Had a lot of fun making this one. Hope you guys enjoy it!
Ofcourse we will I even enjoyed the one sports! the game and I do not even like sports.
I'm still excited to see this episode but I sent the games (too?) in your 11th unboxing, not sure if Xavior sent more copies later or these are the same ones I'm talking about.
Regardless I'll be here for the premiere :)
i will enjoy it even before watching it, quality content all the time.
@@DaGameNerd did i mess that up? my bad. Ill correct it in the next video
Oh I will! I always do!!!
Fun Fact!: In Desert Demolition you can spook the Coyote with the "Beep! Beep!" button while standing behind him
I love doing that! Beep Beep!
First off, I'm a huge fan of The Looney Tunes amazing stuff guys. Second, this ended up being a more exciting comparison than I thought. Third, we still need more cartoon game theme episodes. Honestly keep up the good work.
Thank you so much for the kind words!
@@ConsoleWars if this was the worst of episode Super Nintendo will win and Sager will lose
@@spideyfan1dj700the Sega Genesis sounds like from Earthworm Jim a bit I'm talking about the music
Petition to let Pat do more evil laughs in future episodes!
Hells yeah!
I want see to PAT SHIRTLESS in next video 🔥🔥🔥
@@_calejon You and Officer Pastrami would get along great.
I'm impressed! I takes a lot of actor's skill to say "Death Valley Rally is a good game for Super Nintendo" while keeping a straight face!
It was very difficult for Pat lol
I remember renting this piece of dung game when I was a kid. Torturous weekend. I thought I was the only one who hated this.
A lot of videogame magazines did that back then. I it has a lot of press.
Its not bad just take it slow 😂
@@countryman6412 Yeah, take it slow, when you're trying to control a character who's known for being speedy, genius! It worked so well with Sonic after all, Sonic Labyrinth and whatnot
After a long string of either Nintendo victories, ties, or wins in the "worst game" category, good to see Sega, and specifically the Genesis score best game on Console Wars again.
I've seen more Genesis wins than SNES, and some SNES games that won like Beavis & Butt-Head didn't deserve it
Towards the beginning of the channel it felt like SEGA won a lot more often. But I could be wrong as I haven't seen every single episode, even though I of course want to see them all eventually.
@@CaptainCaveman1170 I don't think it's been anything deliberate about Sega not winning best game lately. It just so happened that the last year or so has featured a lot of stronger games from the SNES and/or worse ones from Genesis.
@@MerelyAFan Oh yeah I didn't mean to imply any deliberate manipulation or any bias. I think it just worked out that way. But I do feel like overall the Genesis might have more wins at the moment (could be wrong).
@@CaptainCaveman1170 Yeah I also think Sega has won more overall. This is the channel that showed me that the SNES really got the shorter end of the stick when it came to cross platform releases
You forgot the important part: Toony Injuries. While when you play as roadrunner you won't see them as much, but when you are wile e. coyote nearly every damage you take will be cartoonish. Like getting squished and then being a pancake for a brief time period, or head suddenly being made of rubber when you get an anvil falling on you - as a kid it was just a lot of fun looking at him getting damaged in different ways (which is not a sentence you should take out of context).
It's nice to see a game you are nostalgic for... Even when it sucks and loses the episode. Fanboys, take note
I'm In for It =D
I love how Sega saying "ARE WE DOIIIIIIIIIN THIS!" is more and more exaggerated with each new video. LOVE IT.
And Nintendo's response in sort of another question 🤣
That Columbo impression/tribute was on point
While I love the head to head discussions and the back and forth banter, I think my absolute favorite part of each episode is Dan's, "That's it! Are we doin this!?" followed by Pat's, "[insert ever increasingly long yet still scientifically accurate statement of fact].... Yes!" Keep up the awesome work gents!!!!
Glad you enjoy it!
I've been looking forward to seeing this episode for a long time. As a Sega gamer, I'm glad to see Desert Demolition won this round. I've been able to beat that game many times as both Wile E. and Road Runner. I tried playing Death Valley Rally with the 75 lives code. I played it for about two hours and got burnout at Quantum Beep Act 2.
We're about halfway through the Looney Tunes games, as we previously had episodes centered around the Tiny Toons (Buster Busts Loose Vs. Buster's Hidden Treasure) and Taz-Mania (Sunsoft Vs. Sega). Hope to see episodes centered around Bugs Bunny (Rabbit Rampage Vs. Double Trouble), Daffy Duck (The Marvin Missions Vs. Hollywood), and Speedy Gonzales (Los Gatos Bandidos Vs. Cheese Cat-astrophe) in the future.
