Flying the Alaska Dash 8 Across Washington State

- After the Aha! inaugural, which now turned out to be my one and only flight on the airline, I had to go back to the Bay Area. That took me through Seattle on Alaska Airlines, the first flight aboard their Dash 8 Q400 in the Oregon State Beavers livery across the state of Washington. Due to a storm on the west coast at the time, delays were common up and down the coast, especially up in the Pacific Northwest...so of course we had to participate in that as well. Was a good flight though and if this turns out to be my last Alaska Horizon Dash 8 flight before they retire the planes, then I'm overall very happy I got to fly it one more time. Hope you enjoy!

I absolutely love when you do videos of smaller more regional size airports! I would love to see you visit cities like Billings, Albuquerque, Eugene, Little Rock, etc.
I'll be honest I miss flying the Dash 8. My dad hates it but I have loved it my whole life; I really like seeing the wheels go up after takeoff and come down before landing.
On your Next flight from Pittsburgh do Alaska airlines to Seattle I did it in July and it was amazimg

I used to be based at SEA for Skywest, flown that SEA flight several times. Good views, super short though.

I like the DH8 from a distance, as long as I'm not flying in it. It's a beautiful aircraft to watch, but the noise is unbearable for me, even for a short flight. I'd rather drive myself from Pasco to Seattle than fly a DH8 and feel like I'm sitting next to a lawnmower.
Wait til Eastern Oregon becomes part of Idaho in 2030!!!

I loved the Alaska Airlines Q 400!
I am saddened that Alaska has decided to retire these aircraft.
I have made lots of journeys on this aircraft between Boise and Seattle!
Aircraft comparison crj700 vs e175 vs q400 vs atr72 which one is good for travel.
I literally just flew on an Alaska (Horizon) plane with a 2/1 configuration… Might they be fazing them out???

At least the airbus planes are going to other carriers and not being scrapped. I know allegiant is grabbing a bunch of them from alaska. I also wonder if they will keep alaska's mood lighting on their ex virgin/alaska planes.

Was hoping you were on my GEG-SEATAC Alaska flight from hell last week that had such bad crosswind turbulence that people were crying and screaming and trying not to throw up after the failed landing. The pilot had to do a go around and for a 2nd attempt, afterwards the flight attendance did her arrival speech while crying. But I’m glad you were on a nicer flight!
I flew the dash and the 175 for horizon. You will not find a better cabin crew in the US than those on the Q for Horizon. Sorry you missed out on the free wine and beer

Unfortunately last time I flew both my mom and dad tested positive for COVID and I will test again tomorrow to see if I have COVID or not
When I last flew I was wearing a mask while most people were not and many people were also coughing like crazy which is why my parents got COVID

The amenities on this plane were definitely substandard!!! I want to know what the date was on that carton of water!!!!! I have seen port-o-potties bigger then that bathroom!! Flying the Dash 8 makes you appreciate the newer planes so much more!!! Happy New Year Chris!! Hope you are not flying Southwest this week!!!
