Some very cool and much needed features but I don't see the need for 2 versions of C1. All these features I could use on location, I already stream to 2 satellite monitors with a transmitter and an iPad with Capture Pilot on the beach. Are the session files compatible between C1 Pro and C1 Studio ? As a digi tech, this is a major source of problems. At times there is a .1 version change and the session file is no longer readable to my clients. Maybe a plugin, that allows you to open a session from a different version even if u cant use certain tools or features ? At least you would be able to make selects and process.
Totally agree. Kind of a mess having different versions. I also don't like this product strategy where there is a "pro/studio" version and a base version with limited tools. I do love Capture One, but this actually sends a bad message. To me is like a warning sign. I might start looking for alternatives.

Same, I've been using Pilot to push to iPads and web in my studio for years and it's been a pretty great solution. One big issue I've run into is that with OS 13 they made peer to peer networks more hidden, we found a work around and that was fine, but with OS 14 it seems there's no way of running a peer to peer network that I've seen without some programing in terminal to get a similar type of ad hoc network running. My next work around was just getting a personal hotspot to use when needed. But unfortunately it looks to me like C1 has no plans on keeping Pilot around. They haven't updated the app in a couple years and I can't imagine they're going to maintain a feature that competes with this newer, kind-of-fancier version that is bringing money in on top of the base software subscription. I'm pretty sure at some point soon we're going to see Pilot missing from C1 altogether.
I've been an advocate for Capture One and a huge fan of the innovation and power house of a software for images that it is, but the business model they've been building the last few years, and the terrible support, has been pushing me to start looking around. I really despise the fact that they've joined so many other software companies in phasing out perpetual licensing.
Is the new Capture Pilot replacement functionality only available in Capture Studio?
Does the Sony settings adjustment require a firmware upgrade on the camera side or is it internal to C1?
I've already paid for it, but what I'm questioning now is where I can buy such a large display screen and that weird stand

Why 2 versions? Totally agree it's a mess to follow both for you and for us as it was saying. At the end this will be 2 differents products and one will dead. I hope it's not to survive !
Is Capture Pilot going away? Sad to have to pay more to get the new one. Also, I shoot often from Capture Pilot when I need to be slightly away from the computer. Can you shoot from the new app?

Yes we do share Capture One live link with the customers in the same room.. Yes it is inefficient but for YOU! Since its overloading your servers. Our internet is unlimited anyway. And I am sorry I am not going to upgrade so that you reduce the load on your servers. 😂. Bad incentive to upgrade
The new features offered definitely do not worth additional $200 price increase, although that multi screen preview feature was something I was wishing for a long time. I will wait.. The most important feature that needs to be added is REALTIME COLLABORATION. It is when photographer can have his own copy running and 2 assistants can run different copies and all in real time and can all adjust images, rename them and create masks. Also please add a feature where LOG IN is enough to pull all customizations including workspaces, naming policies and export recipes, to the new install. We are tired of using third party workarounds to match the running copies. I can propose new features for studios and improvements for hours but want to keep it short. So many things need to be done before asking for 200% price increase.

Very useful update particularly the speed of the AI Selection tools increase - will really speed up my workflow. I can totally understand why the new Studio version has extra team/collaboration tools but I cant understand why you have gave it better non-team specific tools such as, for example, the face element of the AI Crop tool?
I really don't like this....i payed full price for capture one pro, and you slow it down to get this that has nothing of interest to me...apart from speed. You guys start to disappoint me more and more.
I believe you got it all wrong. Pro was actually improved for speed, not slowed down. In the studio version they are offering some new features that are not needed for regular photographers. Although I also believe the new features do not worth extra $200. I operate 3 studios and I won’t be upgrading until they offer features that really worth that price difference. I was always wishing they had that multi screen preview option with crop for clients and digitech.
Your videos are always WAY too long what was stopping you just editing out the countdown your approach is ridiculous
Hey Marcus, the book mark in place can speed you right through to the start or any other relevant chapter you wish to view.
Unfortunately a long standing bug with UA-cam means editing out the front portion on a livestream often puts the audio out of sync if you view on an Apple TV.
With tools in place for simply skipping the countdown or even fast forwarding, I decided that was a better solution for all.
