    Anyone found a fix to put the headrest? I figured out the rest. The headrest is impossible to put in

    • @DIYJIM
      @DIYJIM  Рік тому +6

      Here is one of the comments I got a few week ago.
      I may have found out the reason why its so hard to get the headrest on, the cutting of the plastic part inside the headrest is not a clean cut it does not lay flush against the back of the chair so the bolt openings do not line up. Easy fix, i used a small hammer to flatten the little piece of plastic they didnt cut off so it now lays flush against the back of the chair and the bolt openings line up like normal go in flush instead of at an awkward 45 degree angle lol , its at that weird angle because the headrest isnt inside all the way. I thought i was going crazy!

      @@DIYJIM Thank you for getting back to me! I fixed it!
      So I didn't use a hammer but rather, 'I pushed the headrest in and then held it tight and tried to bend it at an angle. This helped me to put in 1 screw very tightly. And the other one went in fine after they' the solution is to hold the headrest tight and at a slight upwards angle.

      At first I gave up and used duct tape after an hour of fighting with it. But then I saw another comment down below about leaning the whole chair up against something (in my case, I used my bed) and using a flashlight to get a good look at lining things up. I was finally able to maneuver the headrest to sit in such a way that the holes lined up and *finally* got the screws in. I really think if it's that hard they should have moved the "attach headrest" step so that you do that *before* you try attaching the back to the base. That makes it easier to manipulate the back and get things lined up.

    I just bought this exact chair from my local Staples this morning, and was very intimidated by the thought of having to put it together myself. I'm 63, arthritic, with horrendous back pain. But after watching this video, I think I can do it, if I take my time, and watch you do this step by step. Other than having you come over to my place and actually do it FOR me, I think I can handle it! :) Thanks!!

      @@hudonedem8517 Actually, I'm quite happy with the chair. It's sturdy and comfortable. My only regret was that I didn't check to see if the armrests were adjustable, which they aren't. Other than that, I'm quite satisfied with the chair.

    Has anyone experienced an issue with the chair when leaning back? There is a lock that is supposed to prevent it from leaning all the way back. But sometimes when I am leaning back, that lock snaps and jolts me with a scare. I would appreciate if anyone can contribute on how to maybe fix this?

    i may have found out the reason why its so hard to get the headrest on, the cutting of the plastic part inside the headrest is not a clean cut it does not lay flush against the back of the chair so the bolt openings do not line up.

    I wish the tilt lock let it move fwd & keep it from moving back past the tilt lock setting…. Instead it keeps the tilt lock in a tilted positing lol that is horrible, that is not how tilt lock is supposed to function… now I’m stuck with it,
