    maybe some radio interviews next? if so, where would i start?

      So, you can find many videos of this kind here on youtube, many of theme are published by F1 itself. A video that has been reacted to a lot is something along the lines of "Best team radios of the decade (2010-2019), and it's mainly radio messagges of Kimi and Alonso, which have some of the most iconic, funny and straight forward radios. This season F1 has also been publishing a video after each race (10-15 minutes long) with a recap of the best team radios of that gp weekend (so free practices, qualis, races and eventual sprints). And always on the F1 channel you should be able to find compilations of the best team radios of each season, or at least the most recent ones. I guess it depends on wether you want to react and analyze the most iconic ones, or the ones of the drivers on the current grid, 'cause the first video I mentioned include Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel, who retaired respectivelly 3 and 2 season ago. Hope this help, I can find some links if you need them :) Loved this video btw❤

      Great to see you doing more F1 again! I'm not sure how much you'll get out of listening to radios, as they're usually just short clips and rely heavily on the context of what's going on in the race.

      I recommend listening to radios from Max Verstappen and his engineer GP and watching clips from them out of the car. they're an iconic duo and I think it will be interesting to compare their communication during high-pressure situations (like a race) and their "normal" day-to-day. there are compilations of them on youtube, here's one that i found: ua-cam.com/video/REPCLR0utMA/v-deo.html

    Please react to them giving presentations! That one really shows their characters. What I really like about these guys is that George and Alex are quite close friends, so maybe that's why they bounced off of each other more in this interview.

    Lando has the quickest wit of them all, his one liners are killers 😂, and he is self deprecating because he is careful not to disrespect others. People tends to automatically call Lando immature because he does joke and laugh a lot, but listen to him talk about his mental struggles, laughter covers up a lot. You're pretty spot on about Alex.

    • @maxpbeaumont
      @maxpbeaumont  Місяць тому +15

      Adding to this, the interview was asking a lot of questions speculating abt 'who's the best?' and 'highest highs/lowest lows,' and it just didn't look like he was comfortable answering those questions. Whether it was bc the McLaren had only recently started performing well and he didn't wanna jinx it or him not wanting to disrespect his friends, he just didn't seem comfortable and his normal confident/witty self in that video

    • @maxpbeaumont
      @maxpbeaumont  Місяць тому +11

    Alex really is the most humble guy in the grid. He's genuinely here for a good time and doesn't fuss too much over the whole media & PR side of it all. I also love his relationship with his girlfriend Lily, who happens to be a pro golfer. They're both super silly and they simply just fit.

    I'd love more reactions about Alex! Alex is extremely quick witted and can be very silly but he is also an extremely deep thinker with deep analytical prowess about himself, his career and others. He's an extremely personable character. They did a 2019 rookies video so could be interesting to watch that and see if they appear differently overtime :)

    This dynamic is quite interesting as Alex and George are pretty much best friends and have been for years (George was even living with Alex and his family at one point) so they feel comfortable joking around and making fun of each other (for example Alex always makes fun of George's shirtless IG selfies), but Lando also doesn't seem as a complete third wheel either which I think is mostly thanks to his amicable personality and humor. Always enjoy the F1 vids, good job on this one too.

    As a Brit, I think the keeping yourself and your friends humble is quite a common thing. We don’t like to be too showy off and we often don’t like to talk about our own achievements. In fact, 62% of London workers feel they are bragging if they talk about their professional successes. I think you can see that in other British celebs like Tom Holland. He always said his brother keep him in check and keep in humble, and when you watch an interview with Tom Hiddleston or Benedict Cumberbatch, they’re usually very modest. Even British sportsman like Andy Murray are the same.

    i think the missing piece here for this analysis (talking specifically about 7:08) is that i guess it needs to be taken into account that in order to win a race let alone the championship the car is just as important as the driver's skill (if not more). So I don't think George was necessarily being less humble in this case it's just that in that moment in time he had the better car and everyone was acknowledging that

    George and Alex are best friends. They go on double dates with there girlfriends, they have been to each others childhood homes, and even lived together at one point, Lando’s kinda like a 3rd wheel 😂 (and btw I would definitely George is one of the most humble and caring drivers out there and he’s definitely the most successful in my opinion 3 poles & 2 race wins)

    I agree with your analysis! At the time this was filmed, George was the most accomplished by a fair amount and only recently has Lando/ McLaren found success.
    A lot of the "checking" of arrogance from Lando and Alex to George comes from that.
    Lando is not as transparent, i agree, but on the other hand it seems he is too transparent for negative emotions as seen in more recent interviews which is an interesting dichotomy. Journalists and fans comment on his extremely noticable negative emotions and ex drivers are starting to comment on their worry that he is too visible with his negative reactions. I would like to hear your thoughts on this, perhaps in a later video? Clips from Post race conferences in Spain, Austria, and Silverstone this year are all examples of him wearing his heart on his sleeve.
    Alex is the most humble, that is very true. Alex is great fun both on screen and journalists say he is great to talk to as well!
    Hope to see you react to radio messages!

    I don't remember if was Carlos or Daniel saying that the best part of Lando is how he reacts to a joke.He always laughs.Alex is shy and humble and helps George(his best friend)to stay grounded with his irony.On the other way, George is always been the first to publicly defend Alex when his former team wasn' t correct with him.

    I agree with all the other comments about the Rookie of the Year presentations. You will need the background info thi, that Alex was in one of the top running cars, Lando midfield and George was in a back marker car.
    I'd also recommend the McLaren milk challenge (back before Lando drank alcohol and said his favourite drink was milk).
