Mate, that Wait and Bleed drop was unreal. Really great song selection overall, exactly what I was looking for when I searched an EDM metal mix! Awesome stuff!
i dont see enough shit like this online, and i literally want to learn dj'ing specifically to make MORE shit like this available. this is godamn beyond dope. metal hits so fuckin hard in DJ sets. some really fire transitions man.❤🔥
DJing rock and metal is so much harder than electronic music. Not only is beat matching nearly impossible for anything longer than a bar or two, but listeners also love listening to the whole song, so everything you learn about DJing is basically thrown out the window. I started DJing to play rock and metal and the one thing I've learned is that most transitions happen over a bar, abuse the echo effect, and mix intros with outros. Everyone says song selection is 10x more important than technique in DJing... that applies 100 times over with rock and metal DJing.
@@ilmanti Part of the DJs arsenal is editing tracks specially for their mix. There's often dozens of versions of a song on the websites where you download DJ tracks
@@ilmanti mate, I've played rock sets for hours (not full-metal) and tempo+pitch controls do winders ;) however I'd like to praise this mix for featuring so many great and unusual tracks mix!
@@BrandTLD None of what I'm gonna say is meant to discount your experience, and I would love to hear more about what you know and have learned. I didn't intend my comment to come across as rock/metal being impossible to mix, although I see how it can be read that way. All I meant to say is that, since this genre involves real human beings and more complex structures compared to electronic music, it makes actual mixing harder because synching drums isn't as straight forward. You can see this difficulty whenever you attempt to match a beat grid with a song released in the 80s. That obviously doesn't mean you can't mix tracks... just that you're probably gonna have a hell of a time doing it over 16 bars or something, like electronic music DJs do. But if you can work quickly, it's doable over 4 sometimes 8 bars, especially working with EQ (and nowadays stems!!) Me, personally, what I've noticed and learned from talking to people, is that most metal enjoyers want to hear the whole song so best to simply let it play and mix during or after the last chorus. It simplifies the mixing process and gives people what they want. Win-win. Honestly, that's the extent of what DJ's are doing in events I've been to (and again I'm not saying it's bad). Would love to hear what you disagree with! Always willing to learn.
Just wanted to say thanks. I listen to this almost exclusively when I workout. If you haven't already, I would advise you to target this vid to 90s metal heads who like to workout. Thanks again!

Pioneer DDJ-1000. I love it. I wish I had bought the DDJ-800, as I don't use the extra two channels, but the 800 wasn't out yet when I bought the 1000. The 800 has all the same features, it's just smaller and only 2 channels.
