He perfectly encapsulates the feeling of leaving or being left by someone in a relationship where you felt it was the one but they didnt. He has real exceptional skill as a songwriter to make these emotional ballads that trigger you. Monsters about losing a parent, this about losing a partner. He does have a few more pop songs that arnt so deep, but really when he writes ballads, he wrecks your heart with it :D
James Blunt's song is one of the most difficult song to sing, w/o bawling. The way he pulls your heartstrings with his delivery and the lyrics... 😭

So i have an interesting take on this one, i know this was uploaded a year ago, but hopefully it will be seen, my take on this song is different than a breakup. What i mean is, I'm still with my wife after 16 years there have been a few rare times when it seemed like it was over or coming to an end, we have 4 kids now, but when i listen to this song i feel what could have been, in another universe maybe we did break up and non of this is real. Its sorta like a warning and a message to Not leave the one you love! i felt that way in 2016 when we separated for a few months and it was probably the worst time in my entire life but it lets you know what you really want in life and whats important, anyway good song and great reaction the music video to this one is touching too!
