I’m glad you were able to get the vaccine! I got my second dose yesterday and I’m so happy that the vaccine supply is increasing every week 👏🏽 We’re slowly getting back to normal

I have my first shot scheduled today. As a healthy 30 year old with no underlying conditions, I definitely understand the feelings of guilt. However, I have to keep reminding myself that I am getting this for those around me too - just like you. We are all ready for this to be over, and the more people that are vaccinated, the sooner we can get back to some sense of normalcy.

when I got my vaccine, I was also tired and my arm was sore and that was about it. I completely understand the guilt feeling, but if you're eligible you're doing the right thing by getting vaccinated! It helps those around you as well as yourself!
yes! my arm was sore too, curious of how the second shot will go but so grateful regardless of any symptoms

I felt the same as you! I got my shots (Pfizer) in February and at first I felt guilty because I telework. But I’m military and so the “pot” of vaccines my shot came from wasn’t available to the general public and so the way I see it there is still some members who are choosing not to get the shot (it’s not yet mandatory for us) so I figured I’m doing my part in protecting those who aren’t ready to receive the shot.

Hello Amy, I think you did the right thing by taking the vaccine. I cannot wait for the moment I will be able to get mine... although here in Italy things are very slow and from what I understand I will have to wait a long long time for my turn to come...

In Indiana vaccines are still for 50+ or people with autoimmune diseases, but the county I go to school in decided to give 500 doses to my school to be given to students. Its a lottery system, so I have very little hope of actually getting it, but I really hope I can so that I can visit my family again.

I live in Bethesda MD and had to drive three hours to get my vaccine. Got the JJ one and came down with what felt like the flu 12 hours later but I'll take that over dying

Hey Amy, it's great you got your first shot. Don't worry about if you have guilt about jumping the line because I personally know individuals whom are eligible for the covid-19 vaccine and refuse to set up an appointment to get one. Just when you take your second dose of the Moderna take an Tylenol or Motrin right after the shot. just to adjust to some side effects. My wife had every side effect listed on the CDC website dealing with Moderna. I had the Johnson & Johnson one shot and had no side effects at all. Well good luck with your second dose. Take care.

I don't think you should feel guilty about getting the vaccine. But it is a fact that lots of people who are working "frontlines" are not actively being vaccinated first. I've been working retail in DC for a few months and not I, nor any of my coworkers have gotten to be vaccinated yet. Retail people can't work from home but we also aren't counted as "essential workers" for the priority lists for vaccines unless we have a condition, despite having to come into contact with lots of strangers every shift. I still think it is good that you got it. My coworkers and I are feeling some sense of relief from the fact that customers feel less like a "threat" now. If we get sick at our job, we don't get paid for the time we have to take off...so anyone that is allowed to be vaccinated at this time should get it, because it helps everyone in the long term.
yes for sure, it seems like dc is trying to get a good "balance" of people vaccinated maybe in hopes of herd immunity? hopefully you and your coworkers can get one soon!!!
I got my first shot at Georgetown hospital Friday, still no idea how I got an email to sign up but slots are definitely opening to a wider range of people.

I feel bad that you feel undeserving of a vaccine. You don’t have to feel that way. Plus choosing to go with the one that would’ve been wasted is an even better choice. I was vaccinated pretty earlier on since I am an essential worker and I’m can tell you that many people who work with me did not want to take the vaccine. If you get a chance and an opportunity, go for it. You don’t have to feel bad about it. What’s also good is that the vaccines are being rolled out to even more people and hopefully we are get chess pretty soon.

I feel the same about getting a vaccine. I want to be vaxxed, but on the other hand there are so many people out there in my area who need to get it before me. We haven't had the start of general public vaccinations yet, but it is supposed to start soon, and there is a 'caveat' of sorts that allows me to be one of the first in line, but I think I'm going to sit on it a little longer. I hate to think that a health worker or someone with a high risk factor would miss a shot because of me.

I can't wait to get my vaccine, but in Québec, you can't get it right now unless you're 65 and older. Mostly because that is the bulk of our hospital cases. I really can't wait, but probably won't be for another few months 😕

Don't feel guilty about getting the vaccine, it's there for people to have! I went to the nurse for my cervical exam and they had someone not turn up for their vaccine so I got offered it so that they didn't waste it. In the UK we are doing pretty well with the vaccine rollout - finally a glimmer of light at the very long tunnel.

I was just watching another youtuber flight attendant who never wears a mask and then gathering with a bunch of grandparents no mask whatsover SMH. I commented that I Hope those older people are vaxxed and the backlash I got was unreal. I don't understand people. SMH
