a 30FPS experience on ARM is damn decent. Cant wait to see it once optimized.
It's not that great, considering the Apple CPUs which are also ARM and perform much better. Worth mentioning that Apple has been ahead of this for years so for a first generation yes it's nice, but not impressive considering the market.

@@maximusasauluk7359 the samsung x elite launches the m3 max out to the ravine -_- mac os is made for arm, windows made for x86/amd64, the benchmarks say alot about the chip.
+ the games are not running natively on the x elite.

500 pc games support at launch. That's really good, and hopefully, it will be a turning point for Windows support of ARM hardware. This makes me excited to see what Nvidia could do if they designed a similar SOC, considering how efficient their gpu architecture is.

@@LeeLee-fi7mx Nvidia GPUs are quite bad in terms of efficiency. Apple chips are the most efficient. M3 Max integrated GPU cores are more efficient than any efficient comparable compute Nvidia GPU. What are you smoking man?
@SahilP2648 In terms of gpu efficiency, why would you even mention Apple in the conversation? Shows how little you know. Take a look at reviews of Snapdragon Gen 3 Vs apple a17pro and you'll see despite being made on an older process, the gen 3 smokes the a17pro in terms of performance and efficiency on the gou side. Even snapdragon Gen 2 performs on par with the a17pro and throttles alot less while being made on an even older process. Dude, stop believing Apple's marketing slides and actually read technical reviews before you comment on something you have no clue about.

I didn't say anything about their mobile chips.
Seems a bit slower than the z1 extreme. Not bad for a first gen product. Though it uses 23 watts so it isn't super efficent.
Doesn't really bode well for the switch 2 having fast performance looking at this result though. The switch 2 will have to rely on dlss.
Initial drivers are not stable also Microsoft arm emulation

@@pranavsharma7479 I don’t think that will help too much, the performance is literally double on the ally titles like red out at 2 at 25 watts and control, even with driver suppor, I doubt they can double the fps.

@@coffeeaddict477 They have Thunderbolt 4 so, presumably, you can do external GPU's. Question remains how it will perform when you take into account the translation layers, any cpu bottlenecks,etc. Still looking forward to seeing the results.

@@coffeeaddict477You'll likely have to wait on Nvidia's upcoming CPU with Arm architecture and their GPU technology, slated for 2024.
Just make the drivers public for all OS,
community will take care of supported games.

Not a gamer, but if this is super energy efficient and runs my Windows apps perfectly, I'm tempted to get one of these for my new laptop.
So are these games running on top of a translation layer that translate x86 instructions to ARM ? If that is the case, then this is pretty interesting
My guess? Qualcomm has finally gotten Vulkan to work in Windows. Their previous APUs lacked OpenGL support (past OpenGL 1.0). The bits in the game written in architecture instructions are usually related to loading and launching.

This is what I've always dreamt about. A processor that can run high quality games really good without any extra gpu. With just it's built in graphics processors.

That depends on the software, either the OEM or Windows. I find that my WOA Surface Pro will still hibernate, so not like the iPad or Macs.

Felt a lot of Motion blur in control. Snapdragon XE seems very late to the party especially QRD performance seems good for first gen. I'm unsure about third party vendor performance. XE does seem like SoC in 2 in 1s with AI performance and very good travel device with great battery life.
It would be interesting to play World of Warcraft on this thing in a 40 man raid, or a 40 vs. 40 man bg on higher settings. Wonder if it could handle it

The impressive thing is that the GPU is embedded into the Snapdragon X Elite and it's still giving high end console quality performance with those demanding games. also, this is Qualcomm's first time making an actual soc processor for a power PC.
if those games are playing at 1080p low then the snapdragon x elite is barely matching the amd 780m
Matching? My 780m blows those number away. Though I get the video isn't a "this is faster than anything" but more of a "look, its possible now".

Qualcomm will need at least 5 years for software and games to be optimized for the Snapdragon X Elite series. 5 years from now I hope there will be Linux or Windows Handheld Gaming powered by Snapdragon X Elite Series.😊

Great development. On a different note, they could have at least made the demo machine look more polished 👀. Looks like it has a few dings and the logo / branding looks like a knock off version (but it’s actually the real deal)…. I guess it’s all raw at the moment.
Portable gaming is the future, whether it's a handheld or a laptop. I anticipate that many PC brands will join the handheld market following the success of devices like the ROG Ally, Legion Go, Switch, and Steam Deck. MSI is already using Intel, and there are rumors suggesting that Sony might reintroduce a handheld device again a standalone not a streaming device for a PS5 hopefully. Additionally, Microsoft is rumored to be planning the release of an Xbox handheld, and it would be exciting to see them incorporate Qualcomm Snapdragon technology. I would also like to see Apple develop a gaming handheld using their M1 chipset. Nintendo Switch will likely continue to use NVIDIA technology. Furthermore, it would be great to see Alienware release the Alienware UFO handheld, and I hope Acer and Razer will also join the market.

While this is certainly impressive considering Qualcomm is historically idiotic when it comes to gaming and this is all done in emulation, I don't get why there are articles claiming that this is in any way comparable to AMD's 780M. At best this is comparable to the Steam Deck.
With this CPU on something like the steam deck, will be more powerful than AMD IGPU and hell of better with battery life

no... its a super hyped up phone type processor to compare with Apple's low end processor in things like the Macbook Air.
@@AyaWetts but it has the same architecture as apples m series processors and the people that made this for Qualcomm were ex employees of apple who made the m series, so I think it's only a matter of time before they surpass apple, after all this is their first generation processor and they are already on par with apples low end m 3rd gen series processor.
And apples next mobile processor is gonna lose to snapdragon 8 gen 4 cus they are bringing their oryon architecture to it, it's expected to have an antutu score of more than 3 million. Leaks of A18 pro shows it has 3500 single score and 8500 in multi,
Snapdragon 8 gen 4 has a,single score of 2845 and multiple score of 10628.
8 gen 4 will leave A18 pro in the dust. In multi score.

Productivity doesn't necessarily demand high power. For example, the ROG Ally can smoothly handle tasks such as video editing, multitasking, and graphic design. However, in gaming, there are certain games that may challenge the Ally. Yet, if any device can manage any game, it's likely capable of handling any task you throw at it.
Gaming is the only benchmark to prove it's potential.