I got the SNES game many years ago and still own it and hated it back in the day. Was thinking about playing it again until this episode 😅
I'm sure they will have a hard time getting European Mega Drive versions of both Daffy Duck in Hollywood and Cheese Cat-Astrophe starrting Speedy Gonzalez, as neither of them were released on North America. Sega usually cattered Europe better with their Looney Tunes licensed games.
@@WeskerSega Pan and Dan have done a Console Wars episode with a Mega Drive-exclusive game before; their "Daze Before Christmas" episode.
@@FlyingDuckMan360 Yeah, but it's not their usual. When a Mega Drive game is not released on North America, and there's many cases for that, it's harder for them to get it and do the episode. Remember they usually get the games through donations, and in this case they'll probably need someone from Europe (or Australia, as Daze Before Christmas is one of the very few it was released especifically in Australia) to ship them the cartridge.
The tangent to get this episode started was spectacular.
Had a lot of fun going full Misery with Sonic and Tails
All Looney Tunes games on the 16-bit systems have 2 things in common:
1- They're too hard on SNES
2- They're better on Genesis
All? Nah, you're a fan kid
I thought Rabbit Rampage was pretty balanced.
This is a fact, with the exception of Rabbit Rampage on the SNES, as they had both Sunsoft and Viacom New Media working on it together.
However, I'll play Bugs Bunny in Double Trouble over Rabbit Rampage any day as I loved that game as a kid. Plus the music in that game is HOT!
Sylvester and Tweety fans really got a raw deal. They only got one game, and it was AWFUL.
I stop everything when I see a new episode of console wars, first time being here for a premier!
Glad you made it!
Based on stage artwork alone, I”d give the best presentation win to the Sega Genesis. It presents the cartoon aesthetic best.
Good point
Not only that, Desert Demolition has Loony Tunes cameos in every bonus stage.
These guys are never fail at making amazing videos
Thank you! We try really hard
Let me give you three reasons why I love Looney Tunes:
1. It's a popular cartoon.
2. The Roadrunner and Wile E. Coyote cartoons have excellent animation.
3. Over the years, the Looney Tunes cartoons became a massive hit.
Man I just love this channel so much, it just makes me feel happy it puts me in a good mood even after a crappy day I go back and rewatch your older videos constantly thank you guys for taking the time out to do these videos it really seems like it's a passion project for you. you guys put so much effort and time and energy into it. A Channel like yours belongs in the millions of subscribers. Thanks again and God bless you guys
Thank you so much for the kind words. Glad we can put a smile on your face!
@@ConsoleWars absolutely man thank you for the reply where are you guys located out of? You guys ever try and meet your fans?
Thank you guys for reminding me how frustrating the Snes version is. When I was a kid, my dad rented from block buster. Thank god I didn’t pay full price for it. 😂😂😂. Once again great episode guys 🎉
Thanks! Happy to provide the nostalgia
The reason Sega came with a volume control on the console 😎
It's only on model 1 for stereo output, either on headphones or on TV speakers with 3.5mm TRS to left/right RCA plug cable.
@@RitzLazyArtist I am aware but needed it for the joke 🤣
to turn the volume up to max, right? bring joy to the whole family :) and even the neighbors :)
As a child I remember adjusting it repeatedly, with no luck, and thinking the console must've been defective. Then I noticed the headphone jack... 🙌
Yay
Always good to have a new episode, specially on a Saturday.
Awesome episode! I first heard of the SNES game "Death Valley Rally" in AVGN's "Casino Games" episode, where he parodied "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas". I don't think I've heard of "Desert Demolition", but dang that game looks great. While SNES may look more colorful, the Sega game really looks to capture the cartoons a lot better. Really dug the opening with that "Cartoon Violence" video, there's no better way to make a violent scene better then to add in some cartoon sound-effects🤣.
We had fun with that intro
Thank you guys for the quality videos! Every time you release one, it's an event!
Another GREAT video guys! this was a close one too. fantastic comparison and break down. Keep up the amazing work!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great episode guys :-D
I must say that I had the Desert Demolition Starring Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote on all catagories but the sound.
Yeah the SNES game is much more difficult and not as fun as Sega's version. But overall both systems had great Looney Tunes games.
Genesis/MD had the Tazmanian games, Daffy Goes to Hollywood and Bugs Bunnny + this as best while the SNES had Bugs Bunny Rampage, Daffy Duck the Marvin Mission and Looney Tunes B-Ball as its best IMO.
Sylvester & Tweety in Cagey Capers for the Mega Drive is also great.
