I'm so glad I tried a instant wide camera at a Lomo workshop before thinking about buying one, it just didnt want to behave, so I'll be sticking to 35mm film Lomography as you can do a lot more with film and it isnt expensive as instants.
I bought this camera a few days ago, I was worried about all the negatives comments but I have to say. The camera is pretty good. You are buying a full manual instant camera, of course you have to know a little bit of basic camera settings and sun light to get good pictures but that's the thing, you have to think twice the photos, and all the results are going to be a reward. If you are looking for an easy shoot and go instant camera you can get the instax fujifilm.
This is a pretty bad camera from my experience, it's definitely a struggle to take pictures. The best way to describe this camera is an unforgiving game of Russian Roulette, except the ratio of bullets to no bullets is marginally not in your favour. To take a good image your only option is the bulb exposure, and even then the images were sub-par. You really have to pay attention to lighting, distance from subject and the settings, though that would require actually seeing the subject in the printed image in the first place. Most of the images just end up being solid black or hardly exposed, and that still occurs following the given guide and tampering with exposures. It's definitely not a click and go camera and the outcome of your shot will leave you disappointed. Don't buy it, spend your money on a Polaroid and call it a day.
This camera isn't for beginners and hippies. It is built for experienced photographers or someone who knows something about cameras. Although the aesthetic is for hipsters, the way how you will use it is not. So you better watch some reviews about this product first before buying it or at least do a research. You'll get frustrated indeed if you didn't spend time reading manuals and basics about photography. I'm using this for almost 3 years now and all photos are great. Even the experimental
@@edrydhernandez9988 Nonsense. Experienced film photographer here. The camera is garbage. The internal capture is just not functional. Absolute stinker of a camera.
The manufacturer really could have done a better job with the back door of this camera. It feels so flimsy and cheap. Not to mention it sticks out when a film cartridge is inserted -causing light leaks in the corners.
Any idea what is the best mode to shoot indoors? No matter what time of the day, my pictures are always extremely dark even though I set it to +2 exposure. Should I use creative mode with flash + B settings?
It's funny how those beginners and know nothing about photography saying this camera sucks never knowing that this camera isn't built for beginners that's why it has a lot of buttons and modes. Try reading basics about cameras and photography so that you'll not get frustrated. If you are a completely beginner, buy instax mini so that you can just point and shoot.
hi! i have a question. what would you recommend if you could get one of the this product(lomo instant) + lens kit vs LOMO Instant wide..? Assuming that wide can't have a lens kit. (my english is not good so i’m not sure if this sentence will be delivered correctly..)
the wide takes significantly bigger shots (more than twice the sizre if ii am not mistaken, but the leans kit lets you be more creative. It's up to you.
Mine +2/-2 exposure correction does not stay in one place, it return at the center.Any tips how to use it since it gotta be taken in position with the left hand and at the left there is also the finder?Thank you
Hi, if I remember you need to be in "creative mode" to be able to set the +2/-2 setting. Also it resets its position when you change the mode or power off.
Here’s a question, and it did not mention in the manual book. When using Creative mode with B shutter, it has to be on 1m-inf, right? Because when I switched to 0.4m-0.9m, and it did not work at all, not the shutter nor film rejected....
Hello, I have a problem with my Lomo'Instant : it tends to behave like it is in MX mode every now and then, randomly, making me waste an increasing number of pictures. Is there a way to fix it ? Thanks
It must be a faulty film pack, as I also had the problem with a Fuji camera. The photo stays stuck inside the pack and unfortunately the only thing to do is to open the camera and remove by hand the wasted photo, and then putting the pack back into the camera, wasting 2 photos and resetting the counter in the process :( I believe it would be possible to lose only 1 photo by just moving a little the photo up and down in the pack (a few millimeters, just so the next photo won't be exposed) and shoot to make it eject normally, but I didn't try this yet (didn't have the problem since I had the idea). I hope this will help you. This camera is really a nice manual mode instant camera :)
Thank you for your quick answer! You think the issue was because of the film and not the camera? I actually contacted the Lomography customer services and they told me to send the camera and that they'd send me a new one. I returned it to the store I bought it, they replaced it with a new one, but I still have the same issue, I used the same film roll for both cameras... I will try the new film pack and hope it works fine. It does seem like a great camera with great settings, if it works!
I put fresh pack of batteries and the one the camera need and the light doesn't turn on and I'm getting frustrated! I might return it for another camera
My lomo'instant battery light keeps showing up red. I still have film inside and put brand new batteries, but it won't take any pictures. Anyone know how to fix this problem?
Literally the WORST CAMERA EVER. I’ve been shooting film for years so know what I’m doing. This is absolute garbage. Either over or under exposed. There’s no middle ground. DO NO BUY THIS.

