If they need help, wait for them to ask you, like Steph said, if they ask you how many sets you have DO NOT reduce your sets or alter your workout to make them happy. They don't appreciate you for doing such valiant things.

Helpful brother got shot down by Sista Mary Poppins. Apparently he always tries to help both men and women at that specific gym. One thing I do vividly remember from my early anxiety filled gym days a decade ago (when I was skinny and didn't know the difference between barbells and dumbbells lol) it was brothers like him that gave me and my friends knowledge and were always ready to help with anything, be it diet, advice or a simple spot at the bench. Now I do the same for other younger brothers and make them feel welcome in the gym but I always stay clear from the females unless they initiate.
