Was surprised to see that this is the first video this channel has put out as it was really well done! This video made me appreciate Maguro as he continues to persevere through the various challenges Kana-boon has faced throughout the many years. I still remember the first time listening to naimononedari back in primary school which immediately got me hooked and ventured more into jpop music. I would like to see you cover bands not typically known such as Greeeen or maybe unison square garden.
Thank you for the kind words! Absolutely agree with you, the things he's gone through are worthy of a biopic. Naimononedari is certainly a great starting point. Yes! Those are two bands that I've already listed to cover in the future once I get more regular viewers. Would be amazing if I could introduce them to new listeners.
This is an incredible first video that had me hooked and nearly crying by the end. 10/10 damn good job. I don't know if you take suggestions, but FLOW was some of the first Japanese music I had heard and I think a deep dive on them would be great

I've been listening to J-pop/rock music for over a year, but I've never delved into the backstory of my favourite artists. Hell, I don't even know what some of them even look like, so it's great to see some sort of backstory those artists have. This is definitely a rabbit hole to get into, I'd love to see Eve, Yorushika, Vaundy, and many others from you!
wow for a first video this is really great, its sad to see the band that i loved soo much deteriorate as much as they have especially in the last few years with Koga and Koizumi leaving as they were my favorite members, i can't wait to see what they have in store going forward.

Also great first video!don't worry much abt your pronunciation at least you stay consistent with your tone,i remember recordings audio for my vid presentation once and it sound so god damn weird kinda a mix of voice crack and super low voice to avoid having voice crack.
@@-redz00 Usually don't like covers because they too often bring nothing new. But not the case here, Maguro's voice makes it a really different song. It's like hearing remix of haruka kanata and Silhouette.
Thanks! Voice recording is definitely the part where I struggle the most, plus the cheap mic doesn't block out noises at all so super time consuming😅 Hopefully I'll get used to it.

I really like your video. As someone who has been listening to japanese bands for quite a lot of time, I think it's great that nowadays we have introductory videos like this. Now it's a lot easier to learn more about these bands and not just associate them with an anime. Most of the time theres so much more in their catalogue.
But why use the tag J-pop? cause this is J-rock.

That's a good question. The way I see it, for international audiences, J-pop isn't a music style but more of a term that describes Japanese music in general. Obviously in Japan "Silhouette" is categorized as Anime song and J-rock, but as a channel that's mainly dedicated towards international fans, I'm tagging J-pop as a gateway for people who want to explore more. Hope this explains👍

Thanks! Eve is pretty high up the list, but I'm gonna be quite busy in the following month so it's more likely you'll see it in October.
I remember checking out their music after star marker and man the amount of song they have under their discography is insane, to make a comparison of how insane it is i look up kenshi yonezu discography (who had made his major debut a year earlier) and he has 4 album,15 single and no ep, while kana boon has 6 album,25 single and multiple ep.
the crazier part is 90% percent of their single has a 1 or 2 new track to come along with them. Im not sure much abt this but looking at their album they never reuse the bside of the single to bolstered up the track list, they just make a new track instead.
Insane work ethic also kinda unhinged (not sure if this is right word) considering they are known for their live tour and went to concert festival regularly .
@@-redz00 Yea it's really incredible work ethic, so many albums and EPs these days are filled with singles artists have already released. And like I said in the video, they kinda overworked themselves a bit, they deserve to take some time off every now and then, instead of new song, live shows rinse and repeat.
