Since 1986, I placed “Definitely Miami” as my personal favorite and best episode and this second. Tonight I’m changing my mind. The story, acting, depth, ending and Jan’s work are first rate. This is the best episode.
That's one thing I liked about Lt. Castillo, he usually stood by his officers in sticky situations. Crime shows that came later, you continually had the lieutenants hanging officers out to dry for their own gain. Seaplanes, what an incredible invention...
3:42 "give it up, Hank. It's all over, man." Here, Crockett really has empathy for Hank - obsession to the point of psychosis. The bass and guitar work with "what am I gonna tell Lorraine?!", still gives me goosebumps. Crockett was truly a brother-in-arms.
You notice that too? I'm sitting here thinking this is the dumbest shootout I've ever seen. At the time I probably thought it was super cool but I was only 13 or so.
They call it Stiltsville. Built in the 50's as a fly in resort. Changed hands over the years. Filmed some movies and T.V. there. We used to fish and dive around there a lot.
There is only one or two buildings left there used to be 8 hurricanes destroyed most of the buildings out there built as a speakeasy& gambling den in the 1930s during prohibition
Wow there was a place called the Balleneese tea room in galveston tx , the restaurant front was connected to the sea wall and the rest of building was built on stilts over the water. They said it was a mafia gambling den in the 30s or 40s
brilliant - as usual - always wanted/want more of Larry, gone much too soon ... feel honored to have watched every original ... craving the return of those 80's
Yeah I read John Diehl wanted off the show. Sometimes actors outgrow their parts or just want to try new territory in their career. John Diehl did alot after Miami Vice He didnt fade into obscurity.
My dad loved this show... he died in o7 at 48.. i used to watch it withem in i was a little dude.. he got offered a part on the show while he was actually in miami... he shoulda taken the part🤨
Yep mine did too.. then went to prison for ten years we split ways until he found out he was sik the stubborn ass. 🤦♂️ shit happens i guess. Just makes ya stronger.
Trasmesso in italia nel 1986,avevo nove anni e me ne sono innamorato di questo grandissimo cult degli anni ottanta,ed oggi ho tutte le puntate originali grande miami vice🌴🐊😎🔝
I like how the Vice squad are shooting at the dock house from about 1/4 mile away, OVER Tubbs and Crockett's boat, and Gina has a single action shotgun. haha. Like thats really going to work. Well, the action was always first rate on MV but maybe not the realism. Although, Micheal Mann was known for having his actors train in real world situations like having them go to the gun range shooting the real weapons.
out where the buses don't run. widely regarded as the best episode of miami vice. also the only appearance of a bullpup rifle in the hands of crockett.
I loved this episode. When I was in Florida after this aired on TV, I said to my cousins husband when he took us out in his boat I said can we go flying through Stiltsville. So Howard did and there we were flying through Stilsville. What a thrill that was!
LOL.... certainly a detail the creators of this episode missed. Even with slugs, they would not get a hits at that range which appears to be several hundred meters.
Sonny was right when he (about Hank) "My Head Tells Me He's Stone Cold Insane" (as he speaks in a soft and serious tone of voice to Castillo.) He was wrong when he said soon after, "My Gut Tells Me We Should Go With Him On This."
What a great job Bruce did with that character, Dennis Hopper backed out of that role at the last second.

For me, it’s always been “Bushido.”
They need to put Miami Vice back on TV the best cop show ever
It's out there on re-runs..

"What am I gonna tell Loraine?" is gonna by new go to catchphrase : )
2:17 I'm not sure if that revolver and shotgun would have reached the bad guys about a half a mile away
You notice that too? I'm sitting here thinking this is the dumbest shootout I've ever seen. At the time I probably thought it was super cool but I was only 13 or so.
Shotgun slug rounds maybe her s&w 38 not a chance
Ikr..?..like seriously.🙄😆

With all the hurricane activity down that way it's absolutely amazing that there is anything left.
There is only one or two buildings left there used to be 8 hurricanes destroyed most of the buildings out there built as a speakeasy& gambling den in the 1930s during prohibition
Don't forget about the mob running casinos out there.

I believe Larry wanted off the show. I have trouble watching his last scene..
@@daveculver4350 he wished to pursue a different career avenue, so says Wikipedia ... yeah, last scene truly tragic !!!

Série de mon enfance. Je passerai jamais. C'est trop trop bien. Meilleur série pour moi.

This episode is so well done.
Heart wrenching.....
Stilltsville in Miami. They are not building on them and very few are there. Beautiful area always in Miami. Boat or seaplane is the only way.
Excellent episode!
Sweet speedboat, oh my God! 😍 Sweet classic guns, sweet everything. It's Miami Vice, after all.
Steyer aug rifles dont see em much for sale they never really caught on in the U.S everyone likes the M4
@@jameshughes3241 I think they're nice. One of few guns with a futuristic design that I'm drawn to.
Drug dealers always like to stand in the open to catch bullets lol
Castillo had a heck of a profile.
Just gimme Crocketts boat
2:11 You can see the camera crew when Sonny crashes out and then it cuts to the view of that camera.
That shot at 2:47. Beautiful.
# 1 favorite episode

Adoro essa série. Acho muito chique 🎉😊
*listen to that HANK WELDON Theme playing in the background...."J-FIFTY!!!"*
MASTERPIECE 🔝💯
Great channel man! ❤️
This was such a badass scene
Anybody recognize the rifle Switek is using? Looks like a Beretta BM-59.
What's the name of the track playing at the beginning and throughout the background?
TONY....TONY......TONY!!!
Miami Nice.
@2:44 a shotgun and a pistol at that distance? 🤣
Seriously it's so corn OMG, I really loved this show back when
Loraine would say: "Honey, I heard you were almost like Sanford yelling: this is the big one, Elizabeth!"
looks like this stakeout is a mistake out
What music is this? Jan hammer obviously but what track?
I’ve been trying to find these tracks for a long time. No clue so far
Steyr AUG, before Die Hard made it cool!

indeed. i think this, definitely miami and evan round out my top 3. smuggler's blues, prodigal son and home invaders up there.
there were many "bests" but I would chose this one
I just caught that the SWAT sniper is left handed running a left handed bolt gun.
ANYBODY SEE RITCHIE??? ANYBODY KNOW WHY RITCHIE DID BOBBY LUPO??
I really want a Steyr Aug
Buy one they are still around dont know if they still make them were made for the Austrian military back in the 80s

Hank Weldon is the name of the track.
Don't re-watch Miami Vice it ruins your memory of it.
I was watching similar show just yet
One thing is for sure..... they were looking for tony...
500 yard shot with a 12 gauge, not so much.
Lol.....these bullets must be traveling at speed of light
Maybe if she had slug rounds
2:44 -What's the range of that shotgun?
LOL.... certainly a detail the creators of this episode missed. Even with slugs, they would not get a hits at that range which appears to be several hundred meters.
Maybe shotgun slugs with a full open choke might have hit at that distance trudys s&w 38 6 in barrel no way
What kind of plane is that?
It's a UC-1 Twin Bee from the 60s.

That crazy guy character I can't get into. I don't like this episode because of him
