Does Dandadan Have The Best OP/ED of 2024?

Dandadan has been THE anime of this season, and one thing that is as eye-catching as its story is its OP/ED lineup. Creep Nuts is undoubtedly one of the biggest stars in J-POP this year, and ZUTOMAYO albeit their lack of tie-ins with animes has been one of the most popular music acts in Japan in recent history. Now the question is, with such a luxurious pair of artists, does Dandadan have the b...

I wonder doesn't Japan have a system where those who started malicious rumors CAN BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. In my country lately, there's a celebrity who took action towards a user who started rumors. The police literally tracked him for the crime. If they still haven't implemented it, hope Japan will one day take control of their social media.

Even sadder is that people keep saying gakki looks sadder/not as "cheerful" as before her marriage as a means to attack their marriage, when she's always been a big introvert and literally publicly stated many times she isn't a confident and cheerful person irl. They hold her to their OWN fantasies and unrealistic standards and then defend her accordingly. A lot of people who spread the rumor didn't actually care if it was real or not, they were just happy to see an opening to attack Gen and hopefully get their "goddess" to divorce. It's sick.

those kind of delusional ppl would hang on to any speck of unknown words from any unknown sources just to justify their hate towards another person. and that's what makes them rotten through the core. i'm gonna be petty and wish these delusional ppl would experience something much more worst than what they have inflicted towards these lovely couple. i wish that hoshino gen & his wife would keep staying strong and prove how these kind of petty allegations will not flatter their good relationship. i love this couple ever since their drama broadcasted, and will love them both for as long as i can.

they should've sued that twitter/x account that spread the lie. I understand that Gakki & Gen probably wanted to leave this all behind but imagine if he/she does this to other celebrities & it does not end well (eg suicide etc). And a new law against online bullying & misinformation should've been introduced. I'm enraged that that x account user can still continue to do this to other celebrities in the future. he/she should've been identified and brought to justice, not just with that half-assed apology.

I'm surprised Hoshino doesn't go after the guy for defamation. He certainly has the right to and should to set an example of what happens when you slander someone especially without proof and apologizing after the fact. Disappointed in Japan but not surprised. Remember what happened to that Japanese jazz pianist in NYC during the pandemic when some blacks destroyed his fingers, he never pursued it as it could've been easy as there are most likely cameras near the subway entrance. New York just didn't care enough about racism towards Asians during this time and lumped all Asians (Japanese or otherwise) under the yellow peril umbrella. Glad Japanese chicks aren't head over heels for white guys anymore after the pandemic seeing how they treat all Asians. Still see those couples after/wm couples from time to time but not as much as in the past, one positive thing post pandemic.

I've been to one of his concert during his Pop Virus Dome Tour. It was my first ever concert in Japan and it was an amazing experience. I didn't know much about him until after a Japanese friend invited me to the concert as well as introduce me to his music. From what I saw at the concert, he seemed like a genuine guy. It's a shame that this drama happened to him and his wife. Hope he'll be able to release new music this year.

The people in the comments saying " Title is clickbait , not all of Japan hates Gen" is like saying " It's not that many, no big deal." Fking ignorants. Whether it's just a few people, or a whole ass country, these kind of coordinated hate should be addressed. Literal human lives were ruined here and all of you are downplaying it.

Within idol (and by extension, vtuber) culture, these people are referred to as "unicorns". I do not know the actual origin of why this word is used, but if you were to as me, the word fits. Why? Because these men are a minority among minorities, are rarely seen by the public, and harbor a uniquely fucking batshit insanity and obsession with the "purity" of their idol. In other words, they live in a fantasy world. I remember when the news broke about the marriage. I saw quite a few people on Twitter mourning the "loss" of their beloved Gakki, as if she had died or something. Even if there's an asymptotically low chance their idol would percieve their love for her, and even though the chance of her returning those feelings is even lower, neither chance is zero while she's single. For them, that's enough to justify holding onto and stoking those feelings. I understood, but I couldn't relate. I mean, simply loving their idol doesn't make them unicorns. They're just gachikois (die-hard fans, lit. "serious romantic love"). Still capable of the same deluded wrath against anyone who they deem hurtful to their idol, but still healthy enough to integrate in society. They acknowledge that they and their idol live in two different worlds. For the most part Gakki's gachikois either retracted their support respectfully or adopted a "her happiness is my happiness" stance and stuck around. Those that didn't fall into either category...well, you can see what became of them in this video.

There really should be rules against spreading false rumors and engaging in selective bullying. It’s disturbing how quickly people jump to conclusions without knowing the full story, causing unnecessary harm to someone’s life and reputation. This kind of malicious behaviour needs to be called out and addressed. Even the victim shouldn’t have to decide on punishing the perpetrator-there should be laws in place to handle such cases, ensuring accountability regardless of personal involvement. Being polite is a good quality, but when it’s just a facade, it means nothing. True character is shown through actions, not empty gestures.

And yes, she is beautiful and I'm happy that they are happy, and she was there for him during this hard time. It's really messed up how social media people in Japan can ruin someone's life out of a sense of moral superiority.
