. Hope that helps!
