The grave on which the Grim Reaper is located is already very old. Since the cemetery has been reaching the limits of its capacity for years, the option of a grave sponsorship was introduced for old graves whose useful life has expired. Interested people take over this and thus the care, may have their own relatives buried there. A stonemason family from Cologne felt the same way about this grave. Very important, in this family we talked about death even during our lifetime. And, it turns out, one of the sons wanted to be buried at the Grim Reaper's feet.
...and the little frog
Sadly, this son was the victim of a tragic accident when he was just 11 years old. The family complied with his request and buried him here. There is a small frog on his tombstone, which has clearly made itself comfortable there. The boy's nickname was "little frog".... the little frog and the grim reaper.

This cemetery was utterly out of this world. I was mesmerized by almost every grave and headstone. I know it must have been brutal for you both but I loved that pouring rain. What a wonderful atmosphere! You truly outdid yourself! Touché! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
What an incredibly beautiful cemetery. The cloudiness, thunder and the gentle rain just add to it's character! It gives me a combination of sadness, mystery and fascination. The monuments are amazing!
Hi Dan. This cemetary is beautiful in the rain so It must be even more beautiful on a sunny day. It's like a botanic garden full of monuments. My ancestors were vikings so I will be having my ashes taken out to sea also. No mess less fuss.
The Melaten Friedhof is about an hour from me. Have been there many of times over the years...a very fascinating cemetery. Gruß aus Deutschland
This is my very favorite walk ever. The sound of the rain, the thunder and the bird song... just amazing. Thanks for toughing it out. My family has a mausoleum and small cemetery plot in a tiny town on the prairie in mid-America. Its always been a comfort to know that I'll spend eternity with my ancestors.

If I can make a couple of suggestions?
1) Rain gear. C’mon dude, you’re an explorer. One must be prepared!
2) Stop wiping your camera lens on you pants! Get a good lens cleaning cloth. It won’t scratch the lens.
3) Keep on exploring. I love your videos, and look forward to them.
They are always interesting and never a disappointment.

People think I'm morbid for watching your channel. I love every bit of it. Living un the desert southwest where there's nothing but dust and 116° degrees today, I love the greenery. Reminds of the Midwest. Also the birds chirping, so beautiful.
Wow, what a beautiful cemetery. It is more like a park. The rain added to the atmosphere and the birds singing… just perfect. Loved the statue of the grim reaper. Have you read the book entitled “The Book Thief” author Markus Zusak? The story is narrated by the Grim Reaper and takes place in Germany. Highly recommended.

This is such a beautiful, magical cemetery, are most of these people buried here very wealthy or is this just normal for cemeteries of people living here? I love the little goat. I think this is the best graveyard I have seen, beautiful headstones and statues, and the floral planting is gorgeous. I keep saying I don't want to be buried, but I'll tell my children they can plant me there! I think I will have to start doing the lottery first though, they must cost a fortune! Thank you for suffering in the rain and getting sore eyes 😊.

Just one thing: it's Friedhof = peaceful court.
Unless there are stepping stones in the grave you are not supposed to step on the graves even if there is no enclosure.
Fun fact: the WMF company that still produces cutlery to this day used to manufacture angel statues.
Cemeteries are for the living and the awesome competition among the wealthy for the most beautifully elaborate grave is astonishing!❤
