Congratulations on the 1000+ subscribers! I have two family members who live with schizophrenia and they've been able to live long lives, and have managed their symptoms well using medication. You can survive and thrive Stephen!
🎉congratulations!! Keep going!! We need you! You are so brave for sharing. You are helping to destigmatize schizophrenia. I’m a mental health professional, and not only are you helping some of my clients already you are helping me!
Hello Stephen. Congratulations on 1,000t subscribers! You're a Godsend to the mental health community. When you help someone, you in turn are helped also. I see that happening here on your channel. Your beautiful smile warms my heart. Thank you so much for opening your life here. It helps more than you know.
Thank you Cheryl! Your comment is incredibly valuable to me. To know that I am helping other people as much as I am is amazing to me and I didn’t expect it. It is very fulfilling to me and my life! It fills me with happiness. Thank you again!
Congratulations 🎉👏 on your 1k+ You are a game changer in the stigma Stephen. You are helping to open the eyes of the blind that stigmatize mental illness. You are the new generation to schizophrenia awareness. THANK YOU! I will continue to share your videos and shorts 💞 👍 🔔
@@SurvivingSchizophrenia that's awesome that you remembered that I'm an advocate for this young girl. Her name is Morgan she's only two years younger than you. And has had the similar pattern and started at the same age of onset. No one has heard her cries because of the stigma. YOU have opened the door to knowledge. And knowledge is key 🗝️ 🚪 Ty my friend.
Thank you for your boldness and intelligence to communicate what your going through. You are blessed to have a supportive dad. My son is autistic,OCD,PTSD,bipolar, psychosis, etc. You are doing better!
Congratulations Stephen! Thank you for sharing your story, it has helped me understand and support my son! Most important for helping break the stigma! Blessings to you! 😊
Thank you very much Paul! All of your comments mean so much to me, especially coming from a NYC Firefighter! I have a lot of respect for you. Have a happy and healthy rest of your day!
Congrats on your 1000+ subscribers. 🙂 You also highlight a very valid point here Stephen about the needing to talk, discuss and shed the burdens of suffering, getting everyone to a shared page of understanding on all manner of afflictions (especially families). Having to deal with afflictions is bad enough, then there is the diagnosis on top. I'd imagine it's like a 10-tonne weight. Loved ones will have a immediate point of focus on constantly checking on how someone is feeling, coping etc. which is rightfully so, but once in recovery all those emotions are still raw and unprocessed. There is a need to talk. There is a need to talk for the sufferer to process those emotions, build better understandings of what happened, why it happened and to be reassured that they are on the road to recovery. Then there is also the need for loved ones to talk, to process their emotions, and to share those emotions and concerns as healing continues. It helps to rebuild family relationships etc. and for everyone to start to focus on a healthier future from a place of understanding and healthy communication with less or no barriers. It also helps a sufferer to move forward from a place of constant scrutiny and a feeling of perhaps inferiority to one of getting their story out, taking back their pride and self-worth and moving forward putting past trauma behind...🙂 From my own experiences I would say to put the past well and truly behind there is a need for closure. We know we have closure when we can look back at past events with clear understandings, positive take-aways (even if it's just learning to pre-empt declines in our mental health) and no negative thoughts when looking back. If closure is needed I would imagine confiding in health teams etc. is the way to go... Just to add these are purely my thoughts (I'm not a health professional etc), but I share them here in the hope they might help.
Congratulations on your 1000+ subscribers! I feel so proud of you Stephen for your helping de stigmatizing the terrible disease.. hope to see more videos from you!
