- Def Leppard rocked The Theater at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas Friday January 6, in their first show of 2023. It was a private party for Harmen Audio presented by JBL. What an awesome show it was! This is their classic "Rock of Ages." The guys join a small list of bands I have photographed in the 80’s and in much more recent times. Spot the difference between Joe and Vince Neil. These guys still sound great. Show's how looking after yourselves works. Springsteen is another. Three hour shows at 73. Bruce and the rest of the guys in Maiden still sound great

Yeah, Joe sounds incredible for 63, and loads better than he did 10 years ago. He's been working his ass off with a vocal trainer and it's paying off.
it's worked out really well for a few, and it's done nothing for a few. Hetfield pretty much as his back. Halford nearly has it back. pearcy still crappy, axl still crappy, bonjovi has nothing left, etc.
@@littlegoobie Do you know if Pearcy and Axl are actually working with vocal trainers? I know Jon has done everything (including surgery) to get his voice back but nothing has worked.
Gonna see them in AC NJ this Friday with motley crue..should be a good one.

Joes lost the power in his voice which is normal. So many 80's guys who sang high with power can't do it anymore. Like all of us when we're young we over do it & pay for it when we get old. He sounded like he was whispering the high parts. He sounds good on the low parts though.Glad I saw them in 83.
If you watch them play this song live in 1983, they’re going through it 100 miles an hour. Now that they’re older, they’re playing it more like the record, a LOT slower. So I guess Las Vegas is a geriatrics for older musicians who don’t have much energy to expel on stage anymore. Lol.

Shit professionbal job, you even got Viv's cry baby in. I saw them in 2015 but from a waaaay way back. I never got to see the band member live who 'was' this band Steven Maynard "The Riffmaster" Clark, Leppard owe Steve 90% of this material, [even Viv has said this] and 'Mutt' also. Leppard are tight as, Viv is a beast of a player and plays Collen under the table, sadly he is too under utilised. Collen's shredding grates always, and Viv is arguably their best vocaklist backing up. NO lip syncing. NO backing tracks. Leppard gives 100% hard rock. It's never been the same without their lyrical/musical genius.

Phil's a great player I just wish he'd knock that fast stuff on the head. It's not big, it's not clever and it simply sounds shit. I bet it bugs the life out of the rest of the band !!
Agreed 100%. His solos pull down. Lots of work for the others zo safe their ass.

Sad but true what they say. Who wants to see bunch of old guys in black spandex on stage sounds like crap. Leave the stage its for the young. U were good back then leave it there. Make old man music. Old ppl need old ppl music to.
