How to add Vectors Using the Component Method

- When we say component method, we are actually breaking our vector into its x and y components. The process of breaking a vector into its components is sometimes called vector resolution. The original vector is the hypotenuse of a right triangle.
In this video, I will be assuming that you are a master of solving the resultant vector of two vectors that are perpendicular to each other or the angle is 90 degrees. Therefore, using the Pythagorean theorem is an easy task for you. I am assuming as well that you know how to use the Trigonometric Ratios in finding angles for you to be able to identify the proper direction of the resultant vector. Now, if you are struggling to do these things, I recommend you to pause this video, and click the link below to watch the video on how to add vectors in two dimensions.

thank you so much for explaining every little detail with regards to this topic!
Best explanation ever in this topic
Fact
You literally saved my life, thanks bro
Excellent explanation.!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EXPLAINING THIS SIR
IT RELLY HELPED ME
TKS FROM INDIA
Awesome! This was very helpful!
Thank you
Really great explanation! Thanks
DAMN, THIS WAS EASY, WELL NOW THAT WE ARE CLEAR, HAVE A LIKE
hi sir. Is that right that when finding the angle, you use tan-¹ |y/x|. Is that absolute value?
Yup, absolute value.
wow, so simplified
Well explained thank you
Very nice explanation... Thanks bro
what if this is aplha like 5m, 40° east of North how can u do this and converting it to theta
Can you make an example with a negative Vr x or y component?
What to do if the given is East of North
you save my grade
Glad to help..
Hi what if a vector doesn’t have an angle and is not too near the other angles. Can i still use them?
When u say "a vector doesn't have an angle" u mean it points directly to the x axis or y axis? or u mean there is an angle but it is not given in the problem?
TeachArc yes it points directly to the y axis
@@picklefren7967 if it points directly to the y axis, then use 90 degrees as an angle..still x is cos and y is sine..if the vector points to the x axis, then use an angle of 0..
TeachArc thank you so much!
Bakit naging 7.77m yan diba negative si 6.06? Edi dapat -2.23 ang result ng x_component?
10 + 3.83 - 6.06 = 7.77m
can you post a video about vector subtraction?
HEY! I wanna know that why the direction is north of east? Isn't it"ll be East of north?
PLEASE ANSWER.
Because he used the angle 58.56. If he used 31.44 (since 90-58.56=31.44), then it would be East of North. He has a good video explaining how to identify directions:

Correct! Thanks..
@@icomment5514 Okay Thanks
Why it is north of east? its not east or north ? 58.56° is part of east of north
what if the vecotrs have different units of measurement?
Convert them so all will be the same unit.
Hello my teacher said " Use sine for Bx Use cosine for By" is she wrong???
It depends on the angle that u will use..Sin for Bx and Cos for By if the angle is with respect to the vertical.
