Oooohhh...now I get what the 'actions' part does, it's basically predefined if conditions for events. Silly me. I'm used to coding, but these days I don't have the time to go through all that shit again, so I'm looking at drag and drop alternatives. Nice tutorial.

Smehow, in the GM, it is way easier to make smooth accelerating/friction based movement, than to simulate binary speed control of the old games...

why are my collisions really jagged and glitchy?
Like it! But the wall collisions are a bit glitchy when in 1x1 small corridors
could I get this in code so I can adapt it to my movement system?

I can't figure out why, but my sprite (using a single sprite as a test) is jerky when I move. :(
I am also jerky but only going down
i think your problem though is the speed var being set to low
