If your tandems are slide back when your park and you are worried about sticking out too far... go back, take note to the position your tandems (pin hole) and slide them forward for your break... slide it back into position when you leave... I've only done this twice, but those Truckstop was tight... keep up the positive attitude😊

I had a driver back into my driver side of my truck 2 weeks ago. Took out 3 panel skirts. Probably $8k or more in damage. Guy said I’ll give you cash I said you got $8k-$12k in cash on you? He thought it was just scratches down playing it. The parts were snapped off, not just scratched. I called the cops got a report, the guy cooperated, in the end. Insurance is sending the check soon for repairs.
Get a dashcam, these scammers will deny till their blue in the face, then ask you if you accept Zelle so you don’t report them. Get a dashcam immediately. And never ever accept a bribe from them. They do this on a regular basis

They'll charge your settlement for the deductible, then reimburse you when the other driver's insurance or company pays. Actually, if your deer guard isn't structurally damaged, you could get by with just getting it painted with that coating. Don't be surprised if you don't get any payment for that minor damage.
I have Go pro ,plus the camera built in from the factory on my truck, my opinion. Go pro is the best camera, to store footage, I was actually there at that loves in Carlisle PA. Last night weighing my truck, I actually seen a truck get the hood torn off. The driver was in the shower ,the driver that did the damage try to leave ,me and another driver stopped him ,told if he leaves he can be charged for leaving the scene, Theres is no respect among most drivers today Been driving 21 years ,people are so different, btw love's and the pilots are the worst place to park, drivers today will tear you Truck to pieces, and lie to get out of a preventable accident report against. The petro next door to loves is a better option. You have a nice Truck ,it is really sad people don't care about others equipment, just be safe out there, you're dog, he is a handsome fella People need to stop, he is healthy and happy, well care for and spoiled like baby . That loves in Carlisle is horrible, i always try to avoid those smaller truck stops in busy areas and try to park at the larger ones. There's obviously a petro next door and a flying J down the road on the east side of 81..but my company send us to that loves all the time to get fuel and its always messy

I was parked evenly in my spot and another truck with a trailer attached was parking on the.passenger side of me and hit my side view mirror on that side of the truck, and it was day time. A lot of these other truckers and 4 wheelers out here are just Stupid, for REAL. I’m glad you’re ok. Be careful out here on the road.
Lots to learn in trucking. You can slide those tandems to get backed in a hole further, just make a note of what hole to slide them back too. Premium parking can be deducted from your taxes if you run an LLC with your lease. Most owner ops know these franchise major truck stops are death traps. Fuel and food cost more. The only benefit truckers get is points and shower points for crappy showers. Which is something else you can deduct on taxes, so why not go for the better showers at small mom and pop stops. Just some ideas. A dirt lot, ive seen trucks pack it out tight and better than a lot that is paved and lined.

Whenever I have to run with the tandems further back and then park for the night, I’ll slide my tandems to make myself shorter while parked. Then slide it back when I leave. By the way, never stay at that Love’s. I’ve been staying next door at the Petro for years with no problems.
I drive for Swift n I'm always on i81. That Loves is always PACKED!! People park wherever they see room. I normally park at the Flying J. It's 260 spaces
The loves next to the petro ? i haul flatbed my split axles makes me stick out. I parked at that loves in a spot next to a light too but ended up moving to the petro because i had a feeling someone might hit me. Probably made the right call 😅

After i was hit, company started complaining about me having my sunvisor down which was in front of the inward facing camera. Company put me down as HOS violation for having my sunvisor down and I’ve been getting the run around for months to get that removed. Safety see’s i didnt have an HOS issue, but they can’t change what’s in the system. The 2 phone numbers i was given to who can change it, haven’t answered the phone, been calling since August to resolve their error. This sucks.

When I was OTR, I saw plenty of accidents like that. I got to where I’d stay at smaller mom and pop type truck stops. Lot fewer rookies and steering wheel holders stay at those. Rarely saw that at them.
If your mirrors are that dirty, before you back up, take a minute and a half to clean them. Doesn't help to clean them after the fact. Don't mean to sound gruff or lecturing Nia, just trying to be helpful. I've been there more than once in my 58 years of driving, and still going. Just local now in my home province of Manitoba. Lying is #1 sign of a trash human. Everyone messes up, every trucker (especially newer drivers) hits something at some point. Whether it's a little tap or some hellacious rip n tear....a decent person just admits it. Own your mistake and do better. It's just too hard for some people to do. Been there when my truck was new last year. This truck has been nothing but a magnet for destruction. Should have known when I had to have the windshield replaced on the maiden voyage that it was off to a bad start.