@@WeskerSega I remember that from kids days in stores it could be played. I think I played that game years ago, but could not get the hang on it.
Have to play it again sometime and see how it is. But yeah, I know people like that game !
25:48 (Homer laughing) Give that man the $10,000!
Hmmm... I can interpret the ending where Dan (Sega) chases Pat (Nintendo) in two ways:
1. Dan represents the Road Runner, while Pat represents Coyote. Pat and Coyote try their best to stop, but they couldn’t, and thus, they both fall off the cliff.
2. Both Dan and Pat represent Desert Demolition and Death Valley Rally respectively. Dan was able to stop himself from falling off of a cliff because Desert Demolition has tighter controls, while Pat, thanks to Death Valley Rally’s floatier and slipperier controls, falls off of the cliff because Road Runner has *worse* traction in DVR than in Desert Demolition.
Exactly! We incorporated the cartoon and video game for that last bit! Glad you were able to catch that
@@ConsoleWars That's a nice touch I've noticed you put into a lot of these comparisons, like in UMK3 when the train fatality didn't work because it's missing from the SNES version
@@zanegandini5350 There's also the time where they test out their console's guns, with Pat and his Super Scope having colorful visuals, great aim, and a rocking soundtrack, while Dan and his Menacer have duller visuals, has the aim of a Stormtrooper, and has slower, much more unfitting music... and as an added bonus, an unskippable cutscene when Dan gets defeated! There's also the previous episode where Dan and Pat face off against Donkey Kong, and while Pat avoids the pillars with ease because the SNES game controls better, Dan keeps hitting the pillars because the Genesis game controls worse. The exact opposite happens in this episode, where Dan was able to slam on the brakes just before he falls off, because the Road Runner handles better in Desert Demolition... while Pat tries to stop, but fails, because in order for the Road Runner to stop in DVR, the player must hold the button opposite to Double R's current direction, while he's running at top speed, to make him skid, which also pokes fun at how slipperier Road Runner handles in DVR than in Desert Demolition. For me, I see DVR's controls as a (really steep) learning curve, rather a hinderance. If you get used to how slippery Road Runner is, you'll become a master of Road Runner's Death Valley Rally's controls.
Nice Hans Moleman reference there with the "man getting hit by football" bit :)
We love doing Simpsons references
Ok, that was bloody hilarious! Thanks guys, you’ve made my weekend!!!
Thank you for the kind words!
I remember playing Death Valley Rally, and I agree with Dan: the game looks great, but the controls were just notorious. It took me a while to beat the game, and it is fun once you get used to it. But when I tried playing it again some time ago (after 20-30 years), yeah, it wasn't worth it.
Never played the Genesis version, but no surprise that the SNES received that critique.
I just played through the Genesis game in RetroArch, will definitely be buying a physical copy next week to add to my collection.
Great as usual guys really enjoyed the episode
can't wait for the next video so excited to see what y'all do with it
I love your videos. Not just for the subject matter but also because they’re just so dang fun.
That's what we're all about. Having fun!
The animation in Desert Demolition really is fantastic.
Funny video guys, well done! Had to watch a few more after this one lol. Definitely got a new subscriber
Awesome! Welcome to the channel!
So much fun! Next episode is gonna be da bomb
This comment help me figure out the episode hint
Great timing guys👍
Glad to see Pat doing the Wily Coyote reference in the end.LOL.
Thanks for doing this guys!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for reviewing these. My grandfather on my dad's side of the family absolutely LOVED the Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote. Sadly, he passed away last year. I fully intend to pick up a copy of Desert Demolition in his memory.
Finally watched it completely (I was driving and at a red light when I donated the beer money). Bravo job.
We remember. Thank you sir!
As always great episode! Thank you !!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Man it's been a while since you had an episode this good!
Thanks!
Amazing Episode!!! I really enjoyed the Earthworm Jim cameo!!😆👌👌
Thanks. Its nice to have Jim from time to time
Another fantastic episode!!
Thank you!
Love you guys! Thank you for making these amazingly fun and entertaining videos!
Glad you like them!
great video as always guys :D
Enjoyed the final skit... And yeah the Bomberman
«Desert Demolition» was one of my favorite childhood games! Thanks for a great episode!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great episode, your productions are tons of fun!
Would still love to see A link to the Past vs Soleil.
Zelda wins on that one.
@@RitzLazyArtist I disagree, atleast I don't think it's an obvious win on all categories. For one, I think the graphics and presentation are much better in Soleil. Music and sound might go to Zelda for being much more iconic but I personally think that both soundtracks are great. As gameplay goes, it's close, depending on preference it could just as well go to either one.
