I have been struggling for months trying to keep food in the house, so today I decided to go to one of the local food pantries and I'm so glad I did, I was truly blessed today. Thanks for encouraging people to utilize the resources out here. I actually received three of those exact same apricot things, it would be interesting to see how you use them.
You got this! It is important for people to know how to use resources in their area! These are hard times and we all need to work together to get through. If going to the food bank helps the stress of buying food then DO IT, I say!
My kitchen table is always set for company. I do not want to tear down the place settings for the hauls. My house, my rules. Thanks for the suggestion.
i totally understand the you go to the pantry and you get what you get and have no say in it. we have quite a few pantries in our area but all are only 1 time a month and all are income based. they actively encourage you to go to the other pantries if you qualify because they all have different funding. 2 you go in take a number do an interview with a social worker and they deterrmine how much you qualify for. the other one is a drive up fill out a form that has your name and address and they load your trunk. the two tat do the interview are heavy on the sweets but you still get some produce, meat and pantry item. the other one you get cases of whatever is in the two simis. sometimes its meat, vegies and dairy other times its Doritos and mountain dew and like the one food you can't eat. it is kind of like playing a high stakes game of the show chopped
I get that. It is the very reason that I share the abundance with friends, family and neighbors. Things that I can not eat or get to much of goes to help feed others that are low income but work during the hours the food bank are open. It is my way of helping out.
I live in the state of Texas and the way the food banks work here is that they rescue food from grocery stores and restaurants by asking them to toss them into a box or freezer and they pick them up. They do this every week and what is rescued is portioned out and placed in a box. Everyone gets a box.
It really is! The community I live in is working hard to help out people and fellowship at the same time. It is crucial to get back out after COVID and get back to being around people. This is one way this community does this.
No, I don't. I have a small box freezer and the one on my fridge. That is it. I just utilize all the space I can to get it in and then I actually use the items to make my meals. I almost NEVER eat out. I prefer my own food.
@@justcallmesuzzie same here .. I eat out once a year when my son takes me to Tennessee. I’m now going to try to make my own tortillas… going to get a press for Christmas . Shhhhhh. Lol . I have a big Freezer.. I freeze everything..always been afraid to can . I live in north central Pennsylvania ..and is so cold already . Nice meeting you Suzzie.

If you don’t use the Irish Spring soap, open the box and put it anywhere you might have bugs. Bugs hate it.
