omg! Ir's the Hobby Center for Performing Arts in Houston! I thought I recognized the outside of the theatre then I take another look on the inside of the theatre and was like," Yep! Definitely it!" lol! Love this show!!!!! :)
31 hours over I think 3 1/2 days they start loading in the advance stuff on Sunday night and finish on Wednesday. the first week of any engagement of the tour always includes a Matine that first Thursday.
Naa im sure they won't change much, probably jsut the staging a bit =) She'll still fly - maybe no lift for NGD. still don't understand how the wizard and dillamond can be the same person ... =/
For touring productions (in the US at least) she flies in DG, but they don't do the lift for NGD because most theatres don't have a lift in the exact right spot. As for the wizard and dillamond doubling... do they do that in the UK? I've never heard of that
@@haydenpolsky995 In London it is 2 different actors but on the U.K. Tour it is the same actor. I can’t remember how they did the scene where Dillamond is under the blanket and the Wizard says “We couldn’t let him continue speaking out”. I think Dillamond was an ensemble member wearing the costume since he doesn’t actually have any lines.
George Chlada She actually doesn't. It's all just an illusion. Unless the theatre actually has a trap there... But most don't and so there is a set piece to make you think she does.
Most of the time, on tours, they don't use elevators like the one in no good deed. Because they're only going to be at the theatre for 5 weeks. There is NOT a set piece that makes it look like an illusion Elphaba always comes out but sometimes in a theatre there is not as much basement so they just crouch down under a door.
I love how it still says "A New Musical" like it's not 15 years old XD
Ikr when I went there in NY I thought it was new and im like wait but I saw a commercial 5 years back XD
I like the privacy curtain they put up to hide the Defying Gravity cherry picker. Gotta keep that magic alive!
Wait when?
uh? you can see it at 0:47
What is that?
@@prismaticmarcusthat’s a genie lift they use it to focus lights

So this is how they minimise the set for a tour? Looks great! This might be the way they do it for the First UK National Tour XD
This is in Houston I saw wicked at this theater!
I'm surprised there not using steel decking to put the stage portals up and the flats
Both tall columns front left ( built in Staircase) and right (morribles stand in DG) looks like the only two things to go. =(
I'll Try To Start In Thomas Land Tomorrow and Get Ready I Build Veggietales on LIVE
Wow. Amazing. I know it takes like 7-8 hours to strike. How long does it take to set up everything?
31 hours over 2 1/2 days
Does the time dragon move for the touring shows, or is it only a dynamic piece at the Gershwin?
On tour it moves left to right with automation, On Broadway it’s a puppet with stage hands pulling ropes to move it left to right 😊

a show like wicked with holes in the ground like people come out of or go in to the stage floor how do they changed the regular stage to fit that?
Magic ;)
***** well i know for a fact during the finale elphaba comes out of a trap door on the tour.

Well here in Chicago the theatre had a trap and I know for a fact the 1nt had elphie come out of the floor for every city without a set piece.

The set looks quite poor compared to the west end/broadway one
Having a (more than) decade- long residency in two of the largest houses in each market sure does help haha
