You are an amazing teacher because you put your heart and soul into it. Some teachers just slap stuff together and act entitled to their classrooms, whereas I feel like you are really making a difference and shaping minds and making the classroom a joyful experience.
I LOVE your channel even though I am. Student. Your videos just the perspective teachers have. Although mine are very lazy. You enthusiasm and dedication is amazing.
Have you thought of getting a wooden crate and create a file system for the hw? When I was in school my class had a similar system where we would file our work and hw there, it sort of reduced the need for a larger file system
I enjoy your vlogs! I especially like your enthusiasm and positive attitude. I thank you for that! This will be my 12th year teaching and I love getting new ideas from you. Have a great school year.
Hi Brigette! I'm so glad your first week went well! I'm sure your kids had a blast....I know I would have!!!!! Remember to take time for yourself this weekend and enjoy time with your family so that you can be your best for your students on Monday! Love your vlogs and I get so excited when you post a new one!!!!!😀😀. Take care and can't wait to see your next vlog! You go girl!!!!🍎
Loving your vlogs! We love Each Kindness too, such a perfect beginning of the year read aloud!! Also, the emphasis on making choices - so important. Keep up the awesomeness!
I look forward to your videos as I'm preparing for my back to school. I had a decorating idea, not sure if it's been said, you could hang dozens of keys from the ceiling! They're cheap in craft stores & it'll look like the sorcerers stone challenge. You're doing great. Glad the move is working well for you! Best wishes!
Thank you for your videos! So inspirational! I learn so much from you everytime I watch your videos. Also, you are so right when you stated "ain't no tired like teacher tired."
This was my first week as well. I have enjoyed watching you as you have changed grades. They have helped me feel better about being stressed about changing grades as well.
When we first started using Booksource we trained a few students on how to add books to the system. We set up an assembly line with 2-3 computers so that kids could add the books, another student or two labeled the books with the guided reading level, and a few more placed the books back on the shelves. I'm not sure how long it would take but if you trained a few students on how to do it it could be something they work on throughout the day as an early finisher or during silent reading time.
Bridget--I'm lovin' your vlogs! "Yay" is what I say when I see a new one posted! As a side note, super duper also lovin' Planbook! Thank you for introducing that to us! :)
If you use a deck of playing cards there's no prep for making groups. They take a card and you can have groups of 2 (matching number and matching color) or groups of 4 (matching numbers). Or even if you just want two or four large groups you can do it by suit.
I really love your videos and ideas! 😍 I am an English Teacher too , but I teach in Tijuana, MX. And Also my students loved the jenga Game!!! Thanks to Mr. G too for the great idea!!! Saludos y Bendiciones 💜🙌🏼
I love your channel! Loved hearing your reflection on talking about books. Thanks for updating so often. I teach third grade and it's my second year. I noticed that you have picture books displayed. How do fourth graders respond to the picture books? Also, do you struggle with engagement, no matter how fun you try to make a lesson? I have a few pretty reluctant learners and it makes me so sad that their love for learning seems a little deflated. Can't wait for your next video!!
Also, I've been so inspired by how you always try and have the students solve their own problems when you see a problem in your classroom! Really made me think about how we want our students to grow as thinkers and problem solvers!!
P.S. Crates work really well for a substitute mailbox. each student has a file and I put ALL of their work in it. Doesn't take up much space which I *heart*!
I love your videos so much even though I'm only 16.. But I'm hoping to become a teacher! Thank you for making these and for making me so excited for my (hopefully) future career! :)
I have a colored popsicle stick with each student name on it. I use these for grouping and for calling names when they are all participating (if I pull a stick and they dont want to answer, they can pass). I have done this for years in 3rd and 5th and it works awesome. Classroom library.... mine is a mess and I have been trying to work on it a little each day. As far as scanning out books, that seems like a lot of work. Could you create a chart where they write the book name and you have a student librarian who checks out the book? Just an idea.... I might actually try this myself....
Sorry to hear that. My back walls were already damaged and I received permission to glue the paper up. It is not actual wallpaper. You can see the process in some of my past videos, but it sounds like it may not help you. I have heard some teachers putting down painters tape first in spots then hot gluing on top of the painters tape...I am not recommending that, but I have heard that other teachers had luck using that process.
You are an amazing teacher because you put your heart and soul into it. Some teachers just slap stuff together and act entitled to their classrooms, whereas I feel like you are really making a difference and shaping minds and making the classroom a joyful experience.
Thank you so much for the kind words, Rachel. I really do try by best everyday, I won't fall into that practice...Focus and Passion!!

Ps love the vlogs

Learn Like a Pirate is one of my required textbooks for my reading course.

"Ain't no tired like teacher tired" PREACH!

I am going into my very first year of teaching in kindergarten! Your channel has honestly helped me so much. :)

You can add books by ISBN and students can search for books by ISBN so they don't need to scan if there isn't a barcode.

Thank you so much, Marlene! I'm glad to hear that it is working out for you!

I also used sets of paint swatches from Lowe's, Home Depot and Ace. Free!

Thank you so much! Great to hear from teachers all over the world! Mr. G is AMAZING, I am so lucky to have him as a cousin :)

Bridget- You're amazing. I'm so inspired by you.
Can you take a picture of your Choice Wheel for us? Pretty please. :)
*snaffles a pink student box* I love those :D

So exciting! Stay focused and stay positive!
You make me want to change careers to become a teacher! :-)
Have the real small group table arrival yet?
No luck as of Friday :(
love your channel. how did your students react to their new classroom?
I have a colored popsicle stick with each student name on it. Your videos inspire me soo much. Quick question did u choose to do tables instead of chairs? They are gorgeous
Just wondering if you are incorporating the Harry Potter theme into your teaching... Just found your channel and love it btw!!!
what is your theme
What size of exercise balls did you get?
I bought them at 'Five Below' and I don't remember the actual size, but they fit nicely.
How does your flow of the day work since you have a partner teacher but are in a Separate rooms. Your videos are great ❤️
Did you wallpaper your classroom or did you stick up the wall effect? I have brick wallpaper but I'm not allowed to wallpaper the walls

pity that there is no subtitle of video
hi
Does your school provide you with booksource login? I down loaded the app but it says I been my teacher password? Thx
I was able to just create an account. I think it does require a school email address, but you should be able to do it.
Are you left handed? Random but I saw ink on your left hand so I was just wondering.
I am right handed :)