What's the difference between this and the automat?

I totally agree 😭 I spent 1.5 film packs resulting with either blackened photos or just single color blots 💀 ~

Most of my photos are just black.... This camera is cool in concept but a pain to use
I was looking for this comment. It’s literally every shot is black. I wasted 40 exposures trying to understand it and I thought it was broken.

+LazyScoutJace Dude, it's lomography, it needs to be flimsy cheap and plasticy.

Elise Lothouse same hv u found the answer yet?
Yeah, so I am using the long exposure mode with flash and +1 or +2 exposure depending on the lighting.
This was really helpful
I put batteries in my camera and the light still won't turn on. What should I do?
try new batteries
with correct model type batteries
All these comments make me not want to buy one.
Ikr
I took a picture in bad lighting with flash and my picture is super dark😁 I don't know how to use the camera yet so, any suggestions? Thanks!
I know I godly late but just buy a different camera
Mine come out really dark too. When I turn up exposure compensation it’s still dark. -_-

Yes you can select the exposure correction just if the cam is on.
Thanx

Never had the problem since. It was probably a faulty pack.
How did you fix it? I just purchased it and have this issue, just wasted a bunch of film trying to fix the issue and couldn't figure it out..

hey, I got this camera. Even tho there's still film left it shows me it's on zero. Film won't come out when I shoot. Is the film broken or the camera?
Nevermind. It was the MX Button. >_>
how did u fix this pls :(
@@lexacarolino5245 It was on double exposure. But it's still broken. No matter what I do all the pics come out black. Wouldn't recommend that camera.
what i have in the pack? paper for shoot?
I put fresh pack of batteries and the one the camera need and the light doesn't turn on and I'm getting frustrated! I might return it for another camera
Hi i need an advice. My camera has the sheets inside but my camera doesn't work and it is written 0. What could be the problem?
It's probably not reading the films. I'd suggest go to a pitch dark room, open the film door and close it again. Might work
Hi Alessia! Please get in touch with our customer support team at help@lomography.com - they will help you troubleshooting :)
does it work with instax square film?
Hello! :)
This camera requires Fujifilm Instax Mini Film - You can get it here: shop.lomography.com/en/fuji-instax-film-double-pack-20-instant-photos
Hi may i know this camera has self timer or not??
Not
What's with the cable? Is it likr a remote??
Nu Ah Jung yes
I don't know if this is a silly question but can you link/hook up your phone to a lomo instant camera? If so how?
Hi there! Sadly this is not possible - our instant cameras are fully analogue :)
song?
My lomo'instant battery light keeps showing up red. I still have film inside and put brand new batteries, but it won't take any pictures. Anyone know how to fix this problem?
try switching the MX button :)
I have the same problem did you find the solution please?
how did u fix this pls
Can I use it without the film? Like just take shots and save it? Or no? Thank you.
Hello! Unfortunately this is not possible, you always need to have some films inside as this is a fully analogue camera :)
Diese Kamera und der Kundeservice ist absolut miserabel! Ich fühle mich um mein Geld betrogen.
its a crappy polaroid
