I really like how these two devices compliment each other for jumping from home studio to somewhere like a coffee shop and back. I have the mini, and still have a ton to learn on it, but I could see myself adding the Tracker Plus in maybe a year or so.
YES! To me, that's where the real power is. I've been absolutely loving the ability to jump back and forth between the desktop experience and the on the go one. I should have a video on that coming soon :)
Tracker Mini is such a clutch device, handheld tracking. I had the m8 and original tracker, preferred the tracker since the buttons on the right made navigation quicker
I have the original Polyend Tracker, and I love it's workflow and UI. The only problems are a bit limited hardware and lack of synths (I don't like to work with samples, but the workflow and a big pre-loaded library make it easier for me). The Plus Version looks like my dream groovebox - an intuitive UI that doesn't interrupt creative process, synths, 16 tracks and even FM-radio. I also love the Fill function - you can make a good song draft within minutes with it. Unlimited fuel for inspiration. I think I'll buy the upgrarded version when I became a better music producer.
Yeah it's definitely upgrades all around! However, the OG is still a great piece of gear. By the way, I LOVE your take on when it's time to upgrade. That's such a healthy mindset! Thanks for watching :)
Freebeat got me into trackers after the LSDJ video, since then i love the tracker workflow. Dirtywave M8 is my favourite tracker, although with the improvements to the Polyend i think it's worth me trying one out.
@@FreeBeatthank you, I've thought about it before but not got as far as being as productive as i thought I'd be in that time... ... maybe i can share something I've already made? otherwise I've always got projects going on, just takes me a while to finish off have enough with them that I'm done! only now an i raising the importance of stems... 😂😂😂
Bro is the vertical workflow intuitive? How do you for example edit one note hit in the beginning of a song a right after it a note somewhere at the end of song? Is the whole song somehow autocut into sections and you just jump right to end of song with one click lets say on a keyboard and it takes you to end section of song?
Each song is made up of up to 255 patterns. A pattern can be up to 128 steps long. These patterns are also fully nameable. You can then easily arrange them in song mode. It's VERY intuitive, and is one of the fastest ways to throw complex arrangements together on hardware.
The song you made sounds quite good, I think! So far I made a nice pad which sounds somewhat similar to your chord sounds. But the WTFM engine I don’t understand it yet and Perc I haven’t even tried.
To clarify this, the Mini and Full sized Tracker are not “upgrades” of each other. They are distinct product lines. They aren’t “upgrades” of each other per sey, from a product line standpoint. The Plus is an upgrade of the original. The Mini is a new product line. It doesn’t have successor yet. Yes, they share synth engines and some other “features” but it isn’t correct to say, the Mini is an “upgrade” of the original Full size Tracker. That’s just conflating things.
Would love to see a Digitakt 2 comparison to this. Seems like the DT2 got more performance updates and tracker + got more production updates. Both obviously have stereo now which is dope
I've honestly never really been into the Digitakt. Maybe I'll try one eventually, but as someone who is a lot more composition based, Trackers just suit me much better. Thanks for watching!
i have both DT2 and Tracker Mini and i would say it’s near to impossible to compare them in meaningful way.. on Paper DT2 is much more powerfull (audio rate lfos, better filters, better fxs) but Mini has iťs onw advantages, i love both of them … Did 3 track with Mini in last few weeks and iťs greatly inspirative device..
Appreciate your guys’ take on both devices! They both look great for creating exciting/inspiring music. I have the og DT and love it so much. I went the way of getting the Octatrack and thats been really amazing too. Happy music making ya’ll with whatever you use!
Wouldn’t worry, it beats the first one hands down...refined, intuitive, fun, reliable and adaptable...I was reasonably sceptical but it has become a firm friend and I use it far more than the original. It’s not a massive release in terms of unseen features so very little to talk about
It shouldn't been unmentioned that probably the majority of the og Tracker videos (or of any other groovebox) have been sponsored videos. My guess is that Polyend currently splits marketing between the Mini, the Play, Play+, and the Tracker+. Thus, less (sponsored) videos for a single device. And probably they know that users who are keen to use trackers in general will probably keep themselves updated on new releases anyways. So no current need for new sponsorings. That aside, the og Tracker is my go to groovebox, and there are so many little upgrades on the +... So if the tracker approach is someone's cup of tea, it's definitely a great device
I think it's mostly cause a lot of folks have already used the hardware in the OG unit, and then some of the updates have been on the Mini for the past year, the synths have been on the Play+, etc. The Tracker + is truly a fantastic device, but it's not really new. But it also is? Idk it's a very interesting situation IMO lol. Either way it's a strict improvement on the original, so if you liked that, you're gonna LOVE this.
Polyend makes beautiful hardware. You can't deny it. They are very iconic looking.
It does look very pretty!

Solid stuff. I just ordered a Woovebox the other night and I'm stoked, though it's fantastic seeing something like this in the works.
Nice! I hope you enjoy your Woovebox, it's a great device!

It's pretty wild how difference the experience is between the M8 and the Mini. I love them both so much, but for very different reasons haha.

Regarding the jog wheel - mine I recall starting kind of stuff out of the box, but with a couple hours of use, it loosened up a little bit.
Yeah mine feels like a dream now!

Can you play back samples chromatically that you have recorded into this?
Yup! That's still a MAJOR focus of the Tracker + :)

I still wish they added a random option on them synths to randomize the settings. I’m not into sound design and that would make me try it more.
That would be incredible! It's one of my favorite features on the Woovbox, and I could see it going a long way in the Trackers as well.

They can update it as a feature
Iam very suspicious at the fact that this has been out for about two months and almost none is reviewing it.
