I’m growing jackolanterns this year and they’re struggling with the humidity and heat this year and there’s been a lack of rain so I’m having to water almost every day. It’s going to be in the upper 90s next week and I don’t know if they’re going to make it. Going to have to soak them daily
Just got the rest of my pumpkin patch planted last weekend. Put about 10 different varieties in the ground, hoping for a couple hundred pumpkins for the farmers market this fall. We'll see!
Y'all think a gardener could successfully grow pumpkins in a high tunnel. I would start in July live just north of Fort Worth, Texas. Growing blue bayou and fairytale.
For most crops, you just grab the end of the tape and yank it out of the ground. We reuse it multiple times throughout the year, but never roll it up. We simply pull the tape away from the garden, cultivate the area, put the tape back down and plant something else there.
We have an occasional issue with rabbits, but the dogs keep most everything else away. This stuff here works pretty well if you spray it when the plants are young: hosstools.com/product/rabbit-and-squirrel-repellent/
What can i do to make my onions grow? I grow in good compost from my horses ive tried beds rows even got some planted in a big 20 inch pot this year ive tried from seed and from bundles bought from my local greenhouses and feed stores i live in south east Ga so i should have big beautiful onions. Its frustrating
Haden McCormick some. But we add a good bit of compost and green manure via cover crops. So we don’t have a lot of issues with nutrients or pH being off.
Y’all sure have come along way from 5 years ago. Love your show! You’ve taught me so much and I so appreciate you!
Wow, thank you!

Can you rotate different winter squash, Example pumpkin this year and do speghetti squash next year?
It is best not too because of bug pressure.

That's great. Wish we could grow that many varieties down here!

Oh certainly. We grew a massive crop of Cherokee Tan pumpkins in our high tunnel this spring.
My pumpkin seedlings are just coming up with true leaves, I'm hoping to get some pies made from them this fall. Thanks for the great video!
Holly Marsh that’s exciting. Hope to see some pics of your pumpkin harvest in the Row by Row group on Facebook.
How was the harvest?
Are there any new tools/products in development that you can give us a sneak peak?
Chris Creech we’ve got a couple things in the works.
You guys are talking about driptape. What do I need to know to help me reuse the tape for more than one season? Trick to pulling it up?

What do y’all use to keep animals from eating your fruits, vegetables.. I’m having problems with animals eating my watermelons !!!

Plenty of water and plenty of fertilizer. If you're in south GA, plant in November.
thank you
Travis have you seen the red ripper peas that Danny over at Deep South homestead tried this year looks great better than pinkeyes
We did see those. They look great, although the pea curculio would probably destroy those as well if we planted some.
Do you guys do much soil testing?

Yall are funny with the names of the plants in French or whatever.... so tell me something? Are you all related in any way? Ken?
Kin... autocorrect
Trivit30 maybe.