This was a great video! I'm really sorry you had to deal with people disliking it before it was even up, because the video was a lot of fun! Also, Pat plays unhinged WAAAAY too well! 😂
I also really appreciate you going for a comparison I wouldn't have expected. The Road Runner games have been kind of under my radar, but this absolutely makes me want to play Desert Demolition. Thank you!
Thank you!
Always look forward to Console Wars. Great vid 😊😊😊
Thank you!
I’d love it if you compared
Krusty’s Super Fun House
Aaahh Real Monsters
The Jungle Book
Pinocchio
The Flintstones (Genesis) vs. Treasure of Sierra Madrock (SNES)
and worst version of
Bubsy II
Shaq Fu
Virtual Bart
Don't forget Tiny Toons: ACME All-Stars (Genesis) vs. Wacky Sports Challenge (SNES)
The scene from Misery is just a bomb! Like always a great episode.
That was fun to recreate.
Love your video! You got me on the hint this time so it will be a surprise to me!
Glad you enjoyed it!
The dynamic duo is back at it again
Nice well researched and well produced retrospective review.
Thank you!
2:12 THAT gave me flashbacks of that mashed video where Tails was very psychotic, manic, wild and obsessive over Sonic
24:29 That whole Rocket Shoes segment reminds me of that one episode from Tom & Jerry Tales when Tom got some roller stakes to look cool
26:45 It is Bomberman next
Just discovered your channel, and I'm loving this console wars series.
I'm surprised you guys never did a console wars video for Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures. You should do one.
Welcome to the channel! Pac-Man 2 is on the list

hmm, this is tough. both games have roadrunner but football in the groin had a football in the groin
I actually laughed out loud at this one. Nicely done!
You guys are getting funnier with every new video. I love this. 🤣
Appreciate it!
I love this channel soooooo much!
Great episode lads 👍
Thank you!
Okay, that maniacal laugh was priceless
Pat has a fantastic evil laugh!
Used to rent this game back in the day on my Sega Genesis.
Nice video guys. ^o^
Another fun episode and scientific fact to add something a bit different here. Never played either game, but a good overview of the triumphs and failure of both of them. Good stuff!
Still one of the best shows on UA-cam
You're too kind!
Haha the end skit is wonderful
Glad you liked it!
This certainly was a fun episode. Sometimes it’s fun knowing which is better or worse if your familiar with both games. I grew up with Demolition Desert, and have fond memories with it. Death Valley Rally I will give it credit for the boss fight presentation aspect, but overall just from what I’ve seen it isn’t as good as the Sega game for all the points addressed. It comes down to what is the most enjoyable experience, and what have the most defining features. Awesome job you two.
Thank you so much!
When I think you guys can’t do better, you prove me wrong. Well done.
We surprise ourselves too.
Keep it up! Great work.
Thanks!
Solid episode guys.
Thanks!
Great show guys!!! Never see that Roadrunner game for the Genesis, look really fun and animations pretty sweets!! Ahh and Pat got to win an award for that evil laught!! Greetings!!

Really love your videos guys, excellent work as always! You.guys should cover Saturday Night Slam Masters! It was a port of the Capcom arcade game for both Genesis and SNES.
SNES version is a clear winner for the exclusive 4-player tag team mode.
@@RitzLazyArtist maybe..

More than just entertaining. I'll never see Tails in the same light again. Great job guys! Loved it.
Thank you!
Had a good time watching !
That's what its all about
Played both these games as a kid. A friend had a copy of Death Valley Rally. I had the Genesis so I had Desert Demolition. I would watch the Looney Tunes everyday as a kid, didn't matter what channel it was on so I saw a lot of Coyote and Road Runner shorts. Both games accomplish having the feel of the Looney Tunes down pat. Glad I was here for the premier, had fun in the chat. Great video as always, guys.
I'll admit, I laughed as hard as Homer at the Chester Cheetah football thing.
I'm sure you're not the only one
This was hilarious as always 😂. You just keep improving man stay safe guys!
And I like the Sega one, but agree that the music should have just played independently.
Glad you enjoyed!
Great job! See you next month!
I think I already said this. But I love you guy. Always putting good work out.
Thank you so much!
That intro gives off some Sonic For Hire vibes. Nice
I would love to have a note from you guys explaining to my boss why I'm not productive at work this week, since I watched your video at 11h15 pm, sunday night. That way, I won't get in any trouble.

I think i've mentioned it before but you guys should try the puzzle game ''Lemmings'' lots of pros for Dan as the Sega port has more levels, better music and even a hidden sound test, worth looking into for a future episode.
