Get your fact right before commenting wrong informations, Both Chennai Palazzo and Coimbatore Broadway IMAX are of 70x39ft. Palazzo is Xenon 2K Projection IMAX with 6 channel audio. Coimbatore is Laser 4K IMAX with 12 channel audio. Broadway is a far superior theatre in terms of both sound and clarity.
Imo what plf screen lulu mymoon is intented to come there it should come there because they might not have built audi as per imax size and even if imax comes there it might be same size as that of cinepolis imax. Its better they build large audi for imax somewhere else in kochi that way we might get way better imax and we will have 2 imax in different locations of city rather than having 2 imax with same screen size on same area..

You are wrong. Large screen size helps to add more immersion and it certainly gives a majestic feeling, that's it !! Projection and Sound are even more important factors when it comes to a movie theatre. Also when the screen size gets larger, the projection quality gets reduced by a huge margin unless it has a Dual Laser Setup. So having a 1.90 small screen with IMAX Laser Projection shall make image quality very sharper and a 12ch IMAX audio system in such a small auditorium would lead to an epic sound experience. I thought he might bring one in lulu mymoon but it turns out to be something else. Now that cinepolis is bringing one, yousaf ali will definitely notice it, forcing pvr to bring imax in lulu pvr as well....

Most probably it will be 6 channel audio as the auditorium size is small. They only give 12 channel if the size of the auditorium can atleast handle 60ft screen. That's how pvr inox do bussiness cant say the same about cinepolis as this is their first laser imax in india but most probably they will also do like that.....
Actually there is nothing like that , if you give the money imax would be ready to equip any sized auditorium with 12 ch. I had enquired this with SURIA KLCC IMAX at Malaysia

No you're wrong. 1.43 is not restricted to just 70mm film projections. The GT theatres use 4K dual laser projection that also shows in the complete 1.43 AR. But the quality is obviously superior on film as opposed to digital. But the image quality of film isn't a huge deal breaker for movie watching. A dual laser 4K projection will still be superior to the eye and won't make a difference unless you're really pixel peeping which I don't think you would be while being immersed in the glory of the 1.43

Another thing is based on artistic factors of cinematography that quality or resolution is not a big deal but resolution and quality is important for better watching experience and detailing, that's why imax digital projection use dual projectors. Celluloids are really like a painting but digital visuals are built with pixels that is the main difference. Technically, old 35 mm film's quality is digitally equivalent to 6k pixels, but till our digital standard cinema is only 4k pixels.

Some movies like Aquaman 2, Godzilla x Kong New Empire, Dune 1, Dune 2, Alien Romulus Etc are 1.90:1 ratio full screen IMAX Exclusives. ie, 2.39:1 Ratio at other theatres. The director and editor decides the Aspect Ratio, not the theatre. Earlier theatres used to zoom in and fill the screen, now that is not allowed. INDIA doesn't get 1.43:1 DCP because 70mm IMAX Film Theatre that plays movies are no longer functioning now in india. Also 4K 3D 1.43:1 DCP for IMAX is also not available in India because we do not have an IMAX GT (Dual Laser) in India

I completely agree with you man. Given how passionate our people are about movies, we definitely deserve more top-tier theaters in our area. Hopefully, we'll see some promising GTs coming to Kerala in the near future.

I agree. The ones who really care about theatres and projection quality is a very few among our population. Although it would be a dream for, business wise it's not very feasible so I get it why IMAX in Kerala is a hesitant dilemma. But let's hope the SL IMAX in Cinepolis would make our people get to know and appreciate IMAX more.
Sound output of IMAX is different from other format screens as it was specifically made for imax..So we dont need 70mm movies all the time to experience it..Except Dual Xenon format all other Formats are amazing..

No you're wrong. 1.43 is not restricted to just 70mm film projections. The GT theatres use 4K dual laser projection that also shows in the complete 1.43 AR. But the quality is obviously superior on film as opposed to digital. But the image quality of film isn't a huge deal breaker for movie watching. A dual laser 4K projection will still be superior to the eye and won't make a difference unless you're really pixel peeping which I don't think you would be while being immersed in the glory of the 1.43
@@kaeez bro in the case of gt theatres, that movies are shooted in 1.43:1 imax cameras that's the point okay not about projector's, we can never project a film shot in lower aspect ratio's on 1.43:1 AR and I don't know how gt theatre digital imax projectors achieved the giant aspect ratio 1.43:1 in digitally 🤔becuz imax corporation did not develop a 1.43:1 imax digital camera sensors and projectors. Another thing is based on artistic factors of cinematography that quality or resolution is not a big deal but resolution and quality is important for better watching experience and detailing, that's why imax digital projection use dual projectors. Celluloids are really like a painting but digital visuals are built with pixels that is the main difference. Technically, old 35 mm film's quality is digitally equivalent to 6k pixels, but till our digital standard cinema is only 4k pixels.

I was told this was previously a 70mm IMAX with 1.43:1 screen. They upgraded to Single CoLA & 12 ch but still using the 1.43:1 screen since they have plans to Upgrade to Dual Laser in near future. As of now they are projecting 2K 3D and 4K 2D DCP at 1.90:1 Movies to 2.39:1 movies on this 1.43:1 Screen. ( i saw Deadpool & Wolverine 2D here with my mother)
Whereas a Traditional IMAX GT Theatre will have both 1.43:1 and Dual Laser Projectors capable of projecting 1.43:1 4K 3D DCP

All over india the DCP for IMAX will be either 4K 2D or 2K 3D. Movie sides or bottom cut aaki kanikunathalla that particular movie will be in Scope Aspect Ratio or Not Aligned with 1.90:1 aspect ratio of IMAX.
Some movies like Aquaman 2, Godzilla x Kong New Empire, Dune 1, Dune 2, Alien Romulus Etc are 1.90:1 ratio full screen IMAX Exclusives. ie, 2.39:1 Ratio at other theatres.
The director and editor decides the Aspect Ratio, not the theatre. Earlier theatres used to zoom in and fill the screen, now that is not allowed.
INDIA doesn't get 1.43:1 DCP because 70mm IMAX Film Theatre that plays movies are no longer functioning now in india.
Also 4K 3D 1.43:1 DCP for IMAX is also not available in India because we do not have an IMAX GT (Dual Laser) in India

Not just that, negligence, inexperience and lack of knowledge is also a reason for less audience. Most common people in Kerala do not know what IMAX is or let alone even the difference between a laser & normal projection. there are people i know who still believe and says PVR LuLu ale best theatre in Kochi

I agree. The ones who really care about theatres and projection quality is a very few among our population. Although it would be a dream for, business wise it's not very feasible so I get it why IMAX in Kerala is a hesitant dilemma. But let's hope the SL IMAX in Cinepolis would make our people get to know and appreciate IMAX more.
Sound output of IMAX is different from other format screens as it was specifically made for imax..So we dont need 70mm movies all the time to experience it..Except Dual Xenon format all other Formats are amazing..

Well informed video that gives a very good breakdown of IMAX formats and the untapped potential of Sridhar. Even if not a GT Laser, a good XT with 12ch setup combined with that massive auditorium would be good enough to bring outside crowd to Kochi.
