Dang, this is an awesome review and that picture quality is phenomenal! Pretty crazy what this camera is capable of. I also enjoy trying to have the best looking setup in Zoom calls 😁
Solid video, but you missed the most important thing as far as a recommendation. The mark 2 of this camera will be out in the next 2-5 months. Rumor is it will keep a similar price point or maybe a little higher. Anyone looking at this would do well to wait for an announcement/release. They may either be able to get better features for the same price or a little more or find a steep discount on the mark 1.
I completely respect the sentiment, but there’s nothing beyond rumor on when a mark II might be released. And if/when it does hit the shelves, perhaps the bigger point is the OG will still be a great choice for beginner creators to make great content (although the price analysis will then be different). Thanks for watching.
I got one second hand, bought by the original owner 2 months ago and it still looks brand new. For only $400 ! It's my second camera but it's already my favorite ! Great video btw, subbed :)
100% Yes. I Just got it. No kit lens. Viltrox 23mm f1.4. I am using the elgato 60 pro 4k via HDMI capture card and dummy battery. I have even tested cine lenses with T1.05 and it is perfect.
You’ve really jumped right in. This vid was filmed with the Sigma 16mm 1.4 and I think it looks great. I’ve not jumped in the world of cinema lenses yet, but great to hear they work great too.
Close to the set up I have. Bought the ZV-E10 when it came out and first lens was the Tamron 17-70 f/2.8. but then immediately got he Viltrox 23mm f/1.4. That was the staple of my shooting for a long time, and still the two most used lenses I have. Excited to see what the new ZV-E10 II coming in a few months will bring. My hope is 10bit, at least 60fps no crop or slight crop, and a better LCD panel. Baking in LUTS with the 10bit in SLOG3 would be epic.
@@Chaelaz completely agree that 10 bit color on a new version would be incredible. I rented the Tamron 17-70 for one shoot and it worked quite well, but it didn’t feel quite as sharp as the Sigma 18-50 I already have.
Purchased my ZV-E10 last year for my birthday, and it runs like a champ………it’s also my first “Real Camera”. Thanks for the good video, and , you have a new subscriber. 🍻
Being new to creating content, and owning a A6000 with a couple Sony lenses. The ZV-E10 for the price seemed like the right fit for me starting out with UA-cam. Well presented Matt. Subscribed.
I have a zve10 as a gimbal camera for weddings. Pro mist filter and vnd filter on it. Set the colour match to a cinetone to match my fx30’s and no one says anything but “beautiful shots”.
Any camera is a capable camera in the hands of the right person. I light my shots making sure that The colour is good in-camera. Using the sigma 18-35f1.8. Shooting in 24fps 4k.
The closest thing to a competitor to Sony ZV-E10 is the Nikon Z30 (or ZFc) and I have the Z30. However, for people preferring Sony then this is certainly a good choice.
Sony ZVE10 looks nice, question, generally speaking, 4k is not needed for you tube, do you just upload only one resolution and you tube downscales your video for you? I also thought you tube were going to limit 4k to subscription service only...
I agree that 4K is not a requirement for UA-cam, but it is typically recommended. And yes, you just upload in one quality, and then UA-cam and/or the viewer decides what quality to watch in.
@@mattliller I'm designing my video spot, how come you don't brand more I see a lot of youtubers that put neon signs on wall with branding. I noticed a lot of successful channels with dark room and lit up as needed in general. I'm creating my space now and blacking out all outside light sources to better control my light consistently. .
@@mattliller Yes I agree, since I'm new to this space I'm scrambling a little, trying to get a good start, I'm more in the computer, network storage space, but I still need to know how to video, light and edit my stuff...thank you once again for sharing your experiences with me, I appreciate it., hopefully i wont have version 1-2-3...lol, my kid takes up most of my time, between schooling and cooking...do you use one of those teleprompters, i just discovered some of those today....everything from the apps to tablets or screens that do it...wow its getting more and more expensive.
@@stevenraz8756 Perhaps my biggest advice is not to overcomplicate things. Start with the basics and see what you need from there. Content creation doesn’t have to break the bank. Many people start with just a phone and cheap mic. All the gear in the world doesn’t help if you don’t know the fundamentals.

Thanks soooo much Tom! Truly means a ton that you took the time to watch. You’re one of the greats!

These are rumors nothing official so people could be waiting for no reason.

I plan on getting this camera very soon

I prefer XS10 ♥️
Great camera but I ended up trading up for thr a6700 due to lack of a evf, but there are times where I do miss the zv over the new 6700.
I agree that the a6700 has a leg up on several features, both photo and video.
I would disagree. 10bit color makes a huge difference.
I agree 10 bit is important for a pro level creator, but not really necessary for any beginner.
❤
zv1 not zve1 :)
Never said I was perfect!
Ya I bought it and returned it a month later...horrible camera
Interesting perspective. Just curious, what didn’t you like about it?
Short answer: No!
Aww, I think it’s fantastic for any beginner to intermediate content creator.
Buy a DJI Pocket 3 instead of any SONY mirrrorless camera.
Pocket 3 🤣🤣🤣
This trash camera should be no more than 200 bucks lol the rolling shutter is so awful lol
Ouch! I think 4K and 8 bit color are worth a bit more than that.
ZV-E10 most overhyped camera ever...
Aww, I don’t think it’s overhyped for that quality at under $800.
And one of the best selling. Guess it worked for quite a few folks.
