@@MuddyBeards4X4 Man I'm pretty sure you'll end up changing the front links but it looks like youve already got a big project on your hands and probably battling project fatigue. I say finish what you've started first, and enjoy it, get it sorted out then re-tackle the front. It seems like you havent really wheeled in awhile so I know your feeling it! I like what you've got in the works though. Im VERY interested in 4-linking my rear (front is already 3-linked) & installing a NP241 rocktrac or a Atlas II. getter done!
If your front suspension works... don't mess with it. One thing you might want to play with though is to remove one of the uppers. It will flex a whole lot better. I will have a video out at some point of the testing that we did on the RTI ramp about that.
I went with the stinky fab 4 link on the front of mine, I like it a lot and I really like their control arm mounts. I got my fox 2.5 shocks from accu-tune they are very nice to deal with
Coming from someone currently doing a 4 link and dove nose on an XJ.......Stay with what you have if you want to go wheeling. Making big changes takes a lot of time.
Run the radius arms, don’t change what works good already, save the time and money and get back wheeling again. Spools are positive reassurance, simple is best.
I both look forward to the day where I can park my jeep in the garage for a few months and do a total suspension swap but also I don’t envy the cost in both money and time 😂 can’t wait to see it finished
@@MuddyBeards4X4 I had them on my 01 XJ and now I’ve got them on my 99 TJ . Tough tire that can handle rough terrain ,decent in mud, and great on trails.
I just won't have a speedo. Speedo has been way off since I put 33's on the first week I got it lol. I have seen guys put a tone ring on the output shaft to make it work, but not sure I'm going to sink that much time into a crawler that won't see the street
I’m building a set of super duty axles for my xj as well. Do you think it’d be doable to squeeze 16” coils on a triangulated 4 link up front? Thinking of just triangulating the lowers…
I would love to see what you come up with. 16's are pretty long for the front. Def will have to be sticking out of the hood. I'm sure it can be done though
I don’t think you will be happy with a spool up front especially since you don’t have a the option of rear 2Low. I would run a Aussie locker before I would run a spool if the budget is tight. Get that thing up and running and wheel it, homie.
I'd just roll with what you got on the front suspension and if it gives you a fit upgrade it later. The build is looking great!
Run what you got. Like others have said "if it ain't broke no need to fix it" get that thing done and on the trail brother!!! It's looking great!!
Excited for this, wheel it as is. See how it works, if it ain't broke don't fix it
Put the spool in the rear and the zip locker in the front
Definitely.
Run the radius arms and get it back on the trail. Upgrade down the road.
That's what I'm thinking
@@MuddyBeards4X4 Would be the smart thing to do

Also seems as though we shop at some of the same places for our major hardware...Barnes & East Coast Gear - I live in Raleigh
Both outstanding companies
super happy this is back
Me to man

Thanks Robbie! Can't wait. 👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Yeah man bring it on.. Good to have you back.
I'm looking forward to the finished build!
So good to see this build once again!! Hope this time goes to the end!!!
Just run it. Once your break things you know what you need to upgrade. Looks like a beast now, dang.
Excited to see the plugs back!
Me too. I need to get this thing back on the trail
id keep the radius arms they are cool and work
Yes thanks for update
👍
Nothin wrong with radius arms if properly setup they work very well
I agree don’t mess with a good think keep it how it is.

👍I would like to see that
@@MuddyBeards4X4 subscribe to Level Up Offroad. I'm slowing getting it done.
I saw your video on tubing the front half. Looks awesome
@@MuddyBeards4X4 thanks
Very awesome! Excited to see it all come together!!
Ya i understand the farm work. Its always slowing me down from my build
It's a never ending job...
I’d say if you happy with the radius arms keep them and get it on the trail. 🤙
Just keep the radius arm. I have the same set up on my Jeep. No issues yet. If it isn’t broke don’t fix it.
Run the radius arms, don’t change what works good already, save the time and money and get back wheeling again. Spools are positive reassurance, simple is best.
Agreed

I’ve been running maxxis Razr’s on jeeps for years now! Great tires for sure!
That's great news. They have some great reviews
@@MuddyBeards4X4 I had them on my 01 XJ and now I’ve got them on my 99 TJ . Tough tire that can handle rough terrain ,decent in mud, and great on trails.
I have heard they are pretty solid in like every terrain. So I'm pretty pumped
@@MuddyBeards4X4 I’m pumped to see the ol trail plug back out there!
Leave it and test it if you don’t like it you can change the suspension but if it works run it
I say send it with the radius arms and upgrade later if you feel the need. Curious to see what you do with the JK case for the VSS and all that

@@MuddyBeards4X4 Smart phone and the speedo ap. work fine for me.
Damn Robbie, you sure are sinking some money into the old Trail Plug.,💪💪
Yep. One ton swap and cheap don't mix lol
Maybe I missed it but your need frame stiffeners before anything. Again maybe I didn't see them. Other than that great set up should be a beast!
Oh ya its got stiffiners. Tube goes all the way through un. Welded on both sides
I'd stay with the radius arms. If it works it works. No sense spending unnecessary money when what you have works an works well.
If it ain't broke. Then why replace it? Just roll with it when it comes to the front axle
Just run what you’ve got suspension wise if it works for you.
Leave it! If it ain't broke don't fix it!
I think that's what I'm leaning towards
I’m building a set of super duty axles for my xj as well. Do you think it’d be doable to squeeze 16” coils on a triangulated 4 link up front? Thinking of just triangulating the lowers…
It's gonna be tight...

I have 16in ori’s and double triangulated 4 link on the front of my xj but I had to do a big stretch.
Sounds sick
Run the radius arms and get back to wheeling
I sent y'all another email about an upcoming build I have. Hope to hear from you :D
Leave it dude
What are your rear link measurements
The length of the arms?
@@MuddyBeards4X4 ya lowers and uppers
I'll have to measure tomorrow but I believe the lowers were around 26inches and uppers a couple inches longer to set proper pinnion

Upgrade it after the jeeps done if you still feel it's necessary don't go down the while I'm in there rabbit hole
Haha Iike that advise
2.45 looks like a cracked weld
On the radius arm? Def not cracked, maybe undercut but has held strong for 6+ years
Wheel it till you break it…
If the front works the way you want then dont change it. Get her put together and let's hit the dirt.
🤘
If it works, why bother wasting the money? Keep the radius arms, and send it!
That's what I'm learning towards
@@MuddyBeards4X4 but if you change your mind and feel generous, you can ship me the radius arm setup 🤣
Haha
@@MuddyBeards4X4 id buy them though if you do decide to change it out.
3 link and you will never look back .... So glad I went 3 link would never do anything but 3 link now
Triangulate 4link is the way to go...3links suck
Don't fix what isn't broke
