Superb viewing, I'm old I get it but the interviews & scenes reveal a time the kids of today may laugh at but they have so little freedom and less too come. Whatta Band & great upload! Cheers 110%

I love mick and when he told Jim that he was leaving simple minds that is when Jim started treating mick like crap but he had his reasoning for leaving to have a heathy life maybe his health was getting bad is maybe why he left i think of him as a master king of the world him and Derek do music together and I think that is great love both of them

He never officially left Simple minds. He told Jim and Charlie he wanted to take a year off after the street fighting years tour as they had been constantly writing, recording and touring for 12 years and he needed a break but Jim and Charlie refused as they wanted to go to Amsterdam to start work on the next album as they were on a roll after street fighting years so Mick told them you can go to Amsterdam but I wont be with you and the rest is history. If Jim and Charlie weren't so stubborn Mick would most probably be still in the band today and we can only imagine what classic songs and albums they would have made with his unmistakable sound on them not to mention his creative input as one half of the creative team was lost when he went as someone else on here has said without Mick Simple minds aren't Simple minds they're an imitation of Simple minds.

1989 was when he left. I read an interview where he talked about his departure from the band, but it seemed very vague. I've tried to find out his reasons, but haven't been successful.

Mick appears really "down" in this documentary, something was obviously wrong in retrospect.

Mick looked knackered in this. Sadly soon after he was gone.. then it started the I wonder who will be in the band this week thing.. They are my most favourite band of all time.. I just don’t like the constant turn over of line ups
