Sunday June 30th - The Various Shades of Pride

Different translations use different words to translate the Hebrew word that describes what the Lord detests.
In some, the English is “haughty eyes”, in others, it is a “proud look”. Yet, the root of them all is the Essence of Pride!
Pride is a detestable thing before the Lord. It is what caused Lucifer to fall. It is the sin that attempts to place man above God. Pride is manifested in various ways, and is formed through various experiences. Simply, it is formed when mankind attempts to sit above the Lord in authority.
This week, Pastor David will teach on the various shades or forms of pride and how we can resist this human desire.
“There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him haughty eyes,
a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes,
feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.” Proverbs 6:16-19
