I really like how Shannon carries himself and he has some interesting personalities on his show, but in my opinion this is his best interview yet..... Hands down.. Too Short is a hip hop legend and he and Shannon talked like they old friends... Kudos Shannon...And this is coming all the way from Trinidad....👑😎
Short Dogg still got that Oakland twang when he speaks. I could listen to him tell stories all day. Love it! True story: I bought his first tape (freaky tales) from him at the Hilltop mall in Richmond CA - one of the parking lots out the trunk of his car. I think JC Penny parking lot. The cover had the skull and crossbones printed on construction paper. I still have the tape.
Grew up in the Yay. My older brothers were bumping his Original music in the 90s so I caught on as a kid. Then i grew up playing his music around 2000s. When Shake that monkey, blow the whistle and a Whole lot of other classics came out. Dude has hits in lots of eras
Loved this Too Short interview!! Grew up on him!! Shannon you the man!! Love you and Skip!!! Keep going keep up the great work!!! Praying for your continued success
Come on man! This interview is EVERYTHING!!! Too Short came with it. Great stories, good advice, he was on! And it looks like the dude is taking care of himself good, like he’s been working out or something! Shout out to Shay for this as well. Do your thing bruh!!!
Freaknic was epic old Atlanta. I went to my first freaknic in 95 the year I graduated from high school. Also attended in 96 and 97. I grew up on the east side of Birmingham so that hour and a half drive was was well worth it. But honestly I've been going to Atlanta since I was a kid in the 80s going to visit my aunt every summer and frequenting sixflags and white water. Now I live in Dallas and it reminds me of what Atlanta was in the 90s.
Lol my dad always brings up buying a cassette off short dog in the 80s when he used slang them out his trunk in the Eastmont mall parking lot before he exploded.
This was a good interview especially the Freaknic conversation. Anybody that was down there at that time has a story to tell. 95 was the most crowded over a million showed up that weekend
Shannon loves to entertain on his show with Skip but oh boy his timing is genius bcuz he allows the guest to speak freely w/o interruption. You would think short n shay were family bcuz da vibe masterful n shay has a comedic presence on film. Short is articulate n outstanding at telling stories he illustrates so ppl feel like we were present. Nice job on both parties n outstanding video
If this is Shay i appreciate you highlighting my comments. And, i loved you as a Bronco you played a great style of football and by you being inducted into the most Heritage and prestigious honor which was getting into da Hall of Fame speaks for itself. However, oh boy your second career in broadcasting is as stellar of an accomplishment thus far brah you be having me rolling when your rebuttal ya boy Skip pure unadulterated entertainment at it's best. If you happened to stumble across my reply plz keep grinding bruh and job well done my good and faithful servant. 💪💪
A common theme back then with west coast artists in general back then was kinda sad funny thing during my times of freaknik west coast got the most play in rides from the chronic slbum to all eyes on me the above the rim sdtk
And Tupac is my favorite artist of all time so I loved them Tupac stories.. You could tell Too Short liked Pac .... You could see it in his eyes when he's speaking about him......
This was a great interview. Too Short always has excellent interviews ans knows how to tell a story, which is why he's a legend in the rap game, but he was on another level here. I'm glad I stumbled on this channel, I was glued to the tube.
I was at that Freaknik '93 when Too Short aka "The Mentor" and his boys were in the ATL. Short was out on the streets just kicking like a college student showing people love even though in my eyes he was the Goat of my era!
The Word prophesied the manner in which the Diospra... the house of Y'ahudah would be transported to the Americas or " strange" land: Deut.28:68 And the Lord shall bring thee into EGYPT AGAIN with SHIP'S, by the way whereof I spake unto thee, Thou shalt see it no more again: and THERE YE SHALL BE SOLD UNTO YOUR ENEMIES for bondmen and bondwomen, and no man shall buy you. Genesis 15:13 And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that THY SEED SHALL BE a a STRANGER in a LAND that is NOT THEIRS, and shall serve them; and THEY SHALL AFFLICT THEM FOUR HUNDRED YEARS; 14 And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.
This is the best interview ever... I love Too Short interviews but this one from Shannon is the GOAT I love this show I know his show will be rated one of the best platforms
I have too say one of the best interviews ever. I wanted too hear more. Too Short is such an interesting person. Put me anywhere and I’ll find my way home. Word
Wow this was a super interview with one of my favorite rappers. Too Short is a cool dude and who I deem as the rapper who “brought the bass’” Great job Shannon💕
Love to you Too Short!!! ❤️ Thank you for keeping it real and telling the truth. 85% of our local homicides are kids between 17-21 and are all start-up rappers. It’s a different world now than it use to be. Also, thanks for the reminder of the good ole Atl days! Those were the fun times.
I remember seeing Biggie for the first time at freaknik 93' at piedmont park. It was a rumor that the cops were on strike or something. Best time of my life..94 and 95 wasnt bad either..It was so much love..No one got killed no shootings..that I knew of...It will never be duplicated!!
Everybody in my hood on the East coast had a Too $hort (Dollar Sign) gold chain back then singing, “My name, Too $hort!” He’s definitely a legend in the rap game
Thank u Shay Sharp thank you Short Dogg. Savannah love yall 4 life fam. I meet Mr. Sterling Sharp in Augusta Ga..Trill Brother. Thug Luv from the C Port
When I was a young am Short stayed in my cd rotation. The guy is a corner piece of hip hop. He don’t get enough credit. I’d be rolling yelling “What’s my favorite word?!”, while my girlfriend turned wife just gave me the stank eye and shake he head at me. Still to this day with six kids they all know when Short comes up in my playlist 20 years later it’s getting turnt up. Always will be a fan from SoCal.
Short Dawg giving the game on how to stay safe in these streets. Too many people wanna be flashy on social media and in the streets. Staying low key is definitely worth the advantage it gives in protecting your life. When a person gets taken out the loss of life is a ripple effect that 99% of us don't take in consideration while we out doing our thing. Soak up this game youngstas as well as some of you old-heads who are continually leading our youth down the path of destruction. Much love to all. R.I.P to all the fallen soldiers. Shout out from Baton Rouge
That wasn't a interview that was some Legendary Playas Reminiscing 💯

Salute to Too Short! Been hearing him since I was 6 or 7 years old back in the 80’s! My brother used to play his music religiously.
The history told in this interview is amazing. I love how Shannon just lets it flow and the story told. This is amazing

I like how he lets people explain themselves before interrupting them like all these other interviewers do.
Unk in my Mount Rushmore of interviewers. The most genuine sports analyst in tv history.

I love how Short was smart enough to evade the GOAT RAPPER argument. That is his specialty. Gained respect
Aye I ain’t expect to be locked in to this episode like this… Great interview Shay 💪🏾!
Lol my dad always brings up buying a cassette off short dog in the 80s when he used slang them out his trunk in the Eastmont mall parking lot before he exploded.
Born To Mack changed my life as a youngster in STL. Respect to Short Dog.

Appreciate the game $hort. You were one of the first rap dudes I listened to and been bumping it since. STILL. I learned a lot from ya Big Dawg.
My favorite rapper in the 80s 90s and 2000s
Freaknik is an Atlanta legacy. If u wasn't there. Stories will not do the justice! Was life changing 💯
Yooo I wasn’t there but developed most of the photos in the photo department from it, it was crazy
"I've been your age, you've never been mine" RIP to your Grandma Uncle Shay Shay, clearly you've heard amazing things from your Angel 🍻🍺
