This is really close to a "how to" video. Thanks for sharing.
Dangerously close! Haha

Great video as usual,,still recovering from brain rot from Binge watching last week 😮 Skanktastic maintenance regime
That specific variety of brain rot might be untreatable:)
clean those bad boys... 😀some good ol fashioned maintenance... well done
Nice! After catching a saw on fire from lack of cleaning and other factors early in my career, I now try to take a day a week to pretty much just clean and sharpen saws.
Fire! Dang that sounds wild! bring your marshmallows to work that day I guess :)
Yep...always
Thanks for sharing
👀Interesting. I think, Im all caught up this fall, I hope...maybe. 😆😁 I'll see how it goes and keep this mind if I have extra time. Good information, thanks.
Nice work
It needs to be done! I tend to use my files longer than I should and then I grab a new one and wonder why I've been fighting with a dull file for so long. Air compressor is your friend when you run chainsaws for sure.
For years I'd dull a file, then just put it in the drawer for another day ... only to find it frustrating again. Doh!
@@metaspencer Yeah, now when I know they're dull I make sure to put them in the scrap pile.
Enjoyed the video. Lots of work keeping the Chainsaws running top notch. (I guess UA-cam must have deleted my original comments.)
Dang that YOuTube! good to hear from ya man
Amen my friend... 👌👌😁😁.. regular maintenance is a must..
You said it man
Great stuff. I think if you clean your chainsaw before you wipe your shoes on the door mat of your house... you will be a happy logger :)
Great motto to live by
The doormat of 'her' house?🤣👍
Thanks. Need to ask my husband how often he cleans the chainsaw on a pole he bought me years ago for my birthday.
If he looks at you like "Clean the what?" you'll know :)
It's good to pop the clutch drum off .grease those needle bearings and blow out under neath behind.
Oh man I've gotta dig in there more frequently ... probably nests of critters in there by now on my saws! :)
Good stuff.
Hate the gunk.
You said it man
Great vid yer i sharpin often. Cos hate dull. But only 3 to do. An have vice on the ute. Great for sharpen fast at work. Thanx
A vice in the ute! I like the sound of that!
I keep extra needle bearings plugs.sprockets .feul filters. And of course green wheenie filters from Gordy the best filters period. To cover a few .and muffler gasket s
You're organized man! excellent
@@metaspencer sadly only in that area ...I try...my dog was killed by coyotes and am behind work wise realy waz hard thing. Family issue and more to it of course .stay safe
@@Sethhaun78 Sorry to hear about your pooch, buddy. that's really rough ... we have a lot of coyotes here but our dogs have stayed clear so far. hang in
You know, I feel your pain brother. I have a toenail clipper and a fingernail clipper that I have not cleaned or oiled in years.
And my toenail clippers, look a lot like that dirty, skanky chainsaw.
Anywho brother, take care and may Father YHVH God bless y'all. 🎉
Oh man, I don't think I'll get that image out of my head anytime soon! :)
@@metaspencer LMFWAO
Man you got arsenal of saws 😛
hoarder situation? could be :)
Lol
Do you have a rule of thumb for how often to flip the bars? I always did every time I put a new chain on. I was just cutting for my use and had a pro sharpen my chains so I'd start the year with 5, one of which was new each year
I flip them every time I sharpen unless I get confuggled … I like the sound of your old system
@@metaspencer I'd buy a new chain every year and retire the oldest almost worn out one to brush cutting duty where contact with the ground was inevitable
Amen Spencer very religious thing for me 👌
good to hear I'm not alone :)
Ahaha i thought i had a problem with buying chainsaws! How many do you have? Ive had my eye on that pole saw recently. How do you like it?
The pole saw is a wonderful tool -- once in a while. I don't use it every day but sometimes it'll save yer butt or get you into a safer spot for a dangerous cut. Yeah, they just keep piling up around here too :)
Yeah ...I'm the world's worst about using a file way, way too long!
too long is better than never!
Compressor is only way ..need one on the truck..just don't have room
I added one of this little guys to my truck a while back ... definitely comes in handy www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004K25GMG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
