- Digitech Ricochet CLASSIC vs. CHORDS MODES vs. Drop pedal
Classic mode is much better for downtuning. Here is a demostration that chords mode (what is in drop pedal) is not working well as classic mode in ricochet. I do not understand why drop pedal is not in classic mode because guitar stay tuned and it is not "ruined" as chords mode.
Ricochet in Chords mode vs. drop
drop - 0:02
ricochet - 0:20
0:35 - switching from chords mode to the classic mode
Ricochet in Classic mode vs. drop
drop - 0:52
ricochet - 1:03
riff with drop - 1:22
riff with ricochet - 1:38
Thanks! Exact comparison that I need.
It would be great if the digitech release new pedal which can do both up and down half steps as the drop or the whammy dt in this compact size version❤️
Rooooots blooooody roooooots
thank you for this yes the ricochet is way better
Any difference in performance between the two pedals, with latency/tracking and regarding the use of dirt/fuzz pedals?
nice, now I can buy the Ricochet with peace of mind, I want to have my guitar on D standard and transpose to E standard and C
Can the ricochet track any downtuning like ghe drop? Going step by step? Or is it more limited?
can only go whole steps per down tune. unlike digitech dorp, you can go halft step-by-half step. Like for example, digitech can do flat tuning, while the ricochet cannot.
Does the ricochet do what the drop can do plus the ability to go up in pitch? I am looking for a pedal to use as a “capo” and be able to drop
If your guitar is in standard tuning the ricochet does only step up or down (D), two and half step up or down (B), three and half step up or down (A) etc. But it works a lot better with this classic mode.
@@TheSoulflytriber thanks! Looks like I’m after the EHX pitchfork unless Digitech releases a new product. I like the tracking of the drop and was about to purchase it but I thought it could also go up in pitch. I need half step increments both up and down for what I’m looking for.
@@JoelCaseyJonesMusic You need the Whammy DT, you can go up and down 7 semitones
@@juanbautistamaciel6767 yeah I don’t want to build a new pedalboard to house that boat though. The pitchfork will do what I need in a decent sized pedal.
What settings do you need to play a Standard tuning as Drop D with a Ricochet?
I live in hope that digitech bring out an alternate tuning pedal as good quality as this - then I can play my floyd rose in any tuning!
Physically impossible without a hexaphonic pickup on the guitar. Graphtech make Hexaphonic Floyd piezo saddles to suit their preamp and a 13 pin output,. Alternately install a Boss GK-5 pickup but again, it only works with their new synth pedal or through an adapter to 13 pin units. Both are rabbit holes. The only plug and play solution for your use case is the now discontinued Line6 Variax 89F. You need to hope THAT platform gets resurrected. Unlikely, but at least physically possible. The pedal you're asking for never will be.
Your opinions? Which one is better or exactly to drop and why?
Regards from El Salvador.
Ricochet in classic mode is way better. But it's not working by half steps.
@@TheSoulflytriber Are the Whammy V algorithms the same as the Whammy Ricochet? It's probably I could to get a Whammy V for a good price, and I mostly want to use it to tune my guitar a step down like a Drop would. Do you recommend it to me?
Whammy, drop, ricochet basically the same digital pedal (algorithm) with different enclosure and options. But the program that change the pitch should be the same in all of them.
Nice idea but it would be cool to hear it clean to actually hear what they sound like.
